Ok so I'm trying to add some of the zone meals & snacks in to my diet. I'm not fully going Zone because I'll end up over thinking what I can & can't eat, it'll end up driving me nuts & I'll just give up. So I've decided to try mixing a few zone meals & snacks into my diet & see how it goes. I'm also using www.sparkpeople.com to help me track what I'm eating. I did it last summer & it was a huge help to me. I also bought stuff for 1 block snacks (cottage cheese, apples, strawberries, grapes, celery, carrots etc) & I have them portioned out so I can just grab N go :)

Monday January 26th
Breakfast: 1 serving malt-o-meal brown sugar flavor (no added butter or anything! That's a 1st for me)
Snack: 1 1/2 handful of mixed nuts (almonds, peanuts, & cashews)
Lunch: 1/2 a chicken breast (baked with sour cream & bread crumbs on top), Rice & Homegrown green beans (I love my grandparents & their garden!)
Dinner: 1/2 of a grilled chicken breast, mixed steamed veggies & Couscous (roommate cooked dinner)

Tuesday January 27th
B: Quaker Instant Oatmeal, apple & cinnamon
L: Homemade chicken pot pie (One of the perks of working with your mom! Hey you can't argue when your mom says she brought you lunch!)
S:1 corn tortilla with a little bit of re fried beans & cheese- not the best I'm sure but I was trying to not eat girl scout cookies!
D: I made the 3 block meal chili from the Tillman Crossfit book. It was REALLY GOOD! I put the other two portions in dishes (one for lunch later this week & the other in the freezer for later).

Wednesday January 28th
B: Quaker Instant Oatmeal, cinnamon and spice, 1 slice Wheat Toast (with a little bit of butter) &
TAZO Passion Tea (made at home with very little sugar). I'm hoping it was better for me than coffee with cream.
S: 1/2 a handful of mixed nuts (almonds, peanuts, & cashews)
L: Homemade Vegetable beef soup (again one of the perks of working with your mom. 2 lunches in one week is a pretty rare treat though)
S: Planning on 1/2 an apple & some peanut butter
D: 1/2 a pita pocket with 2 slices of turkey lunch meat, a bunch of baby spinach & a little bit of Italian dressing.

Breakfast: 3 scrambled eggs, 1/4 cup black beans, 1/4 of an avocado, & a small tomato. I think I'm gonna cut it down to 2 eggs. When I first started working out 2 eggs weren't enough, but adding the beans & all I think it was to much food for me. I'm still working on my post work out breakfast stuff :)

Lunch:1 serving of the 3 block chili from the Tillman Crossfit book.
S: Frosted Sugar Cookie -stinking drug reps bringing cookies to the office!

S:Cashew (thanks Keisha)

D: 1/2 pita bread, with 2 slices Hormel Natural Choice Oven Roasted Chicken breast, (Nikki it says that 2 slices only has 6gm protein) fresh spinach and a little bit of italian dressing.
I also had a few Baked Cheeto- not very many I promise!

L: 1/2 a chicken breast (baked with sour cream & bread crumbs on top), Rice & Homegrown green beans - leftovers from earlier in the week :)

try cutting back on the salad dressing or make your own. they all tend to have a ton of sugar in them that you don't need.

I made a balsamic dressing that is really good - I'll get the "recipe"
