Ganjou awoke in a sweat today looking up at the roof of his makeshift tent. He blinked trying to get rid of the morning sickness that would surely follow after such a horrible night. A few days ago it had rained and the monk guessed he caught a head cold, but being brought down by a mere sickness was unfit for someone of his stature. He knew about mind over matter, which is how he climbed the mountain bare foot earlier. The bald headed monk walked outside towards the firepit and stepped on the few remaining charcoals succesfully putting them out with ease.

The monk's taught him long ago that he must keep a calm mind and to always remain calm. But the nightmare that had disturbed him last night rang through his mind like an echo. The images of him falling contiously replayed itself in his mind over and over again, his nightmare was something of a mystery. He slightly remembered what it was about, he was meditating on the edge of the inactive volcano breathing in and out. But suddenly it began to rain fiercely much to the distubance of Ganjou, he tried to remain calm but the storm had became stronger and more fierce.

It was until up to that point that he could remember no more. He strolled over to the beach and sat down to meditate and tried to calm himself. He deeply breathed and felt himself connecting spiritually he felt stronger for it as well as the feelings of fear were almost instantaneously erased from his mind. The world seemed to melt away as he hummed to the rythm of the air each wave flowing towards him, the mist sprayed gently across his face. Now he was at peace for the moment only to be awoken by a sneeze, he had no medicine to heal this ailment but he had to struggle through it or all of his teachings would mean nothing.

If he was uncalm or distressed then the meaning of willpower would be of no consequence to him. He couldn't fail now, a cloud moved out from under the sun letting the ray's warm his cold body. He opened his eyes and stared into the navy blue waters and looked over to see his boat hidden by some rocks.

He then reached into his pocket and pulled out a card that he had found abandoned by its owner. "The legendary jujitsu master" he said calling out his name. He had no understanding of the game but was intrigued, he longed to learn but hoped that there were different ways to win then just slaying monsters or harming the opponent. He wouldn't be able to bring harm to students meaning he wouldn't be able to play. The whole thought of it distressed him more and he sighed before laying the card next to him in the sand and shutting his eyes again, once more falling into the hypnotic sounds of the waves.

JeY, in a usual state of trance, always went to a source of water to calm him, and allow thoughts. It was strange how water was able to almost hypnotize him. He could watcch rain all night, or look at a stream flowing forr quote a while. What better place to witness water than, well, the beach?

The events that were to take place tonight put a heavy toll on his thoughts. They were constantly engaged on questions, opinions, and what she thought. He wanted them to stop, so he could think of other things, like dueling, but it was jsut impossible.

JeY arrived at the beach, only to see a tent int he short distance. He decided to ignore it, and sit sound in the sand, and watch the waves crash agasint the shore. He mind almost blanked for a second, but then the thoughts contined to cycle through his mind like a dryer, constantly turning and moving the contents inside around.

Ganjou continued to meditate, he began to hear footsteps off in the distance. They were like dull thuds against the soft and warm sand and each step got louder as JeY had neared. Finally the footsteps stopped and then a larged thud a few feet away from him indicating that someone had likely plopped down next to him. He stopped humming out of curiosity and looked over to see who the person was. It was a boy in a yellow coat with blondish hair matching the blazer. But it was the duel disk on the boy's wrist that piqued his interest the most.

The young monk noted that the boy was younger, slightly shorter, and skinnier as well. The bald headed boy looked at the machine and thought of something to say. "You are one of the players here?" he asked calmly not looking away from the waves.

The boy was sure to give him some sort of insight on the game or at least he hoped. He was slightly scared though as to how the person might react. Ganjou refused to believe that his word's could lead to conflict "How exactly do you play this card game?" he asked turning his head to look straight at JeY.

His curiousity overwhelmed him almost completely forgetting the fact that the student was trying to find peace in his life as well as Ganjou had been achieving earlier. The twisted look of confusion had shown that clearly to the young monk.

[OOC: By short distance, I mean not right next to your tent, but maybe 15 feet? Ah well. As long as you know I'm not DIRECTLY next to your tent.]

"Huh!?" JeY turned and answered in shock. He didn't notice anyone come near inn, and his thoughts being disrupted caused him to act surprised. The bald-headed individual asked if JeY was a 'player', then asked him exactly how to play the game.

"Sorry, you startled me. Uh, Yeah, I do play the game, otherwise I wouldn't be here to learn how to make my game better." He answered the guy's first question, paused, and then continued. "And I'm not sure I'm one to teach you effectively. Though, I'm sure the classes can only be attended by the students enrolled here..." He sighed. JeY knew he was terrible at explaining things to begin with.

"Sorry I can't be of more help." He told the man. He looked at sea, paying attention for what the man would say next.

