Following the previous duel the opening of a strange elevator had allowed the challengers to proceed. A few seconds later the next level in this merciless tower had been reached, and with it came a new challenger, yet another duelist to slow down the visitors; and this time it could be their last considering their current progress, over half the opponents remained, and the quota to finish it all was definitely not far behind those percentajges. The elevator revealed their new path: There was nothing to see, complete blackness shrouded the entire room impeding the sight of the upcoming group up to where they barely could even discern each other; everything else remained under complete concealment. Luckily for everyone, the path opened forward, all that was needed was to walk straight forward from where the elevator had left them and they would probably reach another one standing on the exact opposite end of the room. At the moment, it was hard to tell how wide or large the place was... It could, by all means be some wide open space or in contrast, some dark and narrow hallway, obviously each room possessed it's own features though that would rarely affect the outcome of the duels. The temperature was was cold and dry while the air felt dull and empty, giving the impression that one was standing within some kind of abyss. As the group step foward (More likely careful as to not stray off) their steps would echo, the noise right back at themselves; proving the hollowness of the area they were crossing. A few steps further into the darkness triggered a singal: 2 large torches (3x3ft) standing at opposite sides of a rather narrow road spewed out bright blue flames illuminating the vincinity around them (Yet there were no other features in the room to make note of, it seemed completely straightfoward and empty). Following the road another 12ft or so would cause a second pair of these flames to come alive, warning the duelists that they were approaching their destiny. The event of torches would have to repeat 3 more times in order for the road to come to its end; upon triggering the fifth pair, a large circle of flames rapidly erupts in the area directly in front (With a good 25ft diameter, enough for a duel) revealing within the centre of it, the presence of a shadowy figure, more than likely, their next challenge. The figure seemed to be sitting upon a single chair that appeared rather out of place, the shape wasn't perfectly discernable at such distance as the rather odd blue flames proved not enough to extinguish the perpetual darkness that reigned in those halls. This room was definitely the darkest of the rooms the crew had faced so far. Jason was having trouble theorizing specifically what this deck could be, but he had an odd opinion that it could be some mixture of dark or fire monsters. At the same time, though, the blue flames had somewhat of an eerie feel to them. Perhaps that was another sign, but Jason wasn't ready to think. He was just ready to act. "I'm done being on the sidelines," Jason told his future classmates. "I'll start this one up. You guys can finish him if I fail." He specifically looked at Lex, who also had not gone yet, but indirectly referred to Sean and Gouki, who were both still alive. He still hadn't considered the lifelines, but he hoped it wouldn't have to come to that. He was somewhat shocked at the quietness of this mystery challenger. He (or she, as the darkness made it impossible to tell) was being awfully quiet, which certainly didn't help matters. If the first challenger wanted to keep his identity a secret, then this one wanted anonymity even less. Either that, or they were ugly as sin, but Jason assumed the former. He straightened his hoodie and gave his deck one last shuffle before stepping into the circle. He inserted his deck into his disk, and immediately the card zones shifted outward and folded together, finally taking their dueling position. He was ready to go. "Time for Jason O'Connell to step up," Jason called out. "I don't know who you are, but consider this my challenge. You gonna say anything before I take you on?" |

Lex looked on as the Osiris male stepped forward as he was assessing the situation. It seemed that the rooms had quite a bit to do with the deck themes that they were playing against. And in retrospect, while the earlier two were reasonably easy to figure out the base theme, this one seemed a tad more complex. With what he could notice, the darkness, the flames that lit the way, and the ring of fire, Lex considered the possibilities of a Darkness Burn deck, a 'Chaos' or 'Twilight' deck, oddly enough, a Zombie deck, and stranger still, a Ritual-based deck. And while he could speculate all day, it would be best to simply scout the opponent and save time. Lex wasn't going to complain about Jason going first. It would give the Caucasian teen more time to consider a base battle plan. "Go get 'em," he called out in the partially lit darkness. Of course, Lexington wouldn't mind if Jason could manage a victory - better for the group. |

In the inside of the azure circumference it would soon become possible to discern a single sitting slender figure, surely that of a female. Her right leg rested above her other one in a crossed position, a favorite of females as to remain comfortable while sitting regardless of place. Of her facial features there was nothing discernible outside of a pair of sharp crimson orbs that proved to be her eyes. She stared directly against the face of who would be her first victim of the evening, straying off the remainder of the group (Which she had been able to examine as soon as they came in), yet she remained completely motionless waiting for the young boy whom had dared to step up, make his first move. The young student revealed his duel disk in a sign of challenge, at which the defender of the room responded to simply with the arching up of her eyebrow in a show of curiosity. At this time, a loud noise quickly roared across the room, this thunderous sound came accompanied with a flash of colorful light that flashed across the entire perimeter, illuminating the place for approximately a second. The moment of illumination was enough to admire the walls and floor of the long structure: Everything was completely ridden with a variety of undecipherable ancient runes written across every centimeter of the otherwise simple location. If the previous events had not been distracting enough, the clever eye could manage to admire the properties of the figure they were challenging. A fair female with ghostly pale skin wearing a black colored uniform, surely because of her membership within the organization, but then again it presented special features that distinguished it from the standard issue uniforms, probably expressing her exclusive position in the hierarchy. Image Without uttering a single word, the woman straightened her sitting position and stood up elegantly from her accommodation, now standing face to face with the intruder. With the flick of her pale naked arm a black shape became discernible, covering her forearm: more specifically, a Duel disk, which had seemed to come out of nowhere (More likely hidden somewhere nearby) and magically appear on her right wrist. The duel disk didn't seem very special, it was colored black (common enough) and the edges seemed sharper and less round that usual, the different lights were golden colored; yet it didn't have any more of them that those truly needed for its optimal operation (In other words, not specially flashy). Nodding her head, the figure assumed the dueling position, separating her legs slightly and putting her arms in position to better access the duel disk; all in one quick movement. Her figure did not move an inch, appearing like a statue (Further supporting her dozen previous intimidation tactics) and staring sharply at her opponent, like a snake ready to attack. Within her lips soon escaped but a single word uttered like that of a ghostly whisper; more than enough to signal the commencement of this duel. == Agent μ == " Duel..." As the holographic smoke cleared and the hologram of the Tormentor faded, Jason lay on all fours. The attack at the end from one of the most powerful cards in all of Duel Monsters (besides Jeff Goldblum) had taken its toll. "Well..." he sighed, "I tried. Now you guys know what you're up against." He came to his feet and managed to exit the ring, but still, he felt a bit weird. Not too different, but he felt just a bit more winded than he usually was. He just shrugged it off though, assuming it was only related to Obelisk's attack. |

