(From: South Entrance) Gouki walks into the Courtyard, waiting for his opponent Demitri to meet him there. He wanted to have more duels just like he noted out in his mind back at the South Entrance. "He better not disappoint me" |

Arriving in the Courtyard a mere moment after Gouki, Demitri couldn't help but notice how two of the second years student's steps were the equivalent of one of his own strides. Had he not stopped to absorb some of the sights of the island during their brief walk, he could have possibly overtaken him and arrived first. But now was not the time for such musings. "Alright then, Gouki. Shall we?" Pulling up the almost excessively loose sleeve of his coat, he brandished a considerably large, ebony device attached to his arm. Engraved into the base, nearest to his elbow, were the words "The Sword of Promised Victory" in a small yet elegant script. Clenching his fist, the top of the device swung open, then quickly unfolded itself into what revealed itself to be the main body of his duel disk. Resembling a thick, finely crafted blade, the card zones flickered to life. Reaching inside of his coat once more, Demitri produced a deck. Inserting the deck into his duel disk, he stood at the ready. "Come! Show me strength of the fire that drives you!" |

"What a flashy duel disk you got there! Now we shall find out if you really do have 'promised victory'!", commented Gouki after he witnessed the Blue take out his duel disk. Gouki loaded his deck into his crimson turbo duel disk and it roared just like a motorcycle would when it's turned on. It seemed that both duelists are using customized duel disk to fit their preferences. "I shall show you flames alright! Now who shall begin?" |

As he watched his opponent set up his duel disk, Demitri smiled. He hadn't expected a challenger so quickly, and certainly not one of such tenacity. "Normally, I'd say that you should be the one to begin. However, as I'm a bit anxious to get this started. pardon me whilst I begin this time." Demitri said nonchalantly. I think I could get to like this one. He seems to have a strong spirit. Drawing his initial five cards, Demitri then drew a sixth to begin his turn. Looking down at his hand at last, he muttered something under his breath, obviously a bit irritated at what he saw. "Damn. I loaded the wrong deck...this is one of the two I was requested to make for the entrance exam." Demitri sighed, obviously exasperated. He couldn't believe he had neglected to check the deck he was placing into his duel disk. Looking over at his opponent once more, then back down at his hand, his expression lightened a bit. Ah well. I was planning on testing this out later anyways. Besides, I've already made the modifications I wanted to anyways. His resolve strengthened, a more relaxed, composed expression returned to Demitri's face. "Now then. Lets begin! And to start with, I think I'll summon Crystal Beast - Sapphiire Pegasus in attack mode, calling out a second to the Spell and Trap zone with it's effect!" The duel disk came to life, creating a wonderfully rendered image of the magnificent beast, followed by a second which quickly became encased in a dense crystal seal, signifying it's status as a Continuous Spell. "Next, I think I'll augment it's abilities with this...the Equip Spell Crystal Release. Finally, I call upon the power of the Ancient City - Rainbow Ruins. This card shall be the card to seal your fate in this duel!" Upon the activation of Rainbow Ruins, an immense, ancient building erupted from the ground around them. The walls were covered in dazzling array of gems of every color, their glow piercing even the light fog of the morning with their brilliance. The gems of the ruin began to resonate with the crystallized Pegasus, forming a field that would protect from external forces. And with that, my turn ends." said Demitri with a smile. "Now then, lets see what you can muster." Edited by Demitri Reyveirnacus, Feb 9 2008, 09:28 AM.

"Why are you playing such a feminine deck? Well I do guess confusion of gender is something could be the cause of your choice." Gouki drew his 6th card to start off his turn. He looks satisfied with his current hand. "I will play both D-Draw and Trade-In by discarding D-Hero Plasma and D-Hero Diamond Dude!" Gouki sends both monsters to his graveyard to make his duel disk roar while 4 cards are drawn. Gouki then slaps down a card known as Reasoning. The Obelisk Duelist calls LV8 in hopes of Dark Magician of Chaos of being drawn. The crimson duel disk roar loudly as it shot a card into the sky which then lands on the Monster Zone of Gouki's duel disk. The card revealed to be E-Hero Stratos, which was a LV4 Monster and not a LV8. The blue warrior materializes on to the field and spins the motors on it's metallic wings rapidly as Gouki takes out Diamond Dude from his deck to his hand. "Better luck next time, Obelisk! Now I shall discard Reasoning to activate my Lightning Vortex to get rid of that retarded horse!" Gouki sends his Reasoning card to his grave as lightning strikes Demitri's side of the field, wiping out the Pegasus from the field. However, the effect of Crystal Release allowed Ruby Carbuncle to be crystallized onto the Obelisk's Spell/Trap Zone. The Pegasus joined the two other crystallized beasts, giving Demitri a total of 3 crystallized Crystal Beasts. "Now I command my Stratos to attack directly!" Stratos uses it's motor blades to shoot powerful gusts of wind directly at Demitri, thus lowering his Life Points down. However, the Rainbow Ruins uses the 2nd effect to create a forcefield that reduced the life points.
"I'll set this card down and pass the turn to you. Now show me what you and your little gems can do!" |

