Beware the TBC...
|
Luthien walked into the store and up the the counter. He didn't bother consulting the shelves, as he knew already what he would need. The owner who recognized his face but couldn't quite place him, was supprised at his choice of cards. No one plays Giant Orc anymore... Mused the befuddled clerk. This guy must be new to the game... But from the look of him then man didn't appear to fall into that category. Realizing that they didn't even keep a few of the cards at the front of the store, the clerk was forced to go look in the back of the shop. Luthien waited patiently by the counter as the clerk searched. |

"The Firefly"
|
[[From "Duel Concept #1" (Classroom - East)]] (IC Post - Condensed Version) Rina continued to wander the halls until she found herself by what appeared to be a shop of some sort. Wondering what it carried inside, she approached and entered. As she did, the orange-haired Ra was overcome in awe as the spacious and well designed shop visually took her in. She responded in a low whisper with her mouth open. "!! ...Whoa...." Rina made sure to look the entire shop over, but what stood out almost immediately was the duelist deck belt display, off to the side of the store. Finding a deep yellow leather belt with a yellow sheep token as its belt buckle was a discovery of cuteness for Rina; she had to have it. Along with the belt as a purchase-able item, Rina browsed around and picked up several new cards and, after a moment of rememberance(sp?), a postcard, intended for her parents and older sister. The Ra Yellow female approached the front counter. A boy was there, and looked to be waiting for something. With no employees to be seen, she figured they were in the back, doing something. ...But just in case.... "...'Xcuse me..." she began, addressing the boy, "Are you in line, or...?" The sentence faded out, as per usual with those types of questions. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (IC Post - Original Version) Meanwhile, approaching the large, open room was Rina, who paused several feet away from the shop to ponder over the contents of the apparent store. With a simple "Hm," she walked on, into the academy's card shop. The orange-haired teen was suddenly overcome by the color scheme, design, and spaciousness of the room which seemed to breathe life of its own, saying "Welcome inside me, young one! Please, have a look around; I have much to offer." "Whoa...," her voice whisped from her open mouth. The store's stock was majorily full, filled with more than just Duel Monsters cards. One rack contained clip-on earrings with various hanging designs; posters of monsters, field card designs, and dueling legends, had their own twin platforms at a far end of the shop. School kits, paper, calculators, thermosses(sp?), t-shirts, extra school uniforms of varying sizes, duel coats, leather deck belts, desig--.... ...Deck belts? ".... Hmmm." Those were what caught Rina's eye. The young girl had wanted to buy a duelist deck belt for some time, simply to fill out the look of a female duelist. She walked off to the right side of the shop, where the leather belts were displayed, wrapped and buckled around three thick, 7-foot, rack-like poles, from top to bottom. What specifically got her attention was a deep yellow belt with the yellow Sheep Token character as part of its belt buckle design. "Oh, that's so cute~," she said to herself as she puckered her lips childishly for effect. "I've gotta have that!" She gazed around the item and nodded: a definite buy! The belt length looked as though it was adjustable. Good; no need to worry about it fitting over and around her waist and hips. There was also a purple belt with a Ring of Destruction buckle. Of the two belts, however, the yellow didn't clash with the uniform as much. Rina did, however, make a mental note to buy the RoD belt at some point during her stay at the academy. Unbuckling the sheep belt was the first step. After that, she calmly took it with her as she continued to venture around the newly discovered land of treasures and trinkets. Aside from picking up a few card singles that she noticed and wanted, Rina also found a stand filled with blank postcards near the front desk, about five feet from the boy waiting there. ".... .... ...." A warm grin emerged; Rina stared at a postcard with a shot of the academy on its front. Taking the time to think about the family she left behind, The orange-haired duelist figured that she should get a postcard, too, while she's here. ...It was at that time when she glanced over at the front desk. A male student was there, but no one was on the other side of the table. Rina figured that they were in the back, doing something. She picked up the postcard, and with her other purchase-ables, she approached the same front counter. "...'Xcuse me..." Rina addressed the boy. "Are you in line, or...." The sentence faded out, as per usual with those types of questions. |

(OC: Go Ontario!) IC: If there was one thing Luthien couldn't stand in life it was overenthusiasm. And this girl definitely took the cake (other then the fact that it's a lie of course). Someone who would buy a deck belt obviously doesn't understand the function of a pocket. And one who would pick out a gaudy Sheep Token belt, needs to question their insanity. But Luthien being who he was stayed his tongue, and patiently waited for the employee to return, hopefully in time, that he would leave before the girl made it to the counter. As soon as he realized he wouldn't be so lucky Luthien moved out of his slight slouch and squared his shoulders. I'm afraid that you're going to have a bit of a wait. The shopkeeper is in the back looking for a few specific cards that I intend to buy, that are not normally carried here. |

