| Hey Dark Rainians! A couple purely aesthetic changes have been made to the Roleplaying section; no content was changed. For those of you playing in the Casual section, your OOC was simply merged with the other. You'll also notice that there's a shoutbox at the bottom of the board now on a trial basis. | ||

Not sure if the staff will like this thread, if not feel free to tell me. I think that there are some things that could be updated on the board to, possibly better serve out new members. For instance, the staff thread needs to be updated. The portal, why is there never a TOTW or a member of the month? There is a section, but never anything there, and when there is, it's so outdated nobody knows what it is. That is what is on my mind right now. If you see something you think needs improvement, add it here. We can all work together to better our board and our experiences here. Thanx. Please don't hurt me.... |

Don't worry about the mods, this section of the board is here for this very reason. Only with people bringing things to their attention can they know they need seeing to.

A while ago I did a massive overhaul of the Portal, you should have seen it before. All those information topics and boxes and links were made by me. The thing is, no one really seemed to care, so I got the feeling that it was a pointless exercise and stopped. As for things like TOTW and MOTM, well, these were subject brought into discussion in the Staff board, but they failed to reach any conclusions. I'll see what I can do though. |

Thanx on that, Ari. Now I have something that is more along the lines of a question... Last I heard, we were really not using the mentoring system anymore. I'm more or less wondering if that is true. I know that I personally can't complain too much since my writing skills are far pretty basic. But I feel there are some people who could still benifit from it. I have noticed a decline in the quality that Dark Rain is providing as a site lately. I really don't think this will be taken seriously unless there are specific complaints and I really don't want to do that because I would feel like a jerk for it. I just didn't know if the staff have paid that any thought lately, or would want to do something with it. Thank you again for your time. Again, anyone else if more than welcome and encouraged to join in with their own suggestions and questions. |

We have removed most of the old Staff positions because they had fallen into great complacency and stagnation. We tried several times to use them to their maximum benefit, I myself was once a mentor, but whether it was due to sheer lethargy or embarrassment, people just didn't seem to want to remain committed to having a mentor. |

I remember that. You were my mentor. I appreciated the help. I see no shame in accepting such help. It is to benifit the ones recieving it. Not a punishment. |

Well, I suppose not everyone sees it that way. I suppose we could make it less of an official thing to get rid of that feeling of being 'in school' and being trained. Perhaps a casual forum for advice and training...? |

Hm...sounds like an idea. I think it would work. I honestly liked how you mentored me. It does suck having people point out your mistakes to you, but you learn from them. That's what it's for. Actually, I think everyone here would benifit from a little refresher of some type along the lines of the mentoring...I even think I would go for it. Couldn't hurt to try.
