Zane arrived at the meeting early. The lycans were readying for war it seemed, and he wanted to stake his claim early of where he would attack. This was the perfect excuse to get the bitch, and eat a few humans in the process. He sniffed the air, bloodbanes son had been somewhere in the area recently. Whether or not that posed a problem was still up in the air. That guy was one of his few major obstacles for obtaining the grand alpha position, which made him hold bitter feeling, which he had kept to himself. "Am I the first one here?" he thought out loud. "I should should probably get cleaned up, I smell like vampires and that brute."

He got into the shower before turning it on, and was shocked when his flesh was seared by it. He quickly jumped out, recieving only minor burns. "Those fucking humans blessed the irrigation system?" He yelled, not to anyone in particular.

The mutts finally show their muzzles.
The thought was amusing to the Lycanthrope Alpha as he strode into the UV-lit clearing in the centre of central park. He could see the outlines of other Sons of Bloodbane arrayed in the area, their packs nearby and all watching him with a sense of decrepit loathing. Diana was at his side, as always she would be from then on, his beta and advisor. Havok crossed his arms over his bare chest and simply smirked at the assembled in a sadistic manner, showing his naturally sharper canines to them. His brothers and kin responded by lifting their chins and tensing, some of the younger ones actually growling until their Alphas motioned for them to be silent. It was not the Lycanthrope way to attack in groups, any who wished to battle Havok, would have to face him head-on, which would be next to suicide for the pups. He raked his gaze over the assembled once more and raised an eyebrow, more had turned out than he had expected, and every son of Bloodbane was then present at the gathering, something that had not happened in decades.
“Careful, Diana, the situation may turn violent.”
His position remained mostly the same, but there was a noticeable air of preparation about him, his scarred body basked in the ultraviolet light filtering down onto the meeting ground, stormy grey eyes rising to regard the clouded sky. A distant flash of crimson lightning pulled a smirk onto his face as he considered the significance of the gathering; the High Alpha had ordered the Clan to prepare for open, active warfare, which meant that blood would run like rivers in New York City. He had heard reports that the Humans had constructed some sort of holy monument at the Harbour, but he cared little for such things, they would be swept away beneath the unrelenting tide of Werewolf power. But first... first would come the leeches, the bloodsuckers that plagued the city and claimed for themselves a large, if not the largest section for themselves. He looked forwards to the charge against Uptown more than anything.
Shifting his gaze to face those assembled, Blake “Havok” Anderson allowed a devilish grin to overtake his features at the prospect of ending one or more Alpha lives and increasing the size of his pack, though he would honour Diana and not move directly towards the death of his brothers and sisters, but rather let them antagonize. Raising a fist in the air, he released an oddly wolfish howl from his throat, a signal that he was prepared for the meeting to begin, which was replied to by a responding howl from each of the other twenty-four Alphas: The meeting had begun, war would be upon them soon. The question, at last, was asked...
“Who wishes to speak first?”

"Sir," Zane said, stepping forward. "it apears the humans have grown smart enough to bless the water. This is going to greatly reduce the amount of water we will have for the wounded as well as simply staying alive. We should quickly find a way to address this problem before it proves fatal. Though it will also be a hindrance to those damn bloodsuckers it is going to give the humans an edge they should not have. Though it will be a problem for the traitors who have joined the humans and protected them, they might have a water source for them." Though he didn't like speaking to having directly, plus the thought of calling him sir made him cringe mentally, this was vital to the lycan victory and could be a fatal handicap shold they not prepare for it.

"Not blessed," Diana murmured quietly, looking at the area around the showers with what could only be called disgust. The grass that had been touched by the altered water had already begun to wither.

And therein lies our problem. As much as she disliked technology of any sort, she couldn't deny that humans had fashioned many a device that had aided the pack's survival. She knew next to nothing about plumbing, but she suspected that somewhere, a break in the pipe had allowed potentially toxic impurities to leak into the water.

Still, she kept her voice down. It was not her place to challenge, not about something so trivial as this in a meeting of such great importance.

