Almost got myself a game loss in the L.C.R., too. ^_^' I was given a bye, so I wandered around the building for a while. I came back and then I suddenly hear a friend of mine call out my name before I even enter the room, eventually telling me that they re-paired, or something like that, and that I was now facing him. If I had actually gone out to get a drink, like I planned to, my ascent(sp?/gr?) to the finals would never have happened. ...Though, I lost in the finals against a cool Gladiator Beast deck. I was unintentionally prepared for it*, but things weren't as fun as it was when I faced a DAD deck earlier on. People thought the Penguin Soldier saving me on a few occasions was kinda cool, so I'm happy he gets a little recognition. ^_^' ...I'm sure I misplayed in Game 2 of the final match (I had the first turn. I should have activated Royal Oppression right away [opponent's turn - Turn 2] instead of waiting for the opponent to begin setting up that Gyzarus fusion [Turn 4] -- Oppression got negated by... Solemn Judgment, I think - either that or Dark Bribe). I'm sure that was what cost me that duel (probably would have lost the match, though...). @"Watch out[...]": ^ T-T I wish I could've seen that post....* Would have been more prepared for a "Gladiator" assault... psychologically, at least.** *[caught GO bus at 10:20 to get there around 11:30am] **[Had never once battled against a Gladiator Beast deck before today] Edited by Rina Kasakura, Jun 29 2008, 12:22 AM.

Aww.. don't feel bad, Miss Rina. Ice-cream? Wish Sakaki is here. She's better at cheering up people rather than me.

So Rina you are Tony Bernard? At least you made it to the Finals with your weird Burn deck thingy I guess I should've posted that warning in my first post so that you would be aware of the Glads and be more prepared for their deadly Contact Fusions. Unless the LCQ was easy, you shouldn't have too much trouble at Regs.

I wish I didn't have that much trouble ^_^' Ended up 36th of 66 in the regionals (3 straight losses - 3 straight wins) Ironically(?) my first loss was against a Gladiator Beast deck. (...wish I had Book of Eclipse). I never even drew my sided cards (My Body as a Shield, Royal Oppression, and a Waboku -- gonna switch Waboku for a Threatening Roar) Penguin Soldier helped, but not for long.... My worst loss was against a D.D. RFG deck. It was one that I felt I should've been able to handle, but I just couldn't stop Banisher (Radiance) (had LLAB on field). T-T But all in all, it was fun, and now that I finally have experience against these decks, I can fine tune my side deck a bit. My summary of the two days: "Equivalent Exchange" ^.^ ... -.-||| Oh well, I'm beating Dan Connel in feature matches, now. That makes me kinda happy (only because he pointed that out to me and kinda ranted about it and how he can totally beat me (which he can [and has on many occasions - I've only beaten him a handful of times - we see each other a lot at different local tournaments]. ^_^' Edited by Rina Kasakura, Jun 30 2008, 01:33 PM.

Hmmmmmm...you did quite well in the grand scheme of things, all things considered. And you gathered valuable battle experience to boot! Well done! =D |

With a deck like mine, nothing's easy. But almost every duel was fun. The Gladiator duel would've been fun if Gyzarus's effect only destroyed 1 card instead of two. 2 simultaneously destroyed cards on a regular basis = near-instant doom -_-||| But for some reason, it put a smile on my face. In retrospect, I realized a few months ago that I love facing decks that give me a hard time, without me being too overwhelmed. exs: - D.A.D. - Six Samurai - Lightsworn - Fairies (any version) - Giant Kozaky (L.C.R. Quarter Finals) - ...(I think it was a "Simorgh" monster on YVD - cannot set cards or cannot activate set cards, or something like that) - Burn (any version) - Monarch (any version) - Gadgets ("") - (Any lower-tiered deck) |