"A feminine deck, you say? What folly...such a nonsensical mindset shall lead you to your defeat here." Demitri said calmly, showing no signs of concern, irritation or malice at a comment obviously intended to aggravate him. Shrugging off the attack from Gouki's Stratos, Demitri drew hia card. Looking carefully at his hand and field, he began his turn. "Now, to start this turn off, I think I'll sweep the field clean of that face-down with this. Activate Giant Trunade!" A fearsome windstorm swept through the courtyard, blowing every spell and trap card on the field this way and that, until finally returning them to their owner's hands. "Now then. Since this move worked so well last turn, how about an encore? I summon Crystal Beast - Sapphire Pegasus in attack mode...and slam it straight into that precious Stratos of yours! Of course, not before I add yet another Pegasus to my back row." Demitri said with a smirk. The two monsters collided, but while Stratos disappeared in a mighty blast, the splendid beast simply crystallized once more and deposited itself into the spell and trap zone. "Now then, since things look a little bland without it, I suppose I'll activate Rainbow Ruins once more and attempt to brighten things up a bit." The ancient ruins appeared once more, the two Pegasus in Demitri's spell and trap zone resonating with the glittering jewels embedded in the walls. Again, a barrier was erected, but this one appeared slightly more durable than the last, and enveloped Demitri in addition to the ruins; the sign that the second effect had come into play. "And with that, I'll end my turn." Demitri spoke with confidence. Despite what appeared to be a disadvantageous match-up, he was in control for the moment...and he intended to keep it that way. [OOC: ...Let's just wrap this up, shall we? Again, apologies for the double-post. ^_^;] ======================================================================== What seemed like an eternity had passed since Demitri had completed his turn. After drawing his card and adding it to his hand, he had since stood silent. His gaze never wavering from the cards he held, he remained motionless. What on earth could be taking him so long? Did my play really bewilder him so? Having since taken out his book of Mythology, Demitri looked up only to see his opponent in the same state as he had been since the beginning of his turn. Having glanced over at him once more, he sighed and continued reading. Suddenly, an announcement was aired over the intercom system. Recognizing the voice as that of the headmaster, Demitri took notice. A duel tournament? Between dorms? Interesting. Although... Looking over at his opponent once more, his expression soured. "At this rate, it would appear I'll not be able to participate." said Demitri, his voice displaying significant irritation. Unable to remain patient any further, he called over to his opponent. His voice rang out, audible to all within the immediate vicinity of the courtyard. "A bit more haste would be appreciated!" Receiving no answer, Demitri called out once more in an even louder tone, his voice clearly displaying his agitation. "Hello? Are you still with us, Gouki?" said Demitri, looking down at his watch. "It's been approximately Forty-Five minutes since you drew that card? Are you intending to play something, or are you just going to stand there like some incompetent twit?" Further losing his patience, yet still maintaining his composure, Demitri walked over to his opponent. As he approached, he noticed a faint buzzing sound. Noticing that the source of this sound was in fact Gouki, he drew closer. Finally, took notice of something that shocked and appalled him. He's...ASLEEP!? Gouki's...narcoleptic!? Demitri was shocked. Not only was Gouki asleep, but he was sleeping with his eyes open. "Well...that certainly explains things." Looking over Gouki once more, Demitri returned to where his bag lay. Gathering his belongings, he turned to the slumbering duelist once more, a look of dissatisfaction on his face. "It's a shame. I was looking forward to this. Although...it does appear that this book does indeed provide more entertainment value than you, eh?" Chuckling to himself, Demitri walked off, leaving Gouki to his siesta. [To: Unknown] |
