[From: Friendly Reminder, Ra Yellow] Danielle sighed, waving her tray around restlessly. Nothing particularly amazing tonight. There were the mainstays-- assorted burgers, pizzas, and all manner of fried and/or grilled things in one corner. Every day, it was the same. They were quite popular choices for some of the students, and she was certain that some people went there every day. Of course, she judiciously complimented her meal with a slice or two of pizza from time to time... Well, maybe it was a little more often than "from time to time," but that wasn't so important. And of course, there was the sub section. This was a good place to go if the daily choices weren't the best. It came fully equipped with the basics, enough different kinds of meat and cheese to create pretty much anything... that you might find at your local Subway or Togo's (and here I run the risk of like no Togo's on the East Coast). Danielle had eaten food from that section a lot lately, since her roommate had a certain distaste for meat. But that was a really good point... she wasn't here right now. So! What might this line be for? She leaned around the few people ahead of her. Some... delicious looking... taco/burrito-type... thing. And... it was overflowing with ground beef! This was good. Well, if it had been something more along the lines of a chicken fried steak, it would have been amazing. But... you can't get everything, now can you? She smiled as the person in front of her was served and moved aside. The chef adjusted the dials under the pans of refried beans and the sizzling meat before looking up at the blonde girl. He picked up a bowl and slid a tortilla inside. "Would you like everything, miss?" "Yes please!" She smiled, and in moments, the chef had compiled a delicious-looking... soft taco/burrito thing for her. It had refried beans, ground beef, a sprinkling of cheese, and a scoop of some mix of lettuce and tomatos. She took the bowl from him and stepped aside for the next person in line. She reached for the nearby bucket of sour cream and used the spoon in it to flick a glob of it onto her "taco." She didn't believe that the sign's description of "taco" really was all that accurate. She'd seen a real taco before, and this was by no means it. But this thing promised to be just as delicious. She took another bowl for her soup for the evening. She looked at the two choices she was offered and hastily made one. She ladled the soup into her bowl and placed it on her tray. She grabbed a soup spoon and a small package of crackers before picking up her tray and balancing it gracefully in one hand. She picked up a banana as she walked by the counter of fruit and made her way to the drink section. She grabbed a cup and filled it with milk from the dispenser. Placing her entire meal on the tray that she held in one hand like a waitress, she approached the register, glancing once over her shoulder to see how far behind Dante was in getting his dinner in order. |

[From: "Room 211" (Ra Yellow - Women's Rooms)] Rina passed through the doors of the Ra dining hall. Not seeing Danielle or Dante outside, she could only believe that she had been tardy in meeting them beforehand, and that they had already entered the building. With sheets of paper held at her side, her purple-tinted blue eyes scanned the room for familiar faces. A number of them, she had found, but the ones that the redhead was looking for were spotted by the serving area. Looked like they were getting their dinner - made sense. Rina approached Danielle, first, knowing her better than Dante. When she reached her, she called out "hey," in a normal tone, trying not to surprise the seemingly older girl, or anyone else around her. |

Dante had tried to follow closely behind Danielle, not wanting to get lost amidst the crowd of hungry Ras on his first day, but the sea of yellow and oceans of blazers seemed intent on getting him lost. Indeed, danielle would be a lemon in a banana field. Yellow, perhaps tasty, but hard to pick out. He managed to get his tray together, opting himself for a sub, similar to the ones Danielle likely had - mostly lettuce, cheese, tomato, vinegrette, and mustard, with just a couple slices of hard salami hidden. He oft foudn himself adhering to the code of his church, requiring vegetarianism, but he couldn't help himself. He was a guy. And what was a guy without the occasional helping of meat? He searched a moment, looking to all sides, before spotting Danielle as she sat. Thankful, he moved with her, his tray sporting a few carrots and a strawberry milk; his favorite. He sat with a smile, greeting both Danielle and Rina, who seemed to find her at the same time, sitting as he did. Edited by Billie Hatcher, Sep 24 2008, 07:34 PM.

Danielle looked up when she heard Rina's voice. She had just paid for her meal and was reentering the crowded dining hall. "Hi Rina! I think Dante is still in there. So... let's go find a place to sit down, okay?" Wthout even waiting for her friend to respond, she looked across the room and found a suitable place nearby. She walked over to the empty table and sat down. She saw Dante coming-- he had apparently seen them. She smiled. It was always hard to try and flag someone down in such a crowded room full of students dressed the same way. She picked up her spoon in her left hand and closed her eyes. |

"Sure." Rina followed her Ra Yellow comrade to the seating area that she had picked out. Once they sat down, Dante had pretty much arrived as well. Recalling the events only minutes ago, Rina asked, "So, is Billie coming, or what? Has she e-mailed you guys anything, yet?" She fidled with her 2 sheets of blank-type paper. |

"I wouldn't expect anything at least for a couple minutes," Dante said, biting the tip off a carrot and swallowing before continuing. "She's never really been the type to respond post-haste. Not exactly the type to prioritize much." He took another bite, ensuring not to speak with a full mouth as he said, "At any rate, I haven't gotten anything. You, Danielle?" He hadn't been asked to call her by anything but the formal Name with which Mina addressed her. He ate as he listened, slowly and politely, despite the ravenous hunger his growing (however slowly) teenage male appetitie brought on. Edited by Sakaki Ahi, Sep 27 2008, 11:40 PM.

"Well," Rina scratched her cheek, "that's kinda true...." She left the pages in her lap, not wanting to bring attention them... at first. ...But at this rate, Billie might not be calling, or making it to the dining hall anytime soon. It wasn't even that big of an issue to hold off on until she arrived; Rina could very well bring it up with white-haired girl later. "I guess, in that case..." the orange-haired firefly revealed the sheets of blank paper, face-down. "I wanted to ask you guys something, but since Billie's probably occupied, I'll ask just you guys." Her hands palmed the pressed paper against the table. "Honest opinions, guys: give me three words that best describe me." A mild look of concern, mixed with determination, made up the expression around her blue eyes. |

Danielle opened her eyes and looked at Dante when he spoke to her. Her reaction was a bit delayed, and for a split second she seemed disoriented. She quickly took looked at her PDA. "No, I haven't gotten anything yet." Then she glanced at Rina as she finished her request. Danielle could guess what this could be for, but she didn't want to make any huge assumptions. She paused, still leaving her meal untouched. "Hmm... that's kind of a difficult question. Can I think about it for a minute?" She held her spoon in her left hand, sliding it gently into her bowl of soup. Her mind was running on overdrive, trying to come up with the best possible three words to sum up her friend's best qualities. |

"Mm-mm," she nodded quickly. "Take as long as you need," said hastily. An accurate response was all she really wanted. Getting an accurate one from Dante would be difficult, but a 'first impression' of her would work, too. Something that she could work with. Her fingers curled a bit over the sheets of paper. She was anxious to her what they thought. |

There was a brief silence as Danielle ate a little bit of her soup. The one she had chosen was "Cheesy Cauliflour," and it actually wasn't too bad. She made a mental note to have it again sometime. Being a little adventurous had paid off. That decision... wait, that worked. She took the spoon out of her mouth. "Decisive... friendly.... and...." She thought for a bit more, putting the spoon back in her mouth. A third thing... how best to capture something that she hadn't touched on yet already? "...mm... creative." She looked at Rina and smiled, watching her reaction. She hoped she'd done justice to the good points of her friend's character. |
