The Sprawl - Mere hours after the necromorph infestation ravaged it's way through the station, everything is once again quiet, not through peace, but through death. Not many survivors remain, those who live have only the continued horrors of each blood-stained room to greet them. They must continue to fight or face a fate worse than death. |

As the patter of the feet grew louder, it also had grew faster. It was a chilling noise, and from the sound of the footsteps on the white paneling floor Matthew knew whoever, or whatever, it was, shoes did not don this mysterious figure. Shit, this things coming right for me. His mind was racing, he didn't have much time to react, the figure was surely just beyond the counters edge from where Matthew was hiding. Panicked, Matthew gathered all the strength in his body left, and lifted himself above the barrier with his pistol pointed straight out in front of him. Immediately, Matthew saw the black Silhouette jump forward at him, and with a strong push on the pistol, he was disarmed. As unexpected as the immediate resistance was, Matthew's training now took over. Grabbing the wrist that was squeezing his arm, Matthew lifted the unknown mans hand above himself, and twisted backwards. With a sudden pop of the wrist, Matthew knew he had just broken the mans hand, rending it useless. Or so he thought. The mans free arm had jutted from the darkness and had grasped the back of Matthew's head. Attempting to push the unknown figures arm back, Matthew pushed his against the attackers. As trained it should break the mans grip with ease, this time, it didn't. The figure was now pulling his head down, almost with enough strength to break Matthew's neck, and with a short burst of energy he resisted, but it wasn't good enough. Matthew's head had crashed into the steel counter, and with a loud bang, the figure had pulled Matthew's whole body upon the surface. His vision had blurred, his ears rang, subconsciously, Matthew yelled in resistance and fought back the figure with every spare drop of energy left in his muscles. "Drop him or I drop you, you son of a bitch! I ain't going to count to three!" A voice Matthew recognized faded into his head. It was dulled by the ringing, but a familiar voice none the less. Taggart. With a thud, the figure relieved the pressure upon Matthew, his hands slid back to his sides in the darkness. With a trembling groan of pain, Matthew slid off the counter, "Luna are you alright?" Zane had flicked a flash of light toward Matthew, revealing a small but bloodied gash on his forehead, then quickly shined the light back on the figure. "Who the frak are you?" With a hand still leaning on the counter, Matthew clicked his flashlight to life. The apparatus still buckled to his shoulder pad. "Fu**ing hell," he softly ran his fingers upon the gash on his head, "That hurt like a bitch, but, I'll live. Nothing serious. Thanks Taggart." Slowly regaining his hearing and vision, Matthew reached down to the cold floor and gripped his plasma pistol. He stepped from behind the counter, over the broken cash register that had earlier given away his position, and stood next to Zane with his eyes fixed on his attacker. It was a man, he stood roughly the size of Matthew. His blue eyes hanging in his head with deep black bags underneath. His hair was a dark grey, almost black, and his face wore many deep cuts, shining with blood from the reflection of the two lights that focused on him. His arms that looked to of been shredded by a pack of wolves shielded his face as best he could from the obvious bright beams of light. One hand, trembling in the light, had been twisted in such a way, bone was beginning to be showing through his pale skin. "My na- name is no- not important," the man answered Zane with a strained high voice, "My-my-my fa- father told me you were behind th- there. What di- did he tell me? Don't Understand it, Don- No, no, unders- understand it. It wants me to understand it." The man was obviously crazy, and to Matthew, that was one of his worst fears. Dealing with drunks was one thing he could handle and rather enjoy, but crazies, there was no telling what they'd do to you or anybody. Raising his plasma pistol at the mans chest only a few strides away, Matthew remained stern, keeping his voice in a commanding tone, "Understand it? Understand what, no, fu** that, why did you attack me?" The man let his arms drop to his chest, his fingers began picking at his wounds, most likely self inflicted. "Why- Why do you res- resist it? Convergence is coming, Convergence is her- her- here, you can't escape it." "Are you out of your damn mind? Resist Convergence? Your a damn Unitologist aren't you?" Matthew raised his pistol to the mans head, his eyes didn't show any sign of noticing the intimidation. Suddenly, the man fell on all fours. "What the fu**," Matthew let out as the man seemed to uncontrollably shake his head. Blood seeped out of his mouth, throwing droplets everywhere with each violent shake, he had bitten his own tongue off. "Jesus, what ar-" The man pounced at Matthew's legs, grabbing his combat boots attempting to trip him over. "Taggart! Shoot this crazy son of a bitch!" As Matthew was wrestling his legs free from the man, Taggart lifted his rivet gun into aim, fired, and shot the projectiles into the mans leg. With that, he had let go, and was groaning on the now bloodied floor. Matthew took a trembling step backwards, lifted his pistol back to his head, and discharged a single plasma bolt. The mans body fell to the floor, rivets pinning his leg to the ground, and a small hole in his head with smoke trails emitting from inside the skull. He was dead. Under his breath, Matthew let out a seemingly quiet response to the occurrence, "What the hell is the station coming too Taggart." Edited by Chubbs70000000, 11th July 2012 - 09:01 PM.