Ganjou looked shocked as the boy yelped in confusion. His own heart rate slowed as the boy stated he was fine. Apparently he was hear to learn how to play the game, it was a school indeed. He stood up and stretched looking back out to the ocean and with a sigh looked at JeY through the corner of his eye.

"Then if this is a school your a student," he guessed bending down and touching his toes. "What do you need besides the machine on your hand?" he asked gesturing towards the duel disk on his arm. He figured since this boy wasn't unfriendly he might as well learn all he could about the game.

He then put both hands together and bowed towards JeY "My name is Ganjou, a monk from the monastary east of here" he stated standing up straight now. "I came here so I could continue on my path to enlightment alone" he added looking scornfully to the east. He sometimes missed his old life but now he figured that he shouldn't go back until later on in life.

JeY was pleased that he asked more specific questions; this way he can explain things better. He always tried to help if he could, feeling bad if he could've helped, but didn't. He figured he'd be nice, and pass the time (he just wanted it to be evening already), by answering his question.

"Nice to meet you, My name is JeY, spelled with an 'e' and capital 'Y'." He answered Ganjou. "And what do you need? Well, you don't even really need this machine, it just assists with dueling." He said to the man. "What you really need, is a deck with at least 40 cards, a rulebook to know how to play, and an opponent to play with." He said, then thought of something. He took off his backback, produced a rulebook from a smaller side pocket, and handed it to Ganjou. "This is an up-to-date rulebook, just read through it and tell me what you think." He told him.

JeY looked back down at the ocean, and started to think. Bad idea, as this would cause him, in seconds, to get lost in more thoughts.

Ganjou accepted the book and opened up the first page. He skimmed through the first paragraph and grimaced as it stated the objective, Lower your opponents life points to zero to win. He sighed knowing that this sounded slightly violent and would probably go against his ways. He sighed looking through the other pages and held it out for JeY to take back.

"It says I need to attack my opponent...are there different ways to play this game?" he asked hopefully getting the correct answer. He had indeed feared that he would surely be unable to play.

He sniffled remembering the small head cold that he had. He remembered JeY said that he need a forty card deck, the jujitsu master was his only card. "Unfortunately even if there was another way to play I only have one card, I dont meet to requirements to play"

JeY didn't notice the book being handed back to him, and then the man said something. He quickly looked over, and realized he was getting his rulebook back. "Oh, uhm. Thanks." He took it back, and slid it into his backpack. He heard the man's words, and instantly thought of an idea through a recent deck he made.

"Actually, there is another way to do it. You don't have to use a single attack. Rather, simply inflict the damage with card effects." He paused for a moment and looked back at him. "I recently made a deck that accomplishes that. I'm, uh... busy today... Some later though, I'll show you." He looked off passed the man. "Is that your tent?" He asked him, pointing vaguely.

"Yes JeY, that is where I live" he stated after seeing JeY look and point at the tent made of nearby twigs and a blanket that Ganjou kept when he left his home. He pointed over to the rock formation where his broken down raft was kept.

"Several months ago when I first landed here my raft broke down I had to make camp somewhere, I've been living here for quite some time watching you students play the game. He then pointed at the firepit he had created "And I've kept warm with that, its been hard finding food for my diet you see JeY as I am a vegetarian" he pointed out. He began to point towards the tent but suddenly fell over having a coughing fit.

As he coughed he could feel his chest burning wildly, the cold was becoming worse. He tried to calm his breathing but gasped before spitting up some phlegm. "Help!" he exlcaimed before coughing once more. He finally began breathing normally again before spitting out the rest of his cough. He got back up to his feet and felt his chest with his right hand, "I'm sorry, the rain storm has given me a head cold it seems" he lied. Ganjou knew however that this was getting far too out of control and meditation or calming his mind would not defeat the sickness. He feared it would overtake him.

"If that's your place, I'll come by another time with the deck. Unfortunately, I’m not willing to give it up, but I can give you a list." He told Ganjou, in an assuring tone. He listened to his crash story, before he started coughing violently. JeY knew, medically, there's nothing he could do but ask. "Are you okay?" He asked Ganjou. The man explained about how the storm a few days ago gave him a cold.

"We do have a medical wing here, student or not, I'm sure they would treat you, or be able to transport you to a place where you can receive professional assistance, rest and recover." He told him, in a concerned tone. His expression matched his speech. JeY had forgotten all that he was thinking about. Though, since now he was done thinking, he had to pass the time. If Ganjou didn't know how to duel, and JeY didn't know how to teach him properly, it was time to find an opponent. Besides, JeY told him he'd be back, right?

"Well, I must be off. Good luck with everything here." He told him. He figured the man didn't have much in the way of technology, so he didn't bother with contact details. He decided to walk along the beach for others. Nothing like dueling in your favorite environment?
