I do think the site is dead. Takuya, if you find a good one, send it to me. |

I think things are still alright. I'll be so bold to say that if anything, people may be having a hard time coming up with a "good" way to advance the RP. The main thread, currently, IMO, is the class thread. With Kratos gone, Sakaki has to make up where he left off. We, honestly, need a class that'll finish properly, for once. If I knew anything about Psychology, I'd step in. But I don't, so I kinda feel restricted, which, to a point, is fine. That might be the issue for others, as well, but I'll only speak for myself. Ignoring the exams issue for the moment, everyone knows that once the characters have their freedom again, RP posts will be all over the place. It's a fact. It always has been. It's the lack of insight that prevents class-like topics from advancing to a proper end. In the class's current situation, with class in its final, what, ten minutes, I'd (if I knew what I was doing) assign some written questionnaire(sp?) with a bunch of questions on it. They have the rest of the class time to finish it. If they don't finish before class lets out, they get it as homework to be placed in Kratos's homework drop box by the next RP day. Sakaki'll have to pick them up, of course. ^_^; Those who left class early will most likely lose out on those marks for not staying in class. |

Don't we always? And Rina, even if all what you say is true, there is still the problem of Rou's plot. He changes it every other day, and it hasn't even advanced yet. >_> |

Can't argue the fact that Plot advancement is the key, here. But I don't think the plot can advance if the days drag on 1 by 1, and are halting every once in a while, on top of that. Then again, I'm in the dark about what the plot actually is, so the above opinion could be wrong. Maybe the plot isn't supposed to actually start yet. [Shrug] I dunno. .... ...On that note: Hey Rounin, any plot plans for the next few RP days [intending to suggest a "Time Jump" once this RP day (day 2) is done]? (You don't need to say what, just if anything important is planned. Might as well skip over the unimportant days, for now, I guess, right? Edited by Rina Kasakura, May 4 2008, 11:20 PM.

I agree with Rina. I mean... none of us really have anything to guide us. We either stick with the classroom topics, which are few and far between, or just randomly wander around trying to create a story. |

Rated R - Parental Discretion is Advised

My plot kinda ended up getting a little bit "shown up" when Kouji's character died. I actually had intended for it to play a role in the forwarding of my plot, but it was taken by someone else, and now the plot that I had intended for us to use is more or less, well just not nearly as significant as it once would have been. I'm working to see if I can't make something improved from what once was. I actually don't have anything planned for awhile, since the plot was only really supposed to do anything really important around Christmas time, and with the idea of making some sort of "timed" RPs pretty much gone, I'm at a bit of a loss as to how to make time in the RP progress faster. I dunno, I'll figure something out. This site is suffering a lot from its premature opening and its lack of rules and the like. Perhaps it would be best to shut it down for a few days and totally sort everything out, figure out what all we can do to improve it? The council and the admins could work together and fix the problem, but I'm not sure what the best course of action is. Meh, thoughts? |

If you shut the site down, you might just be killing it. Lack of rules and the like is a problem, but it doesn't affect activity. Personally, I'm not very active right now simply because no one else is really active. (Of course, on request, I'd be happy to zombify/fish slap some people.)) |

I wont back down!

Seems we have a problem we dunno how to solve. Maybe an implication of slight RP rules would make it go faster, like 3 topic transitions, minus single-post transitions = one day? again, raw idea, highly negociable. just start there <_< |

From experience, I say do not shut it down. It really will kill the site. As far as timed RPs are concerned, the only important parts to note are class times and day-progressing. For classes, we can just use the Announcement section to let people know that a specific class, or event, will begin on a specific day (IRL) or after a specific event (ex. after funeral). The "Time Lags" that we had during the Funeral-Psychology period weren't a real problem. All of them (except for Rina and Yukio's) have caught up to the main class thread. And even then, (at least) Rina is currently in the classroom, as I've created an RP "bridge (explanation of how/why she got there when she did)" to the thread for when the Lagging thread (ice cream shoppe thread) ends. Everyone already does that, so Time Lags aren't an issue, so long as everyone knows that the main story is progressing. Day Progression. RPs don't have to go from day 1 to day 2 to day 3 and so on all the time. If nothing important is planned, you can go from day 1 to day 14 in one shot. Imagining it from an anime or manga point of view, not every story takes place on the "next day." Taking the duel tournament into consideration, all dorm scores can increased by 2 points, each, per skipped day, to simulate dueling during those days, while also ensuring that ground isn't lost for dorms of any placing. Day Progression is as easy(?) as posting in the Announcement section and saying, for example: Thread Title: "Afternoon" Announcement (RP Day #2) With classes ending for the day, we (Admin and mods) are shifting the RP to "Afternoon." This change will take effect next Monday (May 12th). Please prepare by either concluding all current threads by then, or continuing them with the "Afternoon" setting. ---NOTICE!--- When we reach the next RP day, a "Time Jump" will be initiated. We will end "Day 2" (Tuesday? ["today"]) and skip ahead to "Day 7" (A Sunday, if Day 1 [first day of classes] was a Monday). A day of relaxation at the academy, for all. With no classes held on this day. Enjoy it as you see fit, within the boundaries of the rules, of course. ![]() [Insert brief details or vague idea of mini-storyline (Those 1-Episode stories) or main story arc here, if applicable, so that people know that something is supposed to happen, and can decide ahead of time if they wish to be involved in it, or create their own storied path] (This notice will be repeated in the "Nighttime Announcement.") (Dorm Dinners will served at the begin of the "Nighttime" setting) (^^^ Feel free to use it as your own - What do I care; as long as it works out.) Something like that, with more, or less, detail as is needed. When a Time Jump occurs, if one of the users wanted their character to do something during one of the skipped days, the can just post, IC, what they did that day that was worth mentioning, kinda like a flashback of sorts. [Brain fart] .... .... Did I forget to mention anything? Edited by Rina Kasakura, May 5 2008, 05:54 PM.