"What the hell is the station coming too Taggart." a good question, if zane knew the awnser he would be alot more prepared for what laid ahead, if such a thing could be prepared for. "Don't you think shooting him in the head is a bit overboard Luna?" Zane asked , he shot to immobalize, not kill. "In a better time absolutely, but now... No. He tried to kill me and almost succeeded, and he was still trying." Luna stated, not a ounce of doubt in his voice. "Well Luna , I think your going to need something other than that plasma pistol, i dont need you exploding on me, theres a tool closet back this way and i can fix something a little more "robust" than a plasma pistol" They walked the 2 minute walk back to the tool shed in silence, ears open to the slightest sound from anything that might be around, passing by shops once bustling with people laying cold in the sprawl, suitcases abandoned, and blood without bodies. Zane and Luna came to the tool closet that lay between shops, door swung open from the frantic clawing of the owner of it, he obvoisly never got to any tools if the blood and the section of arm lying there were any indication. "Ok Luna" zane said while motioning to the walls, wracked with every powertool known to man "pick your poison and ill give it bite for yah" as he walked over to the bench to work while waiting for luna to pick a tool. Zane took his flamer and his rivetgun and started to pull out metal bars from the small compartment in the workbench, slowly and carefully welding them together as to allow both to function without damaging another, and yet to be easily held as one . he added a much longer barrel to the rivetgun and mounted the flamer to the bottom of the newly extended barrel as to hold the flamer as a forward grip and the rivetgun as a main grip. A small , passing feeling of whimsy past as he looked at his invention "Hey Luna, check it out" he lifted his creation infront of him." I call it "The Riveting Combustinator!"" he exclaimed to try to get his mind off the grim reality around them. "Anyway have you chosen a tool yet?" he asked, about 5 minutes had passed since they entered. " Yeah, I choose this." He said , plopping the tool he chose onto the workbench for Zane to remove the limiters of. "Luna, you cant POSSIBLY want to try to using THIS thing can you?" zane asked in true disbelief, he never even considered useing it as a weapon, though thinking about it it kinda made sense. "this thing is HIGHLY dangerous even untouched. Are you sure you want me to take the safeties off?" "Yes." a simple anwser from a grim man. "ok, ok.......here" a few popped restrictor coils and a removed limiter plate was all it took "but i swear to god Luna if you point this at me ill make you eat it." Zane said, feeling uncomfortable even being in the same room as the tool. "Im going to do one more scan for RIG signals. Can never have too many friends." zane stated as they left the tool closet, already returning to the stagnant veins of a dieing city. The only sound they heard while walking until the scan was complete was the sound of their boots clomping down the hall. |

Blood dripped off Tidus's RIG. Covered in the foul liquid of his foes, he wandered about the halls, searching for any survivors. This had to have spread across Titan, Tidus thought. Whatever monstrosity he had just faced couldn't have been the first, or the last. That much he knew was certain. His face bleak with expression under his RIG helmet, the bright light-blue light emitting from his visor masked the hallway in a eerie way. It made the nostalgia of a zombie horror film come to life, but under the horrific circumstances Tidus couldn't bear to stay in one place, it would surely bring his demise. With the feeling of death imminent Tidus set off, either venturing to his graveyard or salvation. Stealthily making his way through the hallways and corridors of The Sprawl, making sure that he were not to tip off his presence to anyone, or anything. Slowly rounding each corner, he made his way past several sections of the Station, carefully making his way towards the Central Station HUB. He was positive he would find other survivors, maybe even find a way out of this mess. He had to get out of this place, the reality of the events started to hit him, he was no longer safe anywhere. Any moment could spontaneously lead to an inexplicable death for him, he would not have it though. Plasma Cutter in hand, Tidus kept a careful grip of the rubberized handle. Along with it's familiar curves and dull painting, the Cutter also brought a sense of odd calming over Tidus. He at least stood a fighting chance at surviving these necromorph creatures. He kept over-analyzing every creak, moan, and whisper in the station, trying to remain calm and keep a level head. In a situation like this one, it seemed almost impossible to find any calming to the foreseen task at hand. Swiftly Tidus kept on making his way down corridor after corridor, luckily not running into any resistance he was soon not that far from the HUB. Just then he heard a heavy pounding of feet, a massive creature could only