Shops; What? Spend money? That's unheard of!

Yeah, shops. Now, I've seen multiple shop systems. Although each has their own good qualities, they also have their flaws. Improper pricing (well, moreso unbalanced), generic feeling, lack of quantity/quality... Etc. etc. I have an idea for the shops here at this wonderful site.

Weapons.
I love weapons. But you know what? Put them against spells in any other site and they are next to useless! Unless!! you add spells TO the weapons. Now, this would be nice, if people actually wanted any magic. So perhaps there should be some weapons with magical aspects built in from the metal. NOT from the forging or added on for whatever reason.

Armor.
Armor is great! It keeps people alive! But yet again, magic is needed to stand against magic. I propose the same as above. Metal with magical aspects, or better worded, supernatural aspects.

Spells.
I can't stress my love of spells enough. They are GREAT! But I do so hate the spellswords running around, and the finger wavers who outmatch ANY NORMAL fighter. If someone doesn't want to use any spells or any super outmatched magic on their equipment, they'll fall to any spellsword or finger waver UNDER THE NORMAL CONDITIONS. So let's do something nice for our fair fighters out there. Let's even the odds. I say a good system of simple spells that equal out to simple equipment. Then throw in slightly more powerful spells that equal out to improved equipment. So on and so forth. KEEP IT BALANCED. Unbelievable, right? Uh huh, that's what I thought. Another idea, is that if you wanna run around swingin' a zweihander and wearing full plate, YOU CAN'T CAST THE MORE POWERFUL SPELLS. I get tired of seeing the constant spellsword who walks around with a great big weapon, powerful metallic and heavy armor, and with muscles that make Arnold look like a wimp, but then start throwing spell after spell from a list they have that goes on and on. I don't care how old your character is. I don't care how much time they've spent on both swordsmanship and spell research. They can't master both, so sit your ass down and listen closely. If you want the more powerful weapons/armor, you give up the more powerful spells. If you want the more powerful spells, you give up the more powerful weapons/armor. To give something to those who want to be one line only, the best weapons/armor are given at the loss of all spells; the best spells are given at the loss of all weapons/armor. With this system, all of those demigod spellswords are shrunk. Naturally most wouldn't like this idea. They don't want to give up their super powerful, master of all trades character! That's just unfair! Yeah, I'm so cruel.

Psionics.
Most of you wouldn't know this. Let me put it simple: Mind. Powahs. So fricken awesome. I love psionics, though I don't know everything about it. Before we add this, we'll have to do some balancing acts. But let me just explain some things. They get some REALLY nice mental abilities. BUT. They lose all chances to use weapons, armor and spells. Now, minor psionics can be obtained by magic users and sword swingers, but they don't match the whole of psionics. So yeah.

Equipment.
Now, most sites allow all minor things to just be gotten for free. This is kewl, but I'd like to think people have to work a bit for their stuff. Not just suddenly get it. I get how people don't wanna spend their precious money on simple things, but look at real life. You gotta do it there too. So I'm thinking a system involving mundane items also having to be bought. Such as backpacks, torches, clothing, tents, bedrolls, etc. Simple clothing is free. Past that... price raises as value does.

Money.
Well, I think each post should be something like... 1 gold. 25 gold items are a lot less intimidating than 125 gold items for potential buyers. Past that, I have an idea for an extra monetary system. Something like... Platinum. Use it to purchase things for less, but you just can't get these easily. It's like an award system. Someone recommends someone to get some platinum for doing something good or of that sort, and I approve or deny the recommendation.

Crafting.
I like this idea. It will be difficult, but whatever. I have an idea. They pay for certain materials to craft. Then they post in a crafting forum. I then throw up some random variables, and they succeed, or fail. Then they also possibly get better or worse than what they paid for. So in the end, they may get their money's worth, they may not. It gives a nice little feel to it, allows from chance item creation, and it's easy to do and maintain.

If anyone has any other ideas on a shop/craft system that'd work better, let me know.
Okay, so before anyone bitches about my horrible systems, they're in the works! So either help, or sew your damn mouth shut and sit your ass down. Thank you.

Here's the weapon ideas I currently have for the shops. No images yet, but they may be made as things progress, or they will be found.

Okay, so as my last post shows I had an idea for a rather overly in depth shop. Well, to "finish" it sooner, I'm going to work on a simplified idea. Instead of going into incredible depth, I'll keep it plain and simple so that it doesn't take forever and become overwhelming.

So let's begin, shall we?
