Well guys, do you think it will happen? It'll be a while if it does in my opinion. By about 2040 probably. Everyones saying that the moonlanding was fake. Well it wasn't. Mans been on the moon and back 3 times between 1969 and 1972.

Get a bloke to sit on a Mars bar? Yes, it's possible. :P

I'm also pretty sure that NASA and other space-y people have Mars as a pretty big goal. I expect that they will get there eventually, though I'm not sure whether it will be during our lifetime.

40 years ago Armstrong landed on the moon. Illegibly. Because some people think it was shot in Hollywood. Because the flag was blowing like there was a wind; there is no wind in space. (because theres no air really) Also the tape of it was also lost or something, as it was just on a shelf.

People thought back then in 40 years they'd be living on the moon. Since then? Nothing really. The Challenger and Columbia both didn't end well. Apollo 13...well you know the story on that.

I don't think the US, Russia, and other Space Programs should blow all there damn money on space crap. Spend it on their country first.

But we could make Mars hospitable and send people to live there, since Earth is overpopulated.

Yeah, such as a big Air tank, considering Mars has no Oxygen IIRC. Earth is overpopulated, and Mars will be the key to solve the end of the world.

NASA wouldn't be working towards it if it weren't feasable.

If it weren't for the space programs there would be so much technology we take for granted that wouldn't have been developed. We wouldn't have satelites, so you could therefore say good bye to GPSs and international phone calls. Plus had it not been for Russia launching Sputnik, America wouldn't have freaked out about protecting there communications systems from them in the event they attacked and Arpanet wouldn't have been created... So you could say goodbye to Dashing as there would be no internet. I think war and the Space program are the two greatest catalysts for technological advancements.

It was waving because armstrong was fiddling around with it.

And it wasn't just Armstrong, Buzz Aldren was with him, along with another guy who actually never left the ship IIRC.

By the way, they did find a copy of the tape, in which got digitally remastered into higher quality.

I hate technology.
Who cares about cell phones and satellites?
Ever seen the movie WALL*E?
In a scene, a space ship is leaving Earth, a ring of satellites is surrounding the planet!

I have colored opinions if Armstrong and company ever landed. I believed it, until more info about it came out.

I did hear once, that Mars on its own, will eventually become habitable without us humans messing anything up (if we do try to make it livable, something somehow will get messed up). That would take around 1,000 years though I heard (so no around...995 or so). I don't see why everything needs to be so advanced. Yea, electronics (most, I think cell phones should go bye bye to free up air space) are a nice touch, like a computer and TV (imagine, if everyone just limited to one computer and one TV, it would save a lot of energy). If people would not keep fucking up the atmosphere (I forgive the Industrial Revolution, they didn't know) by polluting, and more wildfires were started (they are actually good in some places. They burn up a cover of weed-grass or something and even more trees than there were before are sprouted), and people stopped needing so much damned wood, and war stopped (unless against non-humans or bad asses), imagine would that would do for the planet.
Yes, its extreme.

That's BS. Not all technology is for leisure. What about all the medical technological advances since then?

Thats another thing I forgot to mention.
Medical advances can be good or bad. However, its more common when they are good. Some of them can be used wrong though (abortions, unless the bearer will die or something along the lines of that, then its OK).
Friar Lawrence could go on with his theme of Dual Nature of Creation (he can find good and bad in everything, as there is).

I must admit, cell phones can come in handy in emergencies, but I don't like them when you just use them to 'chit-chat'

As crazy as it seems now, I'm sure it will be possible in the 2050s. People used to think that walking on the moon would be impossible, but we found a way to do it.

It will eventually happen. It's a hell of a longer distance than the moon though so a lot more could go wrong. Then there's the problem of getting back :P