produce so much vibration. Tidus could feel the shaking as it got closer, and closer, and closer. Crossing paths with whatever was close to him was not an option, he bolted down the nearest hallway. His legs turning faster than he could run, turning down endless paths enshrouded in darkness. With every step away from his pursuer he was one step closer to the unknown. Tidus, just making it down a long narrow maintenance hallway, his follower finally showed it's face. It was huge, massive in weight at stature. Strong, torso, brutish qualities, Tidus was clearly outmatched. The brute-like monster ran at Tidus, it's rear legs leaping it off the ground, launching itself directly at Tidus. As the Brute came drown from its aerial assault,Tidus flung himself up and narrowly avoided the gruesome death that would of been his fate. |

"I'm going to do one more scan for RIG signals. Can never have too many friends." Zane lifted his arm to his chest, with a click of some gadgets on his wrist the scan had started. "Right, good idea," Matthew responded as he took a glance over at Zane, "let's just hope this time the next person we come across isn't a damn madman huh?" Zane didn't respond, his gas mask was fixed on the scan, seemingly oblivious to his surroundings. The corridor was quiet, only the electrical buzz of the equipment attached to Zane's arm could be heard. Matthew looked back down the cold, metallic, corridor. It wasn't the first time he had taken over-watch in his career, as a Security Officer on Titan Station, he had done many over-watch deployments. Though simply keeping civilians from entering a restricted area for unknown reasons was one thing completely different from this. He didn't know what these things were he was up against. Hell for all he knew, this could all be a terrible nightmare, with him still sleeping on his desk at the outpost back in Civic Square. It felt to real, it couldn't be a dream. Dreams never last this long, dreams never hurt like this, Matthew reached his hand up to his head, softly running his fingers back over his gash, Get a hold of yoursel- A faint, but sudden yell was heard down the corridor, Matthew cleared his head instantly and took position behind the wall with Zane. It didn't sound like one of those creatures from what he could tell, but could it really be another person? The tool Zane had modified for him now laid within Matthew's grasp. It was a force gun, with Matthew's plasma pistol and stun baton still attached to his combat belt, the tools bulky and heavy structure fit perfectly into his grip. With one hand supporting the bottom of the force gun for weight, and the other readied to pull back the apparatus' lever unleashing a force of concentrated energy so strong it could literally blow off a mans arm, he prepared himself for anything coming into his field of view. Down the corridor, the combined beams of Matthew's and Zane's flashlights unraveled the cover of darkness. Blood, it was everywhere, smeared on the walls, dripping down from the steel bulkheads, looking as if almost the cold panel floors seeped with the dark crimson liquid. It was a terrible sight, a mad mans portrait from his state of mind. Though the sight of so much blood was a spine chilling view already, one thing in particular gave Matthew a very unsettling feeling. Oh my God, where are all the bodies? Zane crouched beside Matthew with his new combined weapon pointing at their front, "What, what is it?" Zane questioned Matthew in a whisper, both eyes still fixed down the corridor. "I heard something, sounded, almost, human I think. Somethings or someone is in the Central HUB with us," Matthew's response was in a quiet controlled tone, "I dunno for sure though, so lets just assume whatever it was, it's hostile just like that son of a bitch back at the market." A quiet but define beeping sounded from Zane's scanning tool. Matthew, with raised eyebrows, took a quick glance back at his partner, then immediately back to their front. Zane peered down through his now illuminated gas mask by the gadget attached to his arm, "What happened, did it pick somebody up?" Matthew questioned with a curious tint in his voice. "What happened, did it pick somebody up?" "I have got 8 RIG-links within 3000 yards, 20 in 2 miles , and 238 on the entire sprawl.... all but 30 of them total are not concious and are bleeding to death. 