Al accepts the glass and gives it a hard look before drinking it. Anthony wasn't dumb, he assumes that he must have tested to make sure it's safe, but one can never be too careful. "My building is a shitstorm," he says with a grimace. "Your cousin or whatever is a fool, and he managed to get himself caught in one of the cells when that... whatever that was, happened. I told Luke to leave him there where he can't get into trouble." He glances back towards the open schoolhouse, but only for a moment as his forces himself to look elsewhere immediately. Without another word to Anthony he turns on the spot and pokes his head back into the sheriff's office. "Luke!" he calls, loudly enough to be heard but without shouting. "Are you done with the kid? Come on, I want to check out the schoolhouse. Leave Anthony to deal with things here, everyone else here was in his group anyway." |

Anthony walks over to Al "Actually Al, we thought it might be a good idea to go as one group to the school house, if you want someone to watch Jack I can, lord knows I've done it enough times to know how to make him understand and behave. But while your searching the house, why don't you look through that old church over there. I think it might hold somethings we might find useful but I seem to have other obligations to attend to."

Al frowns and shakes his head. "Might be a good plan, and I certainly don't condone running off on your own like a certain cousin of yours." His eyes flicker towards the jailroom door before returning to Anthony. "But for search and salvage jobs like these I've found small squads to work best. Of course, they're usually heavily armed and well trained..." his eyes roll and he shakes his head again in defeat. "Let's see what the rest of them think." He turns to the rest of the room. "Okay kids, one of two plans here. Either we split up, with most of us checking out the schoolhouse and some of us checking out the church, or we stick together and check them out one at a time, starting with the schoolhouse. If you don't have any opinions then I'll take command of this operation myself, so if you've got input now's the time to voice it." |

Catarina is finished waiting, and heads into the school house by herself, fully aware that she is alone, she didnt need help from those people anyway. She looks around checking to see what was inside, any source for the sounds that came from there momments ago. |

"Yeah, I left him in there. He's insistent on running off to that schoolhouse, and not listening to us. I'm going to check this room out real quick. No sense in leaving a building partially unsearched. Plus, this could be the armory, or hold something else useful."
"I'll go check out the church when I'm done here. I don't expect this little room to hold anything too exciting, but I need to make sure. Anthony, I'll bring anything that could be useful from the church, which at this point is probably anything not rotted away by now." Edited by Luke Xorn, Sep 7 2011, 08:16 PM.

"You know what?" Yells jack from the jail into the next room. "I think I will help you guys. At first I wasn't sure if I could trust you guy, but obviously you've got your heads in the right place. Sure, i'll go with ya, that is, if I wasn't in this cell. The decision is all yours. No tricks, I'll go will you no matter what happens." |

Luke opens the other door from the sheriff's office, and finds behind it a small room, in which sit a series of benches and a single podium. It appears to be a small courtroom. Like everywhere else, the room is covered with a fine mist of dust. Catarina, eschewing safety, waltzes into the open schoolhouse. It consists of a single room, large compared to other rooms explored thus far, but still small by today's standards. Children's desks lay askew on the floor, as if thrown around by something. Or someone. The eye can't stay on them for long, however, because it is drawn to the walls. The walls covered in handprints and childish scribbles: all of them made in blood. Most distressing is a large message written on the far wall, dripping, as if fresh. It states simply, "Welcome Home." Meanwhile, Alyss's ears have long stopped ringing. Only a slight uneasiness persists, as if she can feel a wrongness around her. |

I step into the room, slightly disappointed this wasn't the armory; in hindsight, however, the courthouse makes much more sense. I take a detailed visual sweep of the room hoping to find anything useful or interesting. Spoiler: click to toggle

Catarina stared at the desks, her eyes then flash to the wall, she doesn't freak out, she keeps her cool, "Home.......? Home...huh...." she goes closer to the wall, "this...this is fresh....? but...how....? there's not a soul in here." she folds her arms, "this...i dont believe in ghosts..its not real...is it?" |