Oruanos paused at the outskirts of Central Park. The air hung heavy with rotting vegetation as it always had done since the lycans had taken over and caused the place to become overgrown. None the less, it was too quiet. Without more than a moment's hesitation however, Oruanos resumed his pace and set off into the undergrowth, appearing untroubled by the lack of sound. In truth he was alert, ever nerve tuned to the slightest change in atmosphere or the faintest noise, he just wasn't showing it. Before long he heard it, the faint click in the bushes behind him that signalled he was being stalked, again, he gave no sign that he had heard it.
All of a sudden, Oruanos whirled around to snatch an unfortunate lycan out of the air, mid-pounce, and slam him into the ground, the assailant's claws scratching feebly at his shoulder, some distance short of his throat. Oruanos held his claws to the lycan's throat, forcing him to de-morph or have his windpipe perforated as he tried to breathe. As the wolfen visage faded away to be replaced with a more human one, pale and with a tuft of sandy hair, Oruanos recognised him and helped him to his feet. "Derek," he greeted, "I don't know whether to be insulted you try to kill me or appalled you suck so bad, y'know what I'm saying?" The lycan gave a sheepish grin as Oruanos continued, "What happened while I was gone?"
Oruanos had to blink twice and check he'd heard correctly when Derek gave his reply. "Alina dead?" he queried, "So that makes me..."
"Yep."
"So that why you tried to kill me."
"I'm not the only one, Keval has challenged you at dawn. He took a lot of losses at the harbour and wants to merge our packs to bring his strength back up. Oh and Havok has called a gathering."
"Then what the hell we still doing here?"
The two lycans went into half morph to travel faster and loped off towards the centre of Central Park where the rest of the lycans were gathering. Quite frankly Oruanos didn't care if Havok went apeshit that a new alpha was late, he had more to worry about if he was to fight Keval in the arena at daybreak.

Havok glanced to where one of the more 'influential' Alphas stood, his authority gleaned from the sheer magnitude of his pack - ten members, a nigh-incontestable number. The other black-haired male spoke in a booming voice, his chest permanently puffed out whilst his brown eyes gazed over the assembled, “The Humans are of no consequence, weakling creatures whom place all their faith within a non-entity that they believe gives them blessings. Their Inquisitors are all that stands between them and their destruction, something that will soon be rectified. But first we must turn our attention–” He was abruptly cut off by another Alpha, a lither male with blonde hair and blue eyes, a snort emanating from him, “You may be confident in their destruction, Rakan, but we are all not so foolish. You are blinded by your own numbers – we have reports that the Lightwielder is here in New York, as well as the Bloodtwister. What do you say to that?”
An agitated chorus of growls and snarls resulted from this, Rakan fixing the other with a furious gaze, he had planned on keeping that information hidden, it seemed. In reply another Alpha closer to Havok spat on the ground, red hair brushed from his golden eyes as he spoke, “We are talking about issues that are of no immediate consequence. The Humans are an annoyance, but they are the least of our worries – our attentions should be turned instead to our blood enemies, those bloodsucking leeches in Uptown!”
This pronouncement was met with approval and howls from those gathered, Rakan and his rival still exchanging furious looks as a silver-haired Alpha on the other side of the clearing from Havok took the opportunity to interject, “I personally believe that the time has come for less discussion and more action–” He paused and raised an eyebrow when Oruanos appeared. Odd, it must have been a miscount then, now all twenty-five Alphas were gathered. He continued unperturbed, “–in terms of our advance to Uptown. As it stands now the Brood is increasing their holdings inch by inch, they have the largest landmass in the entirety of the city. If they are allowed to move further into Midtown they’ll be at our borders!”
Again a chorus of snarls and growls answered this in both anger and bloodlust, Havok actually rolling his eyes and chuckling under his breath. Next to him, the red-haired Alpha snapped to look at him and spoke, “What exactly is so funny, Havok? You call yourself an Alpha and yet your pack is one blind woman and a lot of empty space. Why are you even here?” Silence met this as all waited for a response, in accordance with the sheer severity of the insult – to denounce someone as an Alpha was almost a blood challenge. Havok raised his head and locked his gray oculars on the other male, their depths tinted red from the fury building already within him, “You may say I am not an Alpha, Dietrich, but it will be your pack that rectifies that, unless you wisely shut your mouth before I rip it from your insolent skull.”
Dietrich’s pack responded to this with a violent chorus of howls and openly aggressive snarls, some even half-shifting before their Alpha stopped them, his golden eyes locked on Havok’s gray ones, a frown touching his lips; “Your fury knows no bounds, Havok, it will be your death one day.” To which the other replied, “Not before it is yours.” A little ways away, somewhere between Rakan and the Silver-haired Alpha, a sandy-brown haired, shorter-than-average Alpha threw up his arms; “Is this a meeting or a pissing contest? You should both take care to remember where you are and why you’re here. Our enemies are the Humans and Leeches, not one another, not yet. Show some unity, you’re acting like a pack of rabid dogs.”
Havok snapped his gaze from Dietrich as the shorter male spoke, grunting in acquiesce to his words, “You are correct, Nate, we shouldn’t be acting like pups. I move to second Sion’s proposal–” He indicated to the silver-haired male “–and vote we should instead develop a battle plan for attacking the Brood.” This was met by sounds of assent, whilst Rakan threw his attention to Oruanos, “You there, Oruanos, you are new to the position of Alpha. What is your opinion?” Havok and the others also turned their attention to Oruanos, curious now – he was the newbie, they wanted to know his position.