OOC: Yeah~! [pumped fist] IC: "Oh, so that's what they're doing," she replied, feigning(gr?) mild surprise, as it was a habit to her, now. With the Ra Yellow male standing upright, he appeared much taller than Rina initially thought. The bang over his eye looked cool, especially with the dark glasses, [[assuming he's wearing them with the Ra attire -- if not, I'll edit.]] but she wondered what the gloves were about.... To add to the look, maybe? She could only guess. His speech is refined, so she figured he was a nice enough person. Not one to pry into someone else's life, Rina shrugged and continued the conversation. "Okay. No biggie." The redhead then placed her items onto the counter, off to the side closest to her so as not to confuse the shopkeeper when he or she returns. "Besides, with class cancelled, I've got all the time in the world, now." Rina wasn't the fast-pace type. She was used to taking her own time to do things, and had no issue with others doing the same unto her; very tolerant. Being so laid-back is what helps to give her energy when needed. With such being the case, Rina folded her arms over the counter and hunched over, taking the time to look at everything beyond the customer-employee border as she waited, as well. With a relieved sigh, Rina uttered aloud, "This place is pretty cool-looking, for a regular ol' card shop, don't you think?" she asked, making conversation as she contiuned to gaze at the booster packs' design posters beyond the counter. I wont back down!
|
JeY walked in, on a hunch that a new year means people will be looking for new cards. His general wandering never failed him to find people, even his previous location at the beach, there was someone, but he didn't feel like watching a duel. And of course, JeY's whim was right. there was two Ra's at the counter. One taller, more dark male, and a red-headed female with a bunch of items in front of her. Withing two glances of around the shop, he already saw something he'd like to buy. Knowing he was away from home, he was finally free to spend his own money. All the limits his mother had used were in good check, and JeY learned to use his money wisely. I have been looking for a double of this card... Maybe now my deck will operate better. He picked up the card, and walked over to the counter. He knew he wouldn't get anything else, he had the decks he wanted and the means to build others, it was just he lacked a copy of a card. After reaching the counter, he put the copy of "Paths of Destiny" on the counter. His money was in a place where it could be reached in seconds, so he didn't bother pulling it out for others to see at that moment. In case anyone thought of him as strange to walk up to make a purchase in front of people waiting there, he made a reassuring remark. "Don't worry, I'll wait for you two to go first before they check-out me." He raised his head and smiled. |

Your just not used to it yet, Luthien replied causally. Just then another Ra walked into the store. As the Ra tossed a fairly luck based card onto the counter Luthien gave it a glance. You certainly place a lot of faith in luck to run a card such as that one. He commented. At that moment the clerk returned with Luthien's cards. Looking over the cards, Luthien was satisfied that the clerk had collected all the ones he had asked for. Turning to the other two Ra Luthien questioned Say, either of the two of you, want to give my deck a test run? |

The Racin hidden in the Azure Flames

Jake walked up to the card store thinking about what cards would fit nicely into his deck. He then walked into the store where he saw 3 Ras standing there, none of them looking familiar. He walked up to them all. Hello everybody. Jake said looking at them all in their bright yellow jackets. |

Noticing a large poster placed on the wall Luthien gave a smile. So there is to be a tournament amongst dorms. Then this one will be my first victim Gesturing at the sign Luthien bore in on the Osiris. It appears that there is a tournament going on. I think it's time the Ra Yellows took the lead. |

OOC: Editing complete IC: "A test run? Yeah, totally," Rina piped up, raised from the counter. "I haven't dueled at all since I got here. I'm about due for one, I think." Rina wound up her arms, loosening them up. Just then, an Osiris Red appeared and greeted everyone. "Hi," replied Rina, half-heartedly. She had nothing against those of higher or lower dorm status, but his sudden greeting left her to think that the Osiris wanted something. Nonetheless, she gave the boy her attention... at least until Luthien spoke up. "Oh yeah, that's right." Rina understood what Luthien was saying about taking the lead. He made a good point, but she had no intention of ganging up on the Osiris student. If the Ra side gains a victory before her turn comes along, she'll turn it down unless the red individual wants to duel her. ...Though, she did figure it'd be a shame if she didn't get a chance to duel. That is just the way she is. Edited by Rina Kasakura, Feb 15 2008, 01:12 AM.

Jake saw the look on one of the Ra's faces. He looked up to see what it was from when he saw the poster. He read it and looked back. He counted. 1 Ra 2 Ra 3 Ra 1 Osiris. Oh boy Jake thought to himself figuring all 3 of them were thinking of dueling him. So, my name is Jake. What are your names? |
