As Condra came, he wondered first of what Corem would do in response, wait for the outcome, or take a shot. As the luminescent flames came bursting forward, and then quickly after the blazing heat right in front of him, the swordsman could feel the barrage on his senses to be quite acute. Yet adaption was something he was good at, she would attack with her sword of course, if she struck the flames in front of him. She had chosen to release them relatively close to him. He had avoided them, and as her blade came towards his back, he placed both hands on his sword and blocked her sword attack with all of his strength, trying to prevent her from being able to hold her sword, and use her fire magic. He shifted his weight so that he could remain in place.

Then he saw it out of the corner of his eye. He couldn't be distracted while being confronted by Condra, but he knew that something was coming towards them, and he hoped that it would hit her. Such a clever move, and he wasn't sure what Condra was thinking in attacking him first. He would focus on staying on ground with Condra, he was certain he would be able to keep up with her moves as a swordsman, and hopefully whatever intervention Corem brought would turn the magical tide of this battle.
