Is there anyone here that is looking to go into a career in music other than me or is musically inclined? I'm going to be double majoring in Music Education & Music Performance at Rutgers. I play the Saxophone, Piano, and Percussion (for those who don't know..this is the drums, xylophone, drum set etc. basically anything u gotta hit to play) and im the keyboardist in a local rock band.

I'm not interested in music career-wise; but I play guitar, piano, trumpet, and percussion. I sing too, horribly though. I record songs and keep them hoarded on an external hard drive in a folder that says "To put on youtube"...but I never do.

Its been my dream for about 3-4 years now ._.
I can play alot of instruments:
Acoustic Guitar, Electric Guitar, Bass, Piano, Drums, Violin and the ancient art of tapping and annoying the shit out of your teacher :D!
I have very little knowledge of the Bass and Drums.
My strong point has to be the Acoustic Guitar and the Piano.
But the fucking F and B chord, minor and sharp annoy me to hell ._.

yes another ska lover....listen to any streetlight? Its my Senior Year in high school and my friends and i have been getting together and playing ska tunes for a while now but mostly from them. I was the alto sax section leader in my school for two years. Now im the lead alto in my jazz band....if anyone is interested in jazz ill post some of our performances in the future. As for AP Music Theory......I HATE PART WRITING RULES.

AP=advanced placement. its supposed college level courses offered in high school

and part writing rules are easy....the only thing I don't like is you're not allowed to leap a 7th. But it doesn't matter in your own writing.

and yea rainy both b and f are like chords I live on, such good keys

Oh, most of our music theory is done seperate from hs/college, which is really strange, most of the music courses at hs/uni focus on writing about tone colour and structure and pitch/duration and other conceptual bullshit <.<

Eh, as for the writing "rules" it's sort of just to keep you structured when you begin to learn writing, but yeah once you know the rules well enough you're allowed to break them x3 i break them a lot since i have to compose my own contemporary piece and i'm making mine programmatic, so i'm adding a lot of strange intervals and clusters xD

F is one of my favourite keys too =o
