I'm hereby to ask your opinion on this important issue: Barack Obama. Do you think he's a competent nation leader ? the best choice at the moment ? Let's act maturely and start a debate on this issue. My opinion is simple: he was and is the best choice for the ppl to choose at the moment elections started over. No more. |

He seems like a nice guy and somebody who really cares for the people. I'd feel safe having him as a leader. Also, McCain seemed like he would kick the bucket within second of the election finishing, but Obama has a fair few years ahead of him. For that reason, I think he was a better leader in the long run, mostly because a) he wouldn't die halfway through the job and b) his actions are likely have both the present and future in consideration rather than just the present. And as Randy Marsh would say, "Ceeeeeelebrate good Obama, c'mon!" Edited by santanoice, Sep 18 2009, 06:50:42 PM.

Obama is the Antichrist. and I still haven't seen this so-called change. But that should I care? He's not my government.

Man, I hate that Antichrist stuff. It's all rubbish. Unless you're cracking a joke and being sarcastic. I support sarcasm.

Change doesn't happen overnight. It takes years, no matter who the president is. |

I like him as he's the nearest thing to a "Socialist" leader America has had since FDR. I wish Congress would let him pass the health care reforms he campaigned on though. He was voted in knowing fully well that health care reforms were near the top of his 'to do' list, it's bullcrap. |

Barack's done more work in his 8 months of being president, than George Bush has done in 8 years. He's doing his job right, he may not be doing what everyone wants, no matter what happens there's always gonna be someone with a problem with what he's doing, but at least he's trying to make his country a better place. There are many things on his todo list, which include destroying the terrorists and bringing all the troops home. We all know Osama Bin Laden wont be on the run for ever, no one lives for ever. BARACK OBAMA MUSLIM TERRORIST SOCIALIST COMMUIST FACIST NAZI RACIST ANTICHRIST FROM KENYA
lolno. http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/promises/subjects/politifacts-top-promises/?page=1 Although hes starting to get some more done now, so far he's kept barely any of his campaign promises. He's yet to repeal DOMA (defense of marriage act), DODA (don't ask don't tell), and end warrantless wiretaps. If he wants to keep a democratic majority in the houses, he's gonna have to kick into gear and start doing stuff. |

Did you really expect 100-or so promises to be fulfilled overnight? =.= He's only been in office for a few months. At least he's actually put some work into the country. I can't imagine what state you'd be in if Bush had still been in office throughout the past 8 months *watches America's economy go down the toilet*. He went into office with a lot of crap on his plate. He's slowly getting through it. Give the guy a break. |

I'm an Obama support btw. Repealing DOMA/DODA wouldn't require much work at all. Last I heard, besides gay pride month, Obama hasn't even said anything about gay rights. |

The only Gay Rights issue I'm aware of, and feel free to mention if there are more more, is the marriage/civil partnership issue. If so, not only would that be hard to regulate and enforce on a Federal level, but State isn't really supposed to get involved with Religion. It's a state issue at best, and shouldn't even be that. |

Don't Ask/Don't tell. Forbids openly gay people from serving in the military. And Obama was supposed to repeal DOMA (Defense of marriage act, which defines marriage between a man and a woman). If he got rid of it, he'd actually be making it a non-Federal issue. |

Ah, fair enough. Not sure why America would adopt that policy though, considering the number of fronts they're fighting on. I remember here in the U.K, a year ago or so, there was this massive effort to get more LGBT people to join the army. |
