More people to grade exams

A thought I've been having for quite some time. Some days, weeks, etc the three members of the staff can be busy. It happens, and they shouldn't be asked to forgoe a typical sleep schedule or fail classes or push work aside just because someone wants to know their exam grades immediately. Trust me, they take a long time to do, and just as long to give back, assuming you're test... giver... provides good, meaningful content.

However, my suggestion is to expand this minor role. Give a slew of people the ability to give out and grade exams, along with the ability to see the major test pool, along with the ability to provide meaningful discussion on the subjection. Perhaps a "joinable groups" kind of thing, or giving the individual members specific permissions to give out exams. Of course, we'd not pick a random duelist to give out and receive the exams. Someone who has a proven track record of not being an idiot would suffice.

We have more than enough time to grade exams. Thank you for the consideration.

We have more than enough time to grade exams at the current rate of influx of new members
Fix'd your thing for you. Just because you have enough to work with for right now, doesn't mean things couldn't possibly pick up. Please take this seriously and do not act so short sighted.

We can pass off overflow Exams to willing Blues and/or Epic Tournament winners, in that case. If we need help, we'll post a topic asking for volunteers.

Gross idea is gross, Dani. Especially when it's considered in relation to the retesting that I want you guys to look at.

What do you all think about the KDE Judges exam?

@ Rou: The Staff can easily handle the Blue retest exams. We can pass off any overflow to the current Blue volunteers. The Staff can then skim the Blue-graded tests to make sure they were graded properly in relation to the Staff's usual standards.

@ Gouki: I'd rather the forum use its own Exam, although the Judges' Exam is a great source of both inspiration and practice.

Why is it that you're dismissing every word that I've said? You're not even listening, and just saying that we'll do this without even considering compromise, or ANYTHING. Cut it out, it's annoying, and it's dictatorial.

These are the words you have said. Why are you dismissing every word I've said? Retest is only a go if the Blues agree to it (since they have the most to lose). Unless that action passes, you planning what-ifs for it is really unproductive.

Exam grading procedure is not exactly something which affects the members as a whole. It is the responsibility of the Staff to grade them. This topic is only for the case in which the Staff becomes overwhelmed with Exams, and needs assistance. My answer is simple: we ask for volunteers (it would be horrible to draft anyone) to grade the overflow exams. It is a simple solution to the problem.

In one breath, you're criticising my inability to make "swift, quality decisions" as well as my making of "swift, quality decisions" (i.e. ones which address the problem and inconvenience no one). Please make up your mind.

It shouldn't be left up to the Blues, since they would obviously be less apt to want to do so. The constant retesting of ALL members was the issue that was brought up, not just the retesting of the Blues. They were just the example that I used. You should learn to read better.

Why is it the responsibility of the staff to grade the exams, anyway? There's a crop of members that I would call better, and more suited to grading exams than you, and Aoi, and probably Tony too. Why should it be staff's responsibility to do so when there are other, better suited members to do so? Also, when considering retesting, which is being argued to become a mandatory process, there would be an influx of fifteen or more exams every time skip, give or take, and that is a bit heavy a load for "the staff" to grade in a timely fashion. Thus, I purpose we do the opposite.

I purpose that, rather than having the staff be the official exam graders, we instead pass the responsibilities off to a certain group of members to be decided at the end of this topic, who will have full control over the test, and then if they are to get overloaded, THEN the staff may take on some of the overflow. The idea takes a burden off the staff members, and opens up the potential for fresher ideas to be added. Further collaboration of the individuals could even provide with a completely revamped test, which could be better than our current one.

Idea.
