The only application of the word chick that I use/have come across in my eighteen years of being female is checkout-chick; used to describe register operators at my place of work Although they also call the dudes checkout-chicks. I think its a bit lame to call girls chicks really...

I see only gay jock-asses say chicks. I don't. I doubt Ive ever used that term and I doubt I ever will. And I agree with you Magus. It is disrespectful. |

To me, guys that call girls chicks would just sound like tools. |

That too, on top of their gay jockass-ness. There was a 'tool' in our class. Man I loved messing with him about that (usually 'outsiders' dont mess with jocks. But Im special) |

Sure, I've said chick when refering to girls, but not regularly, and not often in front of them. But I don't think it's necessarily disrespectful, it's just informal. On the other hand, "bitches" is disrespectful. |

Yeah, I wouldn't consider it disrespectful, although as with everything it depends on context and connotation :D. Lol, there is this tool that works at coles. Toolish things he has said are: - (Before I worked at coles) he said to my sister when we were getting stuff for mum "Shopping with your sister thats soooo cute." - Refering to me as "little sister" - Saying something about me having to be bossed around by my sister at work, and then makeing a gun with his fingers, pointing it at his head and going "kaboom". Ah, tools are hilarious. They think they are so cool, and everyone else thinks they are tools. |