Diana's eyes surveyed the assembled Alphas, tensing as she saw Havok, all too eager to challenge his comrades. Her own instincts screamed at her to defend her Alpha, and the runes on her staff glowed in warning at the mention of vampires, but she remained still. The older Alphas would see such discipline, would remember it when Havok's pack became larger than it was now.

With amusement, she noticed that most of the pack-brothers that saw her looked at her with disdain. While she was indeed blind by the standards of the pack, her sight was still as good as any human's. And she took great care to move her head almost imperceptibly towards each individual that looked at her, gauging their responses to the situation.

As for herself... she hated the bloodsuckers. In their disregard for the natural balance, they were almost as great as the humans. Their physical prowess, however, made them nearly as deadly as the demons....

One thing caught her attention, though. Bloodtwister... was that what those within the pack called the inquisitor known as Annexious? A faint smile crossed her face. Their savagery and dislike of subtlety made most of the Alphas fear him, apparently. Well, that, at least, could be helped. She had been thinking about her encounter with the inquisitor, and slowly, an idea for dealing with the humans had taken root....

Still, the older Alpha- Sion? had been right. The vampires were their first concern...

"What is your plan havok? Do we attack the humans first or the blood suckers? Or even what of the lycans who have joined the humans. I already know of three, two of them I have a score to settle with." Zane was growing more impatient. He wanted o get killing those two out of the way, because they would be an issue in the aussaul on the humans, or at least that's what he was using as an excuse. His little brother and his whore were a thorn in his side now, and he wanted some revenge. He didn't even care if he had to kill Rez or not, they were traitors.

Oruanos had listened carefully to everything that had been said after his arrival and the remaining two members of the pack that was now his had filled him in on what had been said prior to his arrival. He listened, for now without comment, learning everything he could about each of the people he would have to work with if the horde were indeed uniting against a common enemy, even if they couldn't agree yet who that enemy was. His mind was distracted however, still wondering how he was going to win that fight the next day. Everything about his combat style hinged on the versatility his shapeshifting provided, letting him vary his attacks in a heartbeat between claws and firearms. In the arena, the latter were not permitted.
Oruanos' thoughts were drawn back to the moment as Rakan demanded his opinion, pointing out that he was the one present who had held the position of alpha for the least time. 'Yeah, and probably won't be holding it by tomorrow afternoon.' he thought dryly, but perhaps no-one else here knew that. That hope was short lived, for before Oruanos could formulate a reply, Keval cut across. "I don't think we should let his thoughts concern us, Rakan," he growled, "by tomorrow they won't matter. I've challenged him in the arena at dawn."
"Curb your overconfidence, Keval, you not beaten me yet." Oruanos replied in a tone altogether more confident than he felt.
"How about we get this out of the way now then?" Keval hissed, taking a step forward. His pack, numbering six including their alpha, all threw back their heads and howled out their alpha's challenge, while Oruanos heard his two returning the cry.
"Yeah, you'd like that, wouldn't you?" Oruanos sneered, "I've just come back from a fight with a vampire assassin and havn't had any rest in days while you been sitting on you tail for the last week making sure you in the best condition. I'm not stupid, Keval. We will fight tomorrow at dawn." This earned a few snarls from the opposite camp, but all present knew that Oruanos was well within his rights to decline the challenge since a later one had already been agreed.
Finally able to speak without being interrupted, Oruanos turned his attention back to the gathering. "To control the humans is to control the brood." he began, "They need them as much as we do, to feed, to multiply. We deny them the humans and we force them to stop hiding in the shadows of their island.
"Long island is easy for the vampires to hold as it connected to the rest of New York by few road bridges, each of them acting as a chokepoint against attackers. If we to push across them we find ourselves attacked from three sides by the best vampires while our own numbers are made useless by the confined bridges. If we swim to the island it would not be long for them to know what we do and we would be gunned down before we reach the banks.
"As for their fortress itself, that is unassailable. Our numbers are great, but we do not outnumber the number of bullets they can load into a machine gun. The walls are smooth and cannot be scaled while the door could survive a tank crashing into it. No, we fight the brood we do it on our own terms and the way to do that is to control the food supply.
"Vampire assassins can go toe to toe with our pack brothers easily and there must be at least a hundred of them. Against humans all we have to worry about are their inquisitors, and only a select few of them are real threats. If we play it smart, we can take them down either by isolating them and overwhelming them, or by taking advantage of their weaknesses. When the vampires built their palace they tore down the surrounding city blocks to deny any attackers the cover they would need to get close. The humans have not had the time to do that for their installation on the harbour which means that while formidable, it is assailable. If we take the docks we control the human supply lines into New York. Without fresh troops, armaments and medical supplies they will not be long for this world and the brood will fall with them."