"--...! Obelisk...!?" One of the few fabled cards of the games history, Obelisk the Tormentor, had been brought forth to crush any hope of survival for the Orisis rock user. And while he was unable to reduce the agent's life points, he did manage to buy enough time for everyone else to lay witness to his opponent's powerful cards. The female pro was quite skilled, which made Lex hesitate to step forward for only a brief moment. He remembered that this was simply a test of his skills and nothing more... as far as he was aware, brought about by 'Z'. If he held back on the offer to test his ability against a Pro Duelist, what kind of duelist would that make him? ".... .... I guess this means I'm up next," he said aloud to himself as he stared towards the agent. As Jason rejoined the group, Lex passed him by at close distance. "Wish me luck." To himself, he thought, as he activated his cyclone academy disk, "Hopefully it won't be too one sided like most of the others. ...Let's see how much damage I can do...." Once he was in place, the blue-haired male shuffled his deck before inserting it into the dueling apparatus. Eye contact was made on his part. "I'm Lexington Adams of Obelisk Blue. ...Let's duel," he said, unaware of the quota that had been set, or how close he'd be to the Obelisk he had just seen. The Cyclone disk whirred towards near-silence. |

JeY is Sexy.

The room was bizarre in itself, though JeY really enjoyed the scene of the previous room. The fact that the duelist used Water monsters was pretty notable as well, but he was too flustered about being completely sacked in the first duel to say anything to anyone, or even move much. Mostly, he wanted to ghost his way out of attention for a while. Though, now that more and more have been losing, he was starting to break out of the shell he buried himself under. And now that a fellow student was crushed by none other than... Obelisk the Tormentor!? Wait a minute, that's freakin' insane! he thought to himself. He decided to make the others aware of his existence after all. "That's just ridiculous... Well, good luck, Lex! Give her no chance." He said, very prolifically. He had NO idea what and how Lexington actually ran, as he's never seen him in his life (but then again, concerning his departure), so there was a lot of hope based here. Maybe weakened enough, JeY could go in for a quick sweep to finish her off. It was an idea, but he hoped that it wouldn't have to be implemented. He'd rather throw himself at the next duelist, and weaken them badly (or possibly win!) being at only half his potential from respawning. He wasn't a major piece anymore, just a small tool with vague hopes of success. Espcially if JeY's stroke of luck from the last duel were to carry on. He sighed quietly. ALL hope wasn't lost, yet. |

Hearing the encouragement from another duelist, Lex half-turned around, glancing back at the voice's likely owner. It was good to see another 'team player' lending his support. The blue-haired teen nodded with a serious expression on his face. "Mm. I'll do what I can...." Turning his head back to the lady, his ponytail flowing briefly, Lex called out to her again, signaling his preparedness. "Any time you're ready...!" His determined look had a hint of uncertainty in it. Was it a gut feeling, or just his nerves after seeing his dorm's embodiment erupt before everybody during the previous duel? |

No words were spoken, the female agent seemed not very interested in the results of the last duel, she was simply doing her job of testing the resolve and dueling skill of the promiment students chosen to visit Z's dueling installations and participate in his game. She certainly didn't make it seem like there was any deeper purpose to all of this combat; her silence remained seemed to be kind of unfriendly however... But more than likely was nothing more than sme intimidation tactic to make Z's game more exciting. She nodded her head as Jason left the flaming circle that represented the dueling field. By now, the common human would've become able to distingish objects in the room using only the dim light of the torches (Their pupils adapted to this darkness) but the place still remained unnaturaly dark. A blue-haired boy was up next, he walked over to his specified spot and activated the duel disk without hesitation. The guy seemed to host of certain doubt, and his expression did not reflect signs of a proper and complete confidence, likely a result of the morale-crushing methods Agent Mu had used up until now... Perhaps this duel would be easier than the last... Yet underestimating anyone was a common and foolish mistake. The agent already had the duel disk out and prepared. Activating the mechanism to reset and shuffle her deck the woman closed her eyes for a couple of seconds, opening the crimson orbs as soon as the light sound of shuffling cardboard was over, signaling the beggining of the duel. This time she did not even bother to mention the word "Duel", both players just drew their cards. |

The holograms faded. As the duel disks powered down, Lex sighed. "There are a lot of one-sided duels, here," he thought to himself, relieved to have gotten through the trial of the zombie ritual, earning victory before the ritualistic summoning of Obelisk the Tormentor could occur. Returning his deck to its holster, Lex bowed in respect to the Pro Duelist, who had taken time out of her schedule to be a part of this test. "Thank you. It was an honor." The blue-haired teen wasn't certain whether the strange lady would respond or not - though his eyes adjusted a bit, it would still be hard to tell if it was miniscule in any way. He backed away at first, seeing if she would respond, in which case, he'd acknowledge her response. He would then turn around, ready to rejoin the group.
