Don't go arguing over religion, it is undoubtedly the most common debate. We shouldn't try to convert anyone to believing or not believing, even though it may happen.

Me: I don't know if there is a God, I do believe in Evolution though. We all came from monkeys, that makes far more sence than things being Created.

I don't understand how evolution started, the big bang theory doesn't make sense, what caused the big bang? How can things like this happen?

I got my eyes on you.
I'm agnostic, but I believe evolution exists, as opposed to creationism. I mean, evolution has been proven to exist, simply because animals (including humans) have to adapt to their conditions, which is how we get different species, like flightless birds, for example.

However, like you said, I'm a little unsure about 'the big bang'. To me, that concept is just as absurd as some supreme overlord creating everything.

So I'm voting for the third option, though I lean more towards the second than the first.

Yes is my answer. And I do not wish to start a religious argument, because they are full of anger and hatred and no one wins.

I just want to see who believes and who doesn't. No arguments.

I'm keeping my eye on this thread though, incase arguments do happen.

I don't mind if there is a bit of debate or heated discussion though. It seems almost inevitable with a thread like this.

My belief: There is no god.. but there is something that I wouldn't describe as "god",

I don't believe in evolution. What was so wrong to evolve out of our tails and fur? and why aren't we evolving to fight disease and virus's. Hell I believe we were never created or evolved. we were always here repeating the process of destroying ourselves and any evidence of our pre-existence. It's best not to worry about things liek this and worry about enjoying our lives till the answer does come. (death)

I'm fairly agnostic myself. It's a pretty open-minded stance, I think. I believe in the possibility of a God, but not in the kind of white-bearded 'create the earth in 6 days' God from the Bible, or any organized religion's 'God.' The reason I'm open about the possibility of a God, or a higher being is because the truth is there's just as much proof of his existence as there is of his non-existence. And that proof is none. You can't prove there's a God, and you can't prove that there isn't. That's why there are fanatical religious people and that's why there are atheists. I also think that it is rather selfish to believe that in this grand universe we live in there simply can be no other intelligent beings or higher beings than Humans.

Whether Evolution is real or not isn't even a matter of discussion. Microevoultion is a scientific reality, changes in species do occur over time. As for humans coming from monkeys? Eh, that's very much debatable. Who knows, I don't know. It's very possible. We are primates after all. Personally I really don't care.

Hmm, well I do agree that enjoying our lives is perhaps more important than worrying about things that may be seen as trivial, I don't think there's anything wrong with pondering stuff like this. And I think we are evolving to fight disease and viruses, aren't we? There are countless of diseases and viruses that plagued man hundreds and hundreds of years ago that simply aren't a problem for people today. This is partly due to vaccines, but also those diseases just disappear while new diseases introduce themselves. So.. I don't know, there will always be diseases.

THE MAJOR RAGER ON THE 6-STRINGED MOTHER%$@!ER!...I wish...
I'm not entirely sure. Something had to create us if you ask me(I fail to see how we evolved from natural gases...), but if it IS out there it doesn't seem to be looking out for us very well with all the killing and stuff that's going on all the time...=/

Im Catholic, so I do believe in God. And in The Bible, it does say God created the Earth and all in 6 days. Not 6 Earth Days (as in 24 hour days), just 6 periods of time.
I do not believe in the Big Bang. We are learning about it in science. I don't like it, I don't believe it. As for our start, maybe God did make us as monkeys or something, with the ability to evolve to fit the climate. And they just evolved into what we are today. Who knows.
Its like Dark Matter. How do we know its there? How do we know its not? We just have to believe that its there. I don't need proof of God to exist, I believe he does.

But why? You've explained how you can believe, but why do you believe?

He dare not ask why.

On a serious note, though, everyone should watch George Carlins thoughts on this kind of topic. Everyone should watch George Carlin in general, actually.

It is interesting to see everyones different views.

I believe in evolution and in science; I think that belief in a god was used to explain things that people couldn't explain way back before science was able to explain it. Basically I don't believe in god(s) because there is no scientific evidence to prove it, and there are so many inconsistencys and flaws in the idea of god(s) and the way people go about worshipping them. Like for instance; God is supposedly all forgiving, but if you don't worship him you go to hell.

As for the big bang, I had never really thought about not beleiving that - but as you guys say, it does also seem a bit far fetched... Really why does anything exist? If nothing existed before the big bang then how did the big bang happen...? Or where there like rocks and stuff that crashed or something the had a chemical reaction... and then redistributed themselves into planets XD? I guess there are lots of things we can't exactly explain, but I doubt a god is the answer - afterall, how would it have come into existance? Imma gonna have to wikipedia this big bang stuff now to get the proper details XD