"But let us not forget that the humans have vampires and lycans fighting for them. Though the numbers are few they should be eliminated before our main aussault." Zane spoke up. "As well as the head holy man, he can produce a large amount of holy light that can wipe out an army in seconds. We need to focus on their most powerful and then take out the stragglers. Hell the best guy in there military is a seargeant! They will not be difficult to take down."

Hiding in the shadows, as he had been for some time Triarii watched and waited. It had become a way of life as the lone wolf traveled across almost a thousand god forsaken miles. Alone, almost a full year, a drop, a blink, an instant in the eyes of history but to Triarii it felt like an eternity. Of course alone really isn’t the word to describe keeping an eye out for the many monstrosities that would enjoy nothing more than a snack or target practice.

Before him was brethren, more of his kind although he had met others before he rarely found packs that accepted outsiders. So he did what he always did, changed into his wolf form black as the night and quick as the wind. The same wind which had carried the scent of this meeting to him in the first place and voices to his ears now. These packs were aggressive, or something has them agitated. this may not be a good time to make an entrance he thought. He had been careful to approach from downwind and to stay as far off as he could while still being able to hear. Sooner or later they would spot him for their senses would surely not allow him to go unnoticed at this range, yet in wolf form, they may think nothing of him or so he hoped.

Havok's lips parted in a savage grin as Oruanos spoke, listening to his plan with a mixture of approval and gratitude. Approval for the manner in which the speech was delivered and gratitude for bringing to the forefront a plan which the Lycanthrope clan could execute without much worry for internal fractures. Numbers and raw power alone would mean that a siege of the human stronghold could prove not only decisive, but devastating. Without humans the Vampires would die off slowly, strangled by their own reliance on human cattle. The Lycans would become the Master race, for they could reproduce and their food could come from any living creature - except of course Demons. Stepping forwards and allowing his voice to be heard, Havok spoke firmly; "I support this plan."
Next came Sion, eyeing Oruanos with a newfound kind of respect as he spoke as well, "I too support this plan." He nodded to Havok across the clearing, showing that he approved of the other male's leading of the voting process - things were looking up.
"I support this plan," boomed Rakan, "and volunteer to lead our forces." This brought a collective eyeroll from those assembled - Havok even snorting as he heard this declaration. The large Rakan was a fearsome warrior, but everyone knew his power lay in brawn instead of brain.
Dietrich was the next to throw in his support behind Oruanos' proposal, stating simply, "If we do not strike now - they will fortify beyond our besieging capabilities. That would be a fatal occurence should we allow it to happen. Striking now, whilst the prey is not expecting it, will be the best course of action."
Following Dietrich came Nate who, unsurprisingly to anyone there, threw his support with one hundred percent optimism, "It's a fantastic idea! Why didn't I think of it? Good on you, Oruanos! This is what unity really is, you old bastards could learn a thing or two from this pup." To which the others all gave groans or sighs of exasperation - his perpetual good nature disgusted and amused most of the clan.
Following Nate came the rest of the assembled Alphas; Zakat with his long electric blue hair tied into a ponytail, the blonde Ziekiel whom sported a vampire-fang necklace he never removed; Isaac with the messy brown hair and cold emerald eyes; Jonas with his ever-present smirk and lazy appearance of disinterest; Mikhail whom exuded an aura of blankness and retained the greatest poker face in the clan - even in a full morph. Lazarus who simply regarded everyone as, in his statement, boring pieces of bat feces that provided only mild entertainment when they were killing one another.
After Lazarus came Jason, the black-haired, blue-eyed heartthrob that - for some 'unexplainable' reason - had a pack consisting mainly of stunningly attractive females. Joseph who just shrugged, brushed some red bangs from his eyes and said bluntly; "Best idea out of a collection of shitty ones." Something that brought laughs and growls in equal measure. William followed Joseph with a spit of tobacco after brushing aside his odd purple hair - it was a mystery how he constantly acquired it - and grunt of approval. Next in line was Rakan's closest ally Jacob, who merely flipped off Keval and threw his support behind Oruanos' plan that way, much to everyone but Keval's amusement.
