I'm taking a photography seminar in school next year. We're using those big chunky black and white cameras, and we have to develop the film by ourselves, in those creepy dark rooms. So yeah. We have to take pictures of objects. Any random object. It could even be a person! Everyone else in the class is doing.. normal everyday stuff like.. cars, people, pencils, houses, trees. The usual. I.. wanted to be different! And creative! And unsual! So i come to you guys of all people for help. Basically, can you just tell me what to take pictures of? ANd let's be realistic, don't say something ridiculous like the Eiffel Tower(BEAT YOU TO IT NOHOPE.) I'll never be able to do it. Something unusual, but realistic. Lt's get to it! |

I don't know, take a picture of a dryer. You know, the one's with the windows you can see into with. Just stare at them normally is interesting enough. Seeing everything spin in a clockwise fashion. It gives me something to do when I'm washing my clothing. :) |

Take a picture that tells a story. Like, my sister (who does photography at uni) set up a series of three photos for Sleeping Beauty, where the prince ended up in a string vest drinking beer whilst the princess did the ironing. Or, something using masks. Again, my sister did a picture of her mate wearing a realistic pig's head mask standing in a supermarket next to the Pork freezers :P |

Hm...I'm not really sure if it counts as "objects," but not too long ago, I helped a friend make "shadow pictures" for a project. Basically, you set up an object so that it casts a shadow on the wall or the floor, and photograph the shadow. Through creative use of blankets, pillows, and other objects, we were able to make scenes as elaborate as a ship sinking in sight of a huge island, or a battle between tiny, futuristic robots. I'm not sure how well it would come out in black and white, but maybe it'll serve as inspiration, if nothing else. =P |

Just set your digi cam's exposure to manual and play with 1 view using several ISO modes. |

I did a film class once. Just walk around town. If you see what looks like a nice shot, frame it, and take it. That's how I got all my best ones. Until I dropped the camera and exposed the film. |
