Hey guys...post here, i'll have my records of the rp up soon.. Information Regarding Distant Stars Arius Year: 3728 Summary: In the year 3629 the Geratzul entered the Human Empire and laid waste to it. For 99 years man and Geratzul fought. Eventually the planet Cax in the Mort system stopped the Geratzul advance, 3000 light years from Earth. The Human Empire had once spanned 23000 light years. Cax, the heavily defended and armed planet smashed the spearhead assault of the Geratzul and kept them back. Frontlines formed between in front of Cax and the Geratzul are halted at every turn now that the Humans have secured a sturdy defence. Primary Ship: Name: Achilles Variation: Second Generation [2G] Battleship (Newest class is Sixth Generation.) Crew: Carl Beshtock - Captain. Dane Luck - Helm Pilot. Oriana - Mechanic. Rex - Gunhand/Mechanic. Ghost - Soldier. Kate Downs - Government attachment, Overseer. Details: 6 Kilometres long. Half a Kilometre wide. Upgraded weapon systems - Projectile, Energy-based, Prow-mounted plasma cannon. Secondary Ship: Name: Emerald Sword Variation: Prototype Missile Gunboat Crew: Seth Barns - Commander. Standard Crew. Details: Designated File Navy Ranks - Admiral of the Fleet - Admiral - Vice-Admiral - Rear-Admiral - Commodore (not actually a flag officer.) - Captain - Commander - Lieutenant Commander - Lieutenant - Lieutenant, junior grade - Ensign - Midshipman Lore Religion Religion was officially disbanded 1,648 years from the present year of the role play. It was around the year 2072 when man truly began venturing into the stars. The discovery and proper investigation of the working of the cosmos and the creation of planets and stars, not to mention the discovery of other lifeforms (fauna and wild beasts) began to cast serious doubt on the preachings of Christianity and other major religions. In the year 2085, when the first colonies had been established beyond the Solar System the Church began to feel threatened, their blind faith faltering in the face of cold logic and reason. They took military action in their panic, attempting to sabotage space belts and launching stations. By then though they had lost too much support, and retaliation from the hired protection armies of individual companies and organizations was swift, followed by the Government Coalition of Earth, who didn't want to be seen as doing nothing to protect and help the progression of mankind, or be usurped by the ridiculously rich corporations who funded the colonization projects and manufactured the space fairing vessels. Churches of all faith were burned to the ground and members of the clergy gunned down by the mercenary armies, despite the best attempts of the Government to avoid bloodshed. Employees of the corporations followed in their wake, joined by civilians swayed to the cause and thirsty for blood on the mob mentality. Any instances of religion on the recently established colonies were quickly dealt with by such angry mobs, who saw the religious as a backward people who were trying to keep them from their destiny of spreading into the Galaxy. On Earth, where the true religious presence was, the Church of Christianity attempted to spark an all out war. The Arabic faiths had already been badly mauled in the America-Middle East War and were in no position to resist the pogroms. The war was short lived, and religion was stamped out in its cradle, overwhelmed by the new corporations and their mercenary armies and unprotected by a helpless Government. Having faith in a God of any kind was seen as an offence, an implicit crime. Those who were caught bearing any kind of hint at religion were killed by mobs of roaming civilians or gunned down by the mercenary soldiers. It was almost a return to the Medieval Ages and the witch hunts, except with an ironic twist of circumstances. By 2090, five years later, very few members of the clergy had survived, forced underground by the violence. It is from these few that the new fanatic order arises. To be religious in these times is considered barbaric and to proclaim it openly would result in a loss of career and serious abuse. To use phrases from the old religion would be heavily frowned on and result in great suspicion towards you. To date, the only religious activity of any kind in the past 1,648 years was the recent (Year 3728) sabotage of the Cax Orbital Defences during the Invasion of Cax. This proves that their influence is highly limited, or heavily under cover. |

We save all of our own posts for just this kind of occation. This however still does not make us happy. For now we will continue our vacation as planned and return on monday. Perhapse then something resembling DR will exist here.

Sorry guys I was taking my holidays! I couldn't inform you because before I went away I unexpectedly took my computer for upgrades so I didn't have time to post! No fear though, I am returned and the show will go on. And Kudos to the Fox! Without your records this would be tricky indeed!