Following Jacob was Nathaniel who, despite popular expectation, nodded his agreement to the plan. It was a surprise to the majority of the Alphas, as Nathaniel usually vehemently opposed any plan that wasn't his own - of course, he also usually spoke first, which meant he was most likely just going with majority. Thereafter came Julius who, in his unorthodox manner, cackled his support and did a little jig in anticipation, causing his pack to facepalm at his behaviour. Next with a dirty look in Julius' direction came Prometheus, named for one of the greek gods and yet oddly not quite what one would expect. He was tall, slim, red-haired and permanently pissed off with an air of self-centered superiority around him, "I say we kill us some humans, but without Julius' terrible dancing."
This was met with laughs and snorts in equal measure, as well as an unidentified Lycan yelling out "So we can be horrified by yours, Prometheus?" Which resulted in redoubled laughter as the next Alpha, a shorter but more solid brute named Ronald spoke to give his support, adding that "The only thing that could lose us this victory is if we splinter from within. Let's try to avoid that. Apart from that, the human military is a non-element and the traitor Lycan will be dealt with." Nodding his agreement was the next in line, a black-haired and dark-skinned man named Roy who also threw his support behind Oruanos. Following Roy was Siegfried, a skinny but deadly fast Lycanthrope who pointed out that Oruanos was the newest and yet spoke more sense than the oldest, to which he recieved snarls and growls in return - not that he seemed to care a bit.
The Alpha Samuel as next in line to give his verdict which, like the others, was in favour of the plan - not that it would matter if he disagreed at any rate, since the vast majority had voted and it would be put into action regardless. However, more yesses meant a smoother operation and everyone wanted that. Second to last came Vincent who just shrugged and said "Majority rules" and left it at that.
Finally only Keval was left and as the Alpha opened his mouth, Havok cut across him swiftly, causing a pique of interest among the clan; the bloodrager almost never spoke this much, "Before Keval makes his decision, I would like to offer Oruanos a deal, which he is free to accept or decline. As all of you know, I have for some time skirted my duties as a Son of Bloodbane and failed to embrace my Alpha birthrite. Finally this has changed and as of now I have the first member of my pack, Diana." He paused a moment to allow them to process his words before continuing on, "Oruanos is not a blood leader, he is a fierce warrior but he was not born into the Alpha mantle. His leader was slain by who I am guessing is the Bloodtwister or Lightflinger, in which case it was Alinar's own fault for being a fool. However, I would like to give Oruanos a chance at being part of a pack once more and not to be tied down by the duties of an Alpha, as I know he enjoys to wander. I am, in short, putting out there the possibilityof him melting what is now his pack into mine and - in accordance with the laws of the clan - I will accept challenges placed against he and any of his packmates." He turned to Keval as he said this, gray eyes shining with a stormy bloodthirst, "Which means, Keval, you'll be challenging me for the packrites."

"And so the plot thickens." Zane muttered under his breath. "Havok, I have a proposition for you. Considering My pack was wiped out in the recent aussault on the harbor while I was away, I will join your pack on the condition that the traitor lycans Rez Wolfbain and Avalon Roman are mine to kill. After that you can massacre the rest of them yourself for all I care." Zane was getting overly eager to kill those two himself, and this was his chance.

Genocide… they speak of genocide in an instant his mind ripped him back to the past, to his pack, home. For a second his emotions got the better of him, he found himself growling before he had a chance to regret it. He silenced himself and began to clear his head. He had long learned the hard lesions of being a scourge, blight, a werewolf. The truth is that his kind are hunted and disliked. There is a chance this was all retaliation to attacks and he was no longer naive enough to think they hadn’t happened. It took a few moments but he brought his breathing to normal but his heart seemed to be trembling. He could only wonder what he was about to step into.

