Crimson Wind Academy has access to a chat box, which is located at the very bottom of each page. As it is not connected/linked with our site, you will have to request membership.

Create a username. It must be one that is recognizable to all who see it. Preferably, it would be one of your characters's names.

ex.
"Rina" = Rina Kasakura = Me
"Hatcher" = Billie Hatcher
"Kristy" = Kristy Jone

Other names are acceptable for registration, provided that members, especially new ones, will be able to figure it out with relative ease.

ex.
"Teh_Jey" = Jey Nakari
"Racinoftheflame-Jake" = Jake Yakuma (Racin --> Racin Halo[email=u]+sig[/u]])

To change your username, read "JeY Nakari's" post, below.
To understand the user color code, read "Jake Yukuma's" post below.

Once becoming a member, changing your username to a less ID-able, or a generally false one is grounds for a "kick," or a small-issue ban on the premise of misidentification, at the discretion of the Chat Owner and Moderators. To change your username, type in "change name" on the chat box window.

BE AWARE OF THE FOLLOWING THREAD!:
http://s1.zetaboards.com/Crimson_Wind_Academy/topic/679051/

In that thread, you can register Chat Names for use in the chat box, allowing you to use them without being penalized for misidentification. Currently, you can register 5 names, excluding all of your characters's names.

Behavior-wise, you all know what is generally expected, whether you've been here for a while, or are new. There's always that level of etiquette that you know is acceptable, and then there's the bit that kind of pushes the safe limit. Ultimately, you are to behave no worse than you would on the forum itself. And on that note. All that happens in the chat box is considered to have happened on the site.

What that means is this:
stated in one of the site's rules, it discusses how "issues" over PMs and messengers would be the way to talk/vent about them. Your range of tolerable language is wider (in messengers, only) so you can shoot the breeze, freely.
This chat box, however, does not count as a messenger service in that regard. Anything said in public is "Warn-able," perhaps even site-bannable.

As the chatbox is used, we, the owners and mods, will learn from our ruling mistakes and try to adjust the rules accordingly, each time. As such, once the rules have been updated, members are expected to follow them right away, as they are "effective immediately."

All in all, you have been warned to conduct yourselves appropriately.

-assigning chat mods))

you don't need to register for the box, that's unnecesary. You need to ask a chatbox mod/admin (people with orange or silver icons next to their name) to make you a member for our specific box :P

PM Me, Rina, Billie or Demitri, while they're online simultaneously with you if you're still not a member so we can make you one.

You can tell who is registered to xat by a black star by their blue, white, orange, green, or red person. BTW:

Orange: Owner (Two types. Main owner is the one who got the box and cannot be demoted. Owner is assigned by the Main Owner and ONLY by the main owner.)
White: Moderators (Can only be assigned by the Main Owner or Owner)
Blue: Members (Can be assigned by Owner and Mod)
Green: Guest
Red: Offline
Brown: Banned

'Impossible' is just a word the weak use to make themselves feel better.
Shouldn't be a problem, seeing as you just identified yourself. =)

It seems the people in the chat are now arguing over the issue of speaking in a language that would not be understood by all in the chat, or would be understood by a small minimum in the chat.

What is the official stance on this issue?

Issue? Arguing? What is there to argue over?

I suppose the point I want to raise is that I fail to see the relevance of making an "argument" or an "issue" out of a language that is not understood by a majority of the chat users. I can only come to see this as a fortification of the fear of that which is different from the assigned "norm".

Aside from that fear all humans seem to harbor of that which separates members of a "civilized" society and makes them "individuals", I lack the understanding to comprehend why this so-called "issue" would be harmful to any of the members of CWA who use the Chat Box.

If there is indeed a chance that being allowed to use languages other than English in the Chat Box would be harmful to other users, please, do enlighten me on the matter as I am open to learning new things just as much as any other "civilized" adult is.

Best Regards