4 of them are within 1000 yards, healthy enough. Closest is One Tidus Fitzger...garald? i dont frakin know how to pronounce it, rig says he is fine but scared outa his mind, i put a trace to his rig in our locator. I don't think its a good idea to contact him right now, might kill himself from the scare of his RIG springing up. if he looks at his contacts he will see the trace though." Zane ended a rapid fire speech of the scans finding as he and Luna sat there, crouched in the hall waiting for whatever in god or altmans domain made that noise. "Fine whatever just keep your voice down Taggart." Luna stated under his breath, hefting the Forcegun he chose from the Tool closet to aim and swept the hallway with it, slowly back and forth while Zane tumbled through the blueprints for the sprawl trying to choose the quickest route. "Luna your holding the tool wrong." Zane said trying to help luna with his new toy. "What?" Luna asked glancing at him and then back down the hallway. "Your hands not on the grip nor near the trigger, that lever is used to release the battery, the grips in the center of the back of the tool" Zane stated , pointing to the small grip with the red trigger on it. Luna glanced down to the Forcegun and quickly corrected his grip. "Thank you, but you still need to lower your voice." he again whispered paranoid of the thing that he heard just moments ago. The dead hall never changed throughout this back and forth, Zane couldnt hear anything so far, but then again a couple dozen exploding tools in your face will hurt your hearing. Zane saw Luna fidget a couple times, some might of been reflex and some might have been him hearing a sound and reacting. "Look sitting here and waiting wont get us anywhere, we need to move forward." Zane stated, tired of sitting here scared of a army of the dead rounding the corner. " give me one of your force energy packs Luna." "Why?" "JUST DO IT" zane said, exasperated with questions. Taking the pack handed to him he hooked it up to one of the gadgets adorning his left arms sleeve. he pointed to a vending machine in the hall and activated his kenises module, ripping the vending machine from the floor, he let it hover in front of him. "Come on Luna, one of these packs is only good for one throw this heavy, anything gets in our way and ill smash it to pieces." as he stood up and started walking down the hall, vending machine hovering infront of him, ready to smash any and all creatures that would show themselves. |

"Things have just gotten quite mad around here." "They said to stay indoors and await....further instructions." Abbey sat on the edge of her bed, head resting firmly in her hands. She looked up, looked around her room, it was less that a mile, or what could for a mile from one of the C-sec stations. The lights flickered, dimming slightly. She clicked on her flashlight to make the room more visible. There was a window in her room that overlooked a wide open area below, it wasn't the best view but it allowed her to see out to the buisness district. From where she sat, she could see out the window, she could see the C-sec office and wondered how the others were holding up. She had recieved a communication from a few of her fellow rookies, telling her that they had hold up in the Buissness section C-sec building. But that had been a while ago. She had not heard from them since. "I'm sure their all fine." The lights flickered above her and her room threatened to go dark at any moment. "Everything's going to be fine." Abbey pushed herself further back onto her bed, it was a double, beside it was her holo-pad and a picture of her girlfriend Jenny. There was a sound overhead, like something was moving through the vents above. Between her legs she carried her Divet, she made sure the clip was full. Abbey pulled the holopad over to her, she flicked it to life. She brought up a map of the local area, brushed it aside and brought up the comunication function. The young woman shook her head ever so slightly, tapping the short range comms to life. She let a small relaxed sigh escape her lips. There were more noises around her something was moving in the vents. She had been stuck alone in her room for at least a day and a half now. There was a roar nearby, Abbey grabbed the Divet gun. Just incase she needed it, for now she would moniter the comms, see if she heard from C-Sec or anyone for a while. (Sorry, don't think this post is particularly good.) |

Arthur didn't speak for the remainder of his time with the other man, breaking his nose was enough reason for this, but Arthur simply didn't have much energy to waste when his leg had just spent the good part of a few hours gushing blood. "Hrrph", Arthur startled himself once more as he slipped in and out of consciousness, the elevator seemed to be taking years to reach the higher floors, hopefully the doctor on his comms would still be there and get him walking again. The doors jarred open with a resounding 'ping', but there was no way Arthur could make it through another corridor. Sensing this, the still unnamed man simply shrugged and said "I've been talking to a doctor on my comms, with any luck she'll still be around here and i'll bring her to you, just stay here and...y'know, try not to bleed out". That was it. All Arthur could do was sit and pray that no beast would see him until the doctor's arrival, though the air had a strange quality here, it made Arthur's head hurt as his eyes swam in a thousand directions. He was floating again. |