Diana suddenly found herself the object of quite a few more glances, most this time from the Alphas present. This time, it took every ounce of discipline she possessed to remain unruffled- like it or not, she could feel the natural instinct to submit to so many strangers that were obviously her superiors.

And underneath it all, she could feel the spirits themselves, whispering to those who would listen....

A cursory glance told her that none of the others here had attuned themselves to nature as she had. Most of their eyes were blind to what even the weakest of demons, and even some of the humans understood- there was more to power than brute strength or blinding speed.

Perhaps, with a bit of cooperation and a great deal of luck, she might make them see...

Not now, though. She heard Havok utter the words of challenge, and her own blood seemed to sing in answer, willing to embrace a battle that was not her own for the sake of the pack...

Truly, the sons of Bloodbane possessed great strength, in ways that not even they could fully comprehend. Had this been what had driven the traitor among them, the dog who licked the boots of the accursed Inquisitors, to live outside the pack?

One day, perhaps, she would hunt him down and ask him, before she tore out the weakling's throat.

Oruanos paused for a moment to consider Havok's offer. He didn't know if he could win a fight against Keval in the arena. Anywhere else he would've thought his chances were quite good, his hybrid combat style would be devastating against a lycan who just sought to close with him in melee all the time, but there were no firearms permitted in the arena. Yet here he was being thrown a way out, without even having to work for it. There was just one problem.
Right now his battle plan was popular, mainly because it was a new perspective for a faction bogged down by a bloody stalemate, but it still required those who followed it to have some beleif in him. If he, Oruanos, declined this challenge he would be showing himself as coward and support for the plan would dissipate in a heartbeat. Concerns for the horde as a whole aside, Oruanos had waited for just such an opportunity for what felt like a lifetime. He wasn't going to give it up without a fight.
"I thank you, Havok, for spirit in which your offer was intended, but I am no coward." he answered, then turned to glare at Keval as he added "Let it not be said that Oruanos walks away from a fight." He had expected a sneer or a snarl from Keval in response, but all he got was a nod of approval.

Havok paused for a moment and eyed Zane critically, evaluating the male with instincual intuition. He was young, healthy and strong, but there was an element about him that the Alpha knew as ambition. If he could put a claw through his pack-leader's back for advancement then he'd do it. Smiling at the thought of an attempt like that with Diana around on top of his own honed senses, havok deduced that giving the pup a go had a possibility of paying off - who knew, he may even manage to make the little bastard loyal. He paused a moment more to build the anticipation, then acquiesced with only the smallest of nods and a twitch of the fingers on his right hand to beckon the younger Lycan over.

Shifting his attention to Oruanos and awaiting his answer patiently, the words that met his ears were only mildly dissapointing, but at the same time he had to respect the way in which they were delivered. As much as he would have loved to pin Keval down and tear out his throat like it was paper, he could understand wishing to battle your own foes and relate to it accordingly. Smiling his smile and nodding in acceptance, Havok turned to Keval with a sadistic glint in his eyes, the stormy grays swirling with a deep and powerful fury waiting to be unleashed; "Another day, Keval."

Not bothering to pay attention to his clan-brother's response, Havok directed his attention instead to the gathering as a whole and spoke, one brow raised as he consulted them, "Is there anyone else who wishes to speak on a matter of concern to the greater pack? If not, we shall move to the votes for the mantle of leadership in this attack."

A big, sharp toothed grin spread over Zane's face. those two were his. Once a deal with a high alpha was made it couln't be broken by anyone else. Revenge was finally in his grasp, he would just have to wait a little longer. He might have had them a few days ago if he hadn't encountered that big dumb demon. He had a scent trail even, it seemed something always kept him. No mater, the aussault on the human area would be soon, and they would surely try to protect it, they were his, no doubt about it.

Carefully, Diana stepped forward. As a former outcast- turned second of a fledgling pack, she was unsure of her status, but something needed to be said.

"Attack plans are all well and good," she began, surprised by the fact that her voice seemed to carry a great deal more than she remembered, "but I would remind everyone present that victory means nothing if our own home becomes a tainted, uninhabitable wasteland. The corruption of this park by arcane forces is a very real danger, and even if it is one that we can simply accept presently, there may very well come a time when we are incapable of surviving its effects. I would advise that any proper attack plan also contain a contingency for dealing with a major demonic incursion onto our territory."

