[From: A New School, a New Opportunity]

Billie walked around campus, still upset over her most recent loss. She sighed, and took out a small book from her backpack:

Leviticus 19:18 Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.

Billie smiled. She could always turn to the Bible when ever she felt down or depressed.

As she continued walking, she found herself in a nearby store. "I'll strengthen my deck with new cards." she said, already feeling better.

She entered the store, discovering all sorts of wonderful little things. A multitude of cards, but nothing that really fit her style.

"Why hello there little girl. What brings you here?" asked the lady at the counter.

"Uhh, yes. Hello to you too." said Billie. She curtsied politely. "I'm looking for cards to strengthen my deck."

"What kind of deck do you have?"

"Counter Fairies."

"Then do I got a card for you!"

The lady at the register bent down to search for a card at the register. She came up, holding a card encased in a plastic meant to protect it. She motioned for Billie to take it.

Billie picked up the card, reading the name out loud. "Van'Dalgyon the Dark Dragon Lord?"

The idea of having such a Dark card in her deck, a Dark Dragon Lord was a tad unnerving to her.

"Well gosh... I don't know." Billie looked over at the evil, cruel looking dragon. Despite the darkness surrounding it, she could feel something unusual about it. As though it was made for her. As though she could feel his Spirit. And even though it was evil, it would never be evil towards Billie, or go against her wishes.

"I'll take it." she said, smiling weakly. Though it was a very powerful card that would help her deck tremendously, she sensed a bit of trepidation just while holding it.

Kabuto had followed Billie to the card shop, where he chose to talk to her again.

"Hello ma'am. Kabuto, if you remember. I watched your duel. You're quite the good duelist, that Gouki guy just had luck on his side."

Kabuto looked at the card she was holding.

"Van'Dalgyon the Dark Dragon Lord eh? That card is pretty good. It'd be great with your fairy deck. Here, let me pay for it."

Kabuto handed the money to the counter girl.

"So, Billie, tell me a little about yourself."

"Oh, thank you ever so much for purchasing this card for me." said Billie, smiling. The Dark Dragon Lord was hers now, despite how evil it looked, and what kind of aura she got from it.

"I'll fix up my deck with it later." She felt an odd feeling as she slipped it into her pocket. Almost as if the card's spirit was calling out to her. She heard a faint growling noise. Perhaps she was hungry?

"Anyway" she continued, trying to forgot the odd feeling of Van'Dalgyon's spirit. "My name is Billie M. Hatcher. I was born in a small town in Germany. When I was born, I was left orphaned outside of a local Christian Orthodox church. I was raised by the priest along with 4 nuns. Father William Matthews Hatcher and Sisters April, May, June, and Rachel."

She wondered how much more she should tell him. "And how about you?"

Kabuto grinned.

"Oh, not much about me. Im a pretty good student, come from a regular, nice home. Was raised quite nicely, I got most of the things I wanted, as long as I kept up in my grades. Parents sent me here to get better at my game.

So are you a nun then? I doubt you would have a boyfriend overseas, now would you?"

Kabuto could feel she felt odd about the card he bought for her, but he didn't know why.

"A nun? Not me." said Billie. "Though my parents did try to pressure me into giving myself up to God, they let me choose my own path."

"As for boyfriends, well there is this boy, but he's more like my friend." Billie remember her good friend Dante, and how he taught her how to duel. How supportive he was when she got the acceptance letter, even though there was a chance he would not see her for the remainder of his life. He was only a friend, wasn't he?

It was at this point she realized she was just absentmindedly staring into space. "Uhh, so you're an Obelisk Blue? Your parents must be so proud." she said quickly, hoping he hadn't noticed the awkward silence.

"Eh well, they pretty much expect it of me.

So then you would be open to someone you met here at this school, right?"

Kabuto had been smooth so far, he just had to keep it up.

"Are you asking if I would fall in love with a boy at this academy?" she questioned.

She lived mostly a life of seclusion, in a small town. The only boy her age in the entire town was Dante. She though to herself, what would her parents say in this situation?

"I have no time for such things. I must first focus on my studies. You saw how that Ra beat me. I need to become a better duelist before I can think of such things as having a boyfriend." She stood firmly. She couldn't distract herself with foolish things like love. There was a time and a place for that sort of thing, and this was neither.

"That does make sense miss Billie.

Perhaps you and I could work on our skills together, one on one sometime? If we work hard enough, I'll go get us ice cream too. And then you'll take care of that kid no problem. You have real potential."

Kabuto had winced at his failure.

"Perhaps once you do defeat him you may have time for such things..."

Kabuto could tell she was living in the past. He needed to break her out of that to get through to her.

Well, I do require assistance, so I guess it would not hurt to ask for help from this Blue, she thought to herself.

"Yes, we can work together on our dueling skills if you wish."

Upon saying this, she suddenly remembered an old Bible passage her Father frequently quoted when he felt her and Dante spent too much time together.

Thessalonians 4: 3-8
It is God's will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality;
that each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable,
not in passionate lust like the heathen, who do not know God;
and that in this matter no one should wrong his brother or take advantage of him. The Lord will punish men for all such sins, as we have already told you and warned you.
For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life.
Therefore, he who rejects this instruction does not reject man but God, who gives you his Holy Spirit.

"... However, I'm not so sure I'd be ready for such things upon defeating him."

Dang, this girl is tough to get.

"Yeah, Im not like, expecting it of you or anything. Thats just silly."

Kabuto grinned at her.

"So do you wanna go learn more about that card? We could head over to the library and do some research on it."
