Jake gave the boy a smile himself as he shook his hand. "My name is Jake. People call me.. well, not really alot of people know me." Jake said as he took his hand back and pulled out his PDA. "Lets see... I have... umm, one person on my list. Wow, thats even less than I thought." he said as he put it back into his jacket. |

"Well, most people being anyone in my family," the younger boy added, returning the handshake firmly. Coming from a family of six, he knew it was rare to actually be alone. Not that he minded spending time around other people... or even lots of other people. The more chaos around, the better. "But they don't make that big a deal about what dorm you're in, do they?" Before coming here, the thing that he had been most nervous about was taking the entrance exam. He'd heard stories about people who failed and ended up living in the rather poor living conditions that constituted the dormitory (if it could truly be called a dormitory) known as Sebek Green. Though his deck building abilities were shaky at best, he'd managed to do fairly well on the terminology and rulings questions, as well as on the dueling portion. "I mean, does anyone really care that much?" |

"I'm not sure about that, but something seems to always poke out about the ones with alot of friends. It seems like they are mostly the Ra Yellows and Obelisk Blues. Most of the Reds I know seem to be alone most of the time. I don't know if its from the Ras and Obelisks being close and having fun duels to test each other's decks to make sure they are still strong or help them out. But it just seems that the students from Osiris are just meant to be stuck here forever. I don't think i've seen an Osiris go up to Ra." Jake said as he looked around and began to walk over to the Spells. "I am not sure if being popular contests to that or if its just the natural talent of some of the students but that seems to be what I have noticed. Maybe thats why I haven't been able to get such a good record. All of my duels at the Academy have been duels that go down on record. If I had a crappy deck, that was it. I was screwed to take the loss. Thats kind of why I wanted to go with a deck that was made by someone who is better than me." he explained as he began to pick out the spells. |

Keith nodded as the boy explained the differences between the dorms. Coming from a small town, he'd never really experienced a whole lot of superiority, other than those who got the best grades or knew all the answers in Bible class at school would get bragging rights on the playground. "Is it against the rules for us Reds to duel each other for fun and to improve our decks?" If this didn't denote that the youth was new to the Academy, it would be hard to find something that did. Keith glanced over at a display full of spell and trap cards and picked up a Scrap Iron Scarecrow. That could be useful, he thought to himself. One thing that he'd learned from his cousin was that traps and countertraps were some of the most useful and interesting cards in the game. "So you want someone else to build a deck for you to play?" To Keith, that seemed a bit odd. Always preferring to do things on his own rather than ask for help, the young Osiris couldn't seem to understand that not everyone shared the same opinions that he did. |

"Yes, Osirises can duel each other. But we come around so rarely now a days and the few that are here are mostly too busy trying to get promoted so help other Reds. So the chances for Reds to duel each other don't come around too much." Jake told him as he looked back to him, a little annoyed that he asked him about the deck. "No, I would rather build my own deck, but there is one thing I have to face up to. I suck at deck building. All of the other decks I have tried to build have been complete failures. So now, i've just given up trying to make my own deck and decided to go with the idea of someone who has been more sucessful in the academy than me." he explained as he got the rest of the cards for the deck. |
