The greatest creativity is always a result of competition. Individuals on our board have the potential to be extremely creative, and yet our plots are fairly lackluster and boring even. We, as members, need to step up and create a more intricate plot for our board. Something that will create an interesting environment that encourages RPing, as well as allows for easy access for everyone else. I purpose that our plots, henceforth be a contest of creativity, innovation, and an idea that seems the most fun. I also purpose that a prize of some sort be offered to the person whose plot is used, as well as full credit being given to the person who writes it. I suggest that a person submit to the winner be given a prize of two boosters from a recent set, or a quick ten bucks. If no one else is willing, I would be willing to send prizes myself. |

There is no Main Plot per se. Rather, character plots drive the storyline. I don't mind if you want to send items out to people, though. |

While I agree there are some who strive to create their own plot, there a few of us who do need more guidance. I mean, the board was half dead until Vandy eventually started the whole Dark Redemption thing. |

That's what I said. It's his character plot. |

I think you and I have vastly different definitions of the term "character plot"... But, as I see it, his thread is more of a determined versus kind of thread, whereas something else that I don't feel like thinking of an example of because I don't read the topics are more "character driven" stories. Aoi gets hit by a car. Her friends help her get back up. Billie gets her heart broke. Dani provides her with sweet sweet luvin', those are all mostly character driven storylines, whereas Vandy's is more of a specific and definite conflict, more vague and can include more members, which is the kind of plots we're trying to promote here. Or at least that's how I see it. |

Well, I thought people who wanted to have their own plot would take initiative and just start writing it. I mean, that's why we have "General Roleplay Discussion" forum. "If you want to rally your dorm together for some reason, or whatever" -- it's been there for you to use all along. Plot contests sounds a lot like the plotline ideas threads, where everyone sits down and comes up with ideas and we all vote on a new plotline/setting/scenario when a new time skip is coming up. If you want to rally people together for some subplot, then go for it. We have a forum for that. I'm not going to force a sitewide subplot, because invariably someone is going to want out. |

The idea here isn't to make some strict, hard *** plot that we all have to stick to in this matter. The idea here is about increasing the quality, and the environment of RP we have here. We should ALWAYS have some sort of main conflict that needs resolving, because that drives for a more compelling story than, "Hey, we're on the mainland. Gogogo." Also, it's not a subplot, it's a conflict that would exist in the boundaries of the setting we're in. If someone were to want out, then that's their choice. They can ignore the main plot, and have their character do whatever, or they can participate. Either one of which can offer different character development options, and different potential conflicts. However, in my opinion, by lacking a central conflict that our story centers around, we have a greatly diminished quality of RP. |

What Rou said. something to drive members to want to RP to complete a point, if they dont have character developing they dont fully want to partake in. A forum I go to had their own plot board, specifically for the creation of plots. Though, their RP universe is much wider and broad, so >_> Eh. I like the idea of having a main storyline for the current time period that character may choose to or not to work towards fulfilling. It gives people not currently in character development to do something without just doing something for the sake of not doing nothing. |

http://s1.zetaboards.com/Crimson_Wind_Academy/forum/61770/ Also, I've expected RPing to be largely self-driven. However, if you wish the Staff to promote members generating ideas, we can help facilitate that process. |