She could only hope that some of the older alphas might see the wisdom in her words. She knew precious little about the nature of demonic magic, but her instincts told her that the formation of a new rift in Central Park, large enough to pose a serious threat to humans, bloodsuckers, and the pack alike, was a very real possibility. In the even more immediate future, she felt that the demons could not be trusted, especially if this new assault left the pack's numbers dangerously low....

I enjoy being flowery as much as the next guy! :euphoria: Err... tree.

Yes, I went there. I came back, too, in time for tea... what? That was your cucumber sandwich? Well, it's mine now. :P

Samuel grinned at the development of the conversation, it seemed he would not have to deal with as many idiots and simpletons as he had feared, there were at least two who had brains in their skulls. Taking the opportunity silence offered him he spoke up.

"The blind one has a point brothers. If we move into all out war both the demons and the blood suckers will take the chance to attack us. If our territory become uninhabitable to us we will be faced without a place to strike from, therefore for the time we must conceal our efforts and attempt to soften up the humans so that when we do have to strike in the open our victory is assured, undeniable and cheap. An added bonus in a covert beginning to our campaign would be that we can use the resources we cannot risk using to fortify and protect the territory we hold now."

Sighing he rested his head on a fist, "The problem is that we can not fight magic with tooth and claw." Pausing Samuel decided to ask the sightless woman a question. "Blind one" he called, his tone speaking nothing of scorn or disdain and everything of respect, it was rare to see someone survive without the gift of sight. "Do you think you could stop an arcane advance into our realm? Given the required support of coarse?"

Havok nodded in agreement to this and growled his support. Attacking both the hellfiends and humans was a risk that the clan could not afford to take and to lose kin en masse would cripple and weaken the packs, possibly beyond internal redemption. It would takes months, years to build up the strength of the werewolves again and by then it would likely be too late; the Humans, Demons and Vampires would have already fortified their holdings and it would just be a matter of time before the clan was wiped off the face of the earth.

Despite this, he had to consider what Dana had said about the park and the arcane energies destroying it. It was a fact, he mused, that the area was a place of cultural importance and more importantly habitat to the lycanthrope and its destruction would be not only regrettable, but possibly catastrophic. Peering at Samuel with a raised brow, the Alpha grinned toothily as he spoke to Dana. It was good that the others looked to his Beta for advice in such a gathering, no matter if it was directly linked to the enroaching war or not. Either way it would serve to increase the influence he and she held and eventually lead to more joining their pack.

In the end, it just brought him closer to being named Bloodbane's heir.

Oruanos snarled impatiently; it seemed that only a few moments after his pack brothers and sisters had welcomed his plan, they were tearing it apart like a fresh carcass while half the most coverted morsels went to waste. Most of the complaints seemed to revolve around a fear that Central Park would be lost in the effort.
“What is Central Park?” he roared indignantly over the argument. “A square of land: that’s what! We are not like the bloodsuckers and the meat; while they cower behind high walls and static defenses we have no need to hold a specific location. Even if we do lose Central Park, and I not saying we will, it will not be the equal of the blow we have struck against the humans.”
The new alpha turned to face Diana, aware that she probably couldn’t tell if he was talking to her or not, but indifferent to that fact. “You yourself admitted the greatest threat to our base is the arcane. What is there that any of us can hope to do about that? All we can do is cut it off at the source and I’d rather face hellspawn magic than inquisitor holy arts. If you worried about a new rift, then why the fuck we sitting on top of the old one?”
Without pausing to let her reply, Oruanos addressed the whole gathering once more, “We not have time to wait and see what the demons may or may not do while we sit here on our tails. As Dietrich said, this opportunity not last forever. With each day the humans add to their fortifications on the harbour and ship in more heavy weapons and re-enforcements. If we allow this to continue we may as well be giving the inquisitors our pelts.”
He could scarcely believe that there were those among the pack who couldn’t see this plan for what it was: an opportunity that they couldn’t afford to pass up. If the humans managed to dig in around the harbour and warehouse district there would be no way to get them out of it and with their supply lines by sea assured the humans could strike at other locations throughout the city with irresistible force. The lycan was greatly dispirited that there were others who were too stupid to understand that simple fact. It reminded him of why he normally fought alone.
My loyalty is a double edged blade: I will stand by you while what you do is right and just, but I will never support you when doing so would force me to betray what I believe.
