Name: Kim, Kyung-Yoon Age: 28 Dorm: Staff Year: 2nd Gender: Female Race: Korean Height: 5'8'' Weight: Undisclosed Eye Color: Purple Hair Color: Purple Personality: Though she lacks experience, she is confident in her knowledge and training. She likes to level the playing field between the dorms, helping the lower ranked students in competitions. She enjoys teaching each student from their level, not wishing to bore the Obelisks but still giving practical information to the less experienced Osirises and Sebeks. Defining Characteristics: Fashion Sense Physical Appearance: Miss Kim wears her hair medium-long, flowing down just below her shoulders. Her clothing color of choice is purple, matching her hair and eyes. Known Relatives: Parents, no siblings Biography: Kyung-Yoon was born in South Korea, but her parents immigrated to the United States when she was a young child. She quickly picked up the language and customs of her new home. She grew up in San Jose, California - a stone's throw away from the Industrial Illusions Headquarters in San Francisco. Duel Monsters entered Kyung-Yoon's life when her father began to work for I2 as a part of their Research and Development Team. He would constantly bring home special cards to play around with. Kyung-Yoon was an eager opponent, taking great pleasure in (secretly) playing with cards before they were released to the public. Despite the fact that Duel Monsters was largely considered a "boys' game," Kyung-Yoon played it often at school, using her extensive knowledge of cards to defeat her opponents. Kyung-Yoon's mother was a mathematics teacher at a local junior high school. She was an excellent role model for the young girl, always spending extra hours after school to help the students who dropped by. Of course, with a skilled teacher as a mother, Kyung-Yoon found education an important endeavor, and was able to skip first grade through her mother's private instruction. It was only a matter of time before Kyung-Yoon decided on a career of teaching herself. As Kyung-Yoon advanced her education, she found herself attending the dueling academy, Silver Dawn. She was a member of the D.D. Warrior Lady Dorm during her stay there, and during her second year, befriended Lindsey Taylor of the Nimble Momonga dorm. Kyung-Yoon helped the less experienced duelist, and the two became close. They agreed to go to college together as they both decided to pursue teaching careers. At college, she also met Aaron Goldray, a man with a love for archaeology. Upon their last meeting together, Aaron had promised to repay her in some way for the Duel Monsters deck she had given him - a small token of their friendship. Kyung-Yoon tries to remain in contact with her old friends, hoping they will meet again soon... As a Dueling Academy Professor, Kyung-Yoon is adept at using a wide variety of decks. She fell in love with two particular monsters, however: The Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys and Horus the Black Flame Dragon. She loves to use control decks, creating such novelties as her "17th Angel" deck. This deck earned her quite a reputation at Silver Dawn, adding "Mysic Swordsman" to her list of signature cards. Well...seeing as you're ALREADY more active than the others that would call themselves teachers were, I see no reason not to. =) Rina would probably need to confirm this though. Otherwise, approved. |
