This is a free-form role playing game, but it much follows the real death note world as close as possible. It takes part as if the other story hadn't existed, and this takes place instead. Ryuk, Light, L, everyone of those characters are gone.

Battling, and general roleplay.
You don't use any stats or figures to battle, it's just pure RP and based on how the person would respond. A battle rp might go as followed;

Example

It went as follows;
Player one: Attacked.
Player two: Dodged/got hit, attacked.

It would follow much like that. Each player alternating turns. Though not every RP has to be a battle, very little battle will be in this RP. It's up to the players what happen completely, from who dies to who lives. If you even obtain the Death Note, which will be a small chance. You will go through attempting to hide your identity and live a normal life, living crime on the side.

Consider it a full simulation of the wonderful world of Death Note. You work your way up important the ladder of importance, and eventually gain weapons and knowledge. If you're in some place, you cannot gain information from another place. Meaning, you have to be in the park to know what went in the park, you're shy of everything that the news didn't announce.

Roles
For the most part, there are roles in the game. Being a free roam game, we don't assign roles. We create a Death Note, and what happens of it is completely up to everyone else. What there can be is:

  • Television People
    Your role is to inform the world of what is happening. You get your information as cheap as possible, and how you get it can be dirty, or clean. Up to the players.

  • Kira
    The almighty holder of the Death Note. There can be multiple, but probably 1-2 at a time. This will be done to avoid mass killing, but even then, killing should be held to a minimum. Rely on your Shinigami[If you have one], and the basic rules printed in your book.

  • Shinigami
    You might follow the Kira, or you might just watch. But what you hear can't be relayed back to the Kira, unless it's done and approved by a admin.

  • Police/Investigation
    Your single role is to stop crime. Eventually the kira case might open, but it shouldn't be anything but heart attacks and usual deaths for awhile.

  • Gangs
    The Mafia, or other player created games that contribute a lot to the violent acts of the city. These people can meet anywhere from a secret tunnel under the park, or behind the mall. The police are supposed to fear these people.

Money
Money, money, money. You'll need this for a lot. Whether it's a gun, knife, bike, car. You'll need money for just about most things. Comes in handy with bribery, though. To get money you'll have to get a job, and get so much a day as long as you're actively visiting the site.

Travel
You don't have to pay for travel, or switching between places. When leaving one RP, though, you should announce where you're going somewhere in it. Much like, "Keith exited the school, facing the television studio he would head in that direction..hopefully reaching sometime." Buses, Trains, things like that don't cost money at all. They are only there to heighten RP, and help give that feel of the anime.

School
Every person /should/ go to school at least once before they die. Most being students don't just skip school, and teachers expect them to be there every now and then.

Killing with the Death Note
You should make sure with the person you're going to kill if it's okay, but it isn't required. You do need a face[had seen them somewhere] and a real name to kill them. If you have only one, you cannot do it. Also, to kill them, they have to be in your topic, or recently left. You merely roleplay writing the name and the cause of the death.