Walking down the dead halls of the sprawl, vending machine floating infront of him, and Luna in tow right behind him, Zane started to feel safe, even confident in his situation. Instead of focusing on worries he let his zeal cloud his mind as he scanned the hallways, still no sign of the unperson Matthew said he heard. " You know Luna its been 3 blocks without a damn peep from the creatures, maybe your hearing things." Zane stated "I AM hearing things, real things. If i wasn't 100% sure there was something out there you think i would of gone out of our way to look for it?" Luna said. Suddenly chirps started to echo from above them, in the vents, along with thudding and screeching. "Is THAT what you heard Luna?" Zane sarcastically asked "No." Luna said in a paniced voice as he scanned the area for possible entry vents for the creature. A high vent infront of them, about 20 feet off the ground shattered open, and out climbed a bat like creature ,skin clorored and small. Zane didnt know what it could do and wasn't about to find out. He pointed his G.R.I.P. glove at the creature still sitting high on the wall, and reveresed the gravity pullies, hurling that 1 ton vending machine 30 miles per hour straight at the damn bat thing. With a smash, crunch, and screech, the bat thing was smashed into chunky salsa while the vending machine stayed lodged in the wall it hit. Bravado filling his lungs Zane yelled "YEAH!!! DE-VEND YOURSELF B*TCH" at the mess dripping down the wall, Luna giving him the look of a man that just saw his friend eat his own shoes. "Taggart what the F*CK has gotten into you?" Luna asked agasp. Before he could answer a group of 4 child creatures fell from the roof vents right infront of the chunky salsa wall, not having enough juice to hurl the vending machine again, zane simply used kenisis to pull on the machine, dislodging it from the wall right onto the 4 monsters, making another batch of chunky salsa necromorph. "hehe looks like they just fell to reeses pieces huh?" Luna stated , Zane first stared at the man that just cracked wiser than him then raised his arm for a high five. Lunas high five swing was a thing of legends, coming very close to breaking Zanes hand. "hgghrrrr" Zane groaned , clasping his now aching hand "SHHHH you hear that? Its that noise again... enough screwing around lets keep moving" Luna commanded , now fully alert and taking point. |

"Are we there already?" "God dammit I told you that when when we'll arrive you'll be the first to know" Etrius was sitting quietly in the his seat looking at the stars from the front glass of their ship. "There we arrived" said Scott when the Sprawl came up in front of them. "Wow....So that's the Sprawl huh? I wonder why they radio-in us for a distress call?" "Guess we'll find out...." replied Timothy. 'Let's do this." thought Etrius "Anthony radio-in shuttle 2 that we here and waiting for them" "Yes sir......Shuttle 2 do you hear this is shuttle 1 you read?over." "This is Matthew-Shuttle 2 how's it going?" "We're at the Sprawl waiting for you to arrive" "Roger that. How's Tim pissed all the ride about 'when we'll arrive?" "frak you Matt!" "Easy now boys, when you'll be here?" "ETA 3 minutes sir" "Roger that shuttle 2 ,out" Etrius was mad at Tim and Matt for their unstoppable sense of humor , and didn't tried to hide it. "What the hell was that Tim?" he asked "Sir?" "Cut out your jokes, people could really be in trouble down there..." "But, Matt started sir." "I don't give a shit who started this how old are you Tim huh?" "Sorry sir .... It won't happen again..." "I'm not telling you not to keep a light up Tim just, with a radius okay?" "Sure boss." "Shuttle 2 to shuttle 1 over ,do you read?" "Loud and clear how's it going on there?" "We're right behind let's take a spin around huh?" "Roger that. Sir?" "Let's get this over with guys!" "Not much lights if you ask me...." said Matt while they were flying near the public sector "Hey Tim, aren't afraid of darkness?" "frak you Schneider!" "Yeah cut that out man" added Frosty "Just trying to stay alive here..." the next 5 minutes they floated around the hospital looking for any life signal 'Nothing, not a single life" thought Etrius. "How you guys hanging there?" "We're ready to land everybody are in their suits ,you ?" "Hold on .... Yeah we're ready , everybody armed?" "Yes let's go!" both of the shuttles landed . "Nothing here Green." "No shit, but why so much blood.Terrorist attack?" "Not quite sure .Hey Schneider ! Come here!" Matt came to Etrius "Sir?" "I need you to scan this blood, what caused this, anything suspicious -you report to me got it?" "Yeah but I need cover ." "Okay, Scott you're going with him everyone else stay on the platform if you running out of air there's an Oxygen station near the shuttles " they spread around some alone but Tim went with Frosty 'They're a good team." thought Etrius."..And he was all like 'my ass is frozen' then he fell down" "Haha well some has a sense of humor" "Hey Tim !" "What is it now Matt?" "Don't poop your pants from the blood" said Matt and started laughing to himself "You know maybe I should make a tape that says 'frak you Schneider' every 30 seconds and sell it around the universe ,and who knows... Maybe it's gonna be more cash that this business."A small smile began to appear on Etrius' face "Good we're ready guys, let's find out what happened here....." said Etrius as they walked in to the dark and bloody corridors of Sprawl's hospital...
