[OOC: Someone's free to join if they want, otherwise I'll poke somewhere else, as this is just meant to be a character intro type thing. Giving it ~24 hours before I call it closed and move on.] The sun was nearing the end of its westward journey as yet another ship made its way into the port area of Transit Towers in Silvershine. Like most ships, this one carried passengers and cargo from various locales making way to the city. This particular ship also happened to carry a duelist newly enrolled in the Crimson Wind Academy. While this duelist certainly was not required to go to Silvershine, where the students were currently on a field trip they were soon to return from, he felt that he should still show up there to see if he could meet any classmates or teachers outside of the academic environment. What a better place to do that than some place off campus entirely? Of course, this duelist made sure all of his ducks were in a row before his brief journey began. Academy officials were aware that he was going, and most of his belongings were en route to the Osiris Red dormitory. The duelist only had a few things on his person: some cash in order to buy food, and his backpack, which contained his Deck and an outdated 2nd edition DUEL DISK SYSTEM. (Trademark.) He figured it'd be all he needed to get by for the couple days he'd be in town. The ship docked in the harbor and most of the passengers began to disembark. Among those who had not, besides some of the ship's crew, were two young duelists engaged in what appeared to be a close, heated duel. One duelist was somewhat short with dark, spiky hair. He possessed a newer duel disk, but at this particular juncture he appeared to be in a bit of danger [LP 1700]. His opponent, a somewhat shaggy teen had two monsters out, including a successfully summoned Valkyrion the Magna Warrior [ATK 3500], but his life points [1200] had seen better days. It appeared to be the spiky kid's turn. "Lucky break," the spiky kid mumbled as he drew his card for the turn. He then smiled. "Time to say good-bye to Spell Reactor RE, and hello to JINZO!" Despite the face-down card on the shaggy kid's field, Jinzo [ATK 2400] came in without a hitch, albeit with a sullen look on on his face. Too bad it's just a Magic Jammer and not Solemn, the shaggy duelist thought. Good thing I'm still pretty close to winning next turn. All I need to do is summon a monster. "Of course," the turn player continued, "Jinzo's effect prevents us from using any trap cards. And now, my Jinzo's going to attack your Fossil Tusker!" [Shaggy LP: 600] "Now I activate the spell card I just drew, Swords of Revealing Light!" The messy one let out a massive sigh of disbelief here, as clearly this wasn't in his plans. "As you seem to know, Swords of Revealing Light prevents you from attacking for 3 turns. By that point, I'm sure I'll have drawn something to beat you. Your move." The spiky kid's opponent stood there for a few seconds, obviously eyeing the field and his hand. His hand didn't reveal much, as at this particular moment it was empty. And with his useless Valkyrion on the field, he figured he was at least able to survive that long, provided something huge didn't appear on the other side of the table. "It's a good thing Jason O'Connell doesn't go down without a fight," the dirty blonde replied as he drew his card. A glint appeared in his eyes after looking at it. "First," Jason began to explain as he reached for his disk, "I activate Valkyrion's ability, pitching him to summon the Magnet Warriors Alpha, Beta, and Gamma!" [ATK 1400] [ATK 1700] [ATK 1500] "You realize that you just gave me the game!?" Jason's opponent barked. "Let me finish," Jason replied, interrupting him. "Splitting him was integral to my plan, you see. Because now I can tribute Alpha to summon Castle Gate in attack position!" [ATK 0] His opponent was baffled by this point. "Now you've lost it. That thing has no points! There's no way you can win!" "That's where you're wrong!" Jason shouted, knowing the ability of his own card. "When Castle Gate is in attack position, he has this ability. I can tribute a monster of level 5 or less to deal direct damage to your life points. Damage equal to the original attack points of the monster I sacrifice!" "But that means..." was all his opponent could mutter before appearing awestruck. "That's right. Bye-bye Beta, hello victory!" [Opp LP: 0] "You've gotta be ******* me," Jason's opponent sighed before going to shore. Jason looked down at his cards before giving them a quick shuffle. He returned them to his deck box and deactivated his disk, knowing that it wasn't a fluke that he was accepted to the Academy. As he entered the famed Transit Towers, he knew that, in the coming days, he would not only find his new home, but with luck he'd find a way to forget his old one.
