The door to the card shop opened in a swift motion, then closed. Inside the once empty shop now stood a male student who looked around. "Been awhile since I have been in here." he said as he looked around at the various Synchro and strong Effect monsters that seemed to be the best that the store sold. "Pyro.. nah, I suck at those now. Beast, no thanks." he said as he went through the various types of cards that the store had for sale, neatly arranged to tell them by their types. He noticed one card that was on a mantle above the next set. "Hmm, this card looks nice." he muttered as he took it and began to fumble through the cards under it, looking for ones that would coordinate nicely with each other. |

Keith didn't know what he was doing here, but since he had a bit of extra time after grabbing a sandwich for dinner, he decided to head down to the card shop. It'd probably be fun to look around a bit and besides, he still needed to find another card for a second deck he was trying to build. Sure, he still had his Archfiends, which were great and all that, but he'd been toying with the idea of building a strongly aggressive spellcasters deck. And he needed one card for it: Chaos Sorcerer. As the teenager entered the shop and walked towards the front display area, he spotted another youth who was probably a few years older than he was. Perhaps he'd be some help in building a deck or could suggest a new idea to consider. "Hey," he commented, glancing over at the taller teenager. "You wouldn't happen to be deck building, would you? |

Jake was almost finished searching for all of the monsters he was going to use in his deck when he heard another voice in the shop. He didn't hear the door open and he knew he was the only one in the shop when he first entered the building. He was too busy concentrating on trying to make such a good deck that he had missed the other student coming into the place. He quickly grabbed the final card he wanted and turned to look at the student. "Uh, yeah. My current deck has been failing me recently so I decided to try for something new. Kinda hard to make a good deck against all of the good students the Academy has and me being a Red but I seem to make out pretty good sometimes. Why do you ask?" he asked as he knew where the traps and spells were, but decided to see what the younger male seemed to want with him. |

At the mention of the Academy (and specifically that of the dorm that he'd just been placed into a few days before), Keith's eyes brightened. "Hey, that's the dorm I'm in, too!" His glance moved from looking at the rather shiny (in his opinion) picture of the chaos sorcerer on the card towards the taller youth. On the second thought, he wasn't too fond of the idea of spellcasters, especially since a lot of the ones he had seen tended to have really weak effects, such as 'put a spellcounter on each-face-up card on the field that you can put a spellcounter on'. Perhaps it'd be best to look for a few cards to better round-out his Archfiend deck. "Yeah..." Keith reached into his pocket and pulled out a wooden chess piece and began toying with it in his left hand. "I guess you could sorta say I'm new to this whole deck-building thing and I was, uh, wondering if you could give me a few pointers or something." |

"Oh believe me dude, you don't want me to help you with this." he said as he pulled out a piece of paper and handed him to it. "I am building a deck based on this guide. It was made by a Danielle Chirel with a little replacement. I think she goes to the school. If I remember correctly, she is in the Ra Yellow dorm and is really good." Jake told him as he turned the paper around to look at all of the monsters. "Hmm.. I think I am missing one." Jake said as he counted the cards and make a list in his head of which ones he had, "This is an interesting choice." Jake said as he looked over to the Spellcasters real quick and looked through the cards. "C..C...C... Chaos. Here it is." he muttered to himself as he pulled out a Chaos Sorcerer. "Not really quite sure how well it fits in this deck but she recommends it." he said as he added it to his current deck and walked back over to the other Red. |

As the other student mentioned the name of a student in Ra Yellow, Keith made a mental note to go see if he could figure out who this Danielle person was and maybe ask her for some help later on. But that would probably have to wait until they got back to campus. Who knows? It was entirely possible that they'd have a class together or something. That way, approaching her would be a heck of a lot less awkward than it would if he just ran up to her and asked if he could have some help building a deck. "You aren't running spellcasters, are you?" Keith queried after the older boy picked up the card he'd been looking at. Though Aislynn, his cousin, primarily ran fairies, she taught him how to play using a spellcasters structure deck. Given Chaos Sorcerer's summoning requirements and the fact that every spellcaster he'd seen was either light or dark (other than Magical Exemplar), it seemed as though he would work best in a spellcaster deck. While he was waiting for the other student to reply, he glanced over at some of the other cards. Archfiend Soldier might be a good one to add to his deck. Though his deck was solid, he noticed one inherent weakness and unfortunately, it had cost him at least one duel before. |

"Nope, something completely different." Jake said as he fiddled with the cards in his small, incomplete deck and found a good one to explain. Here, this should explain what I run." he told the other Osiris as he showed him a Synchro monster, Plaguespreader Zombie. "I've found that one of my main problems with all of my decks is that I run is that I eventually run out of monsters to defend myself with or attack. So I looked for a deck where I could swarm the field easily and hopefully deal big damage with one attack." Jake explained as he put the card back into his deck and looked through to find his only light monster. "Still though, its going to be a challenge to summon Chaos Sorcerer unless I use the effect of Foolish Burial." Jake said as he checked off all of the monsters on the list since he had them all. "All I can say for my dueling skills as a whole is I am lucky that they didn't have a Sebek Green dorm when I took my test. I don't think I got a single duel win when I was a Freshman." he said as he put the paper back into his jacket's pocket. |

Keith nodded in agreement. Though he had never run out of monsters to defend or attack (unlike his cousin, who would frequently rely on trap cards like Mirror Force, Call of the Haunted or when she was playing her skill drain deck, Birthright), his archfiends had a trick of their own. Fortunately, this was easily resolved with a field spell and not too many people played field spells, so he didn't need to worry too much about getting Pandemonium knocked off the field by someone else's field spell card. "You're playing Chaos with only one light monster?" The younger boy was geniunely perplexed at this idea and his brow angled downwards slightly. "Don't you have to be pretty lucky for that?" At the mention of Sebek Green, Keith almost smiled. The Osiris student had just barely missed the cut-off for Ra Yellow; he was pretty sure that if he had dueled better during the practical portion of the exam, he would have been able to make it into the next higher ranked dorm. "Actually, its quite easy to get my light monster sent to the grave. I have alot of monsters in my deck to search for and it fits the requirements of it. Plus i'll add in the Spell card Foolish Burial so that will allow me to send it to the grave if needed." Jake told him, being able to figure out why the deck had only a few light monsters. "This deck does seem to be confusing though. Alot of different ways to play monsters that I have never done before. Plus this will be my first deck that I will run with Synchro monsters and I only have a single Tuner in my deck. It really makes me wonder if I am at the level I need to be to play such a deck of this ability." he told the other Osiris as he looked through his monsters once again. "But enough about me." he suddenly said, wanting to get off the subject. "I don't think i've ever seen you around the school.. or on the boat over here. Are you new or something?" Jake asked as he put his deck to his side and looked down to the younger and shorter duelist. |

Keith nodded. His archfiend deck had its fair share of synchro monsters, most notably Thought Ruler Archfiend, but he felt that he still didn't quite get the hang of running tuners and synchros. "Yeah, I'm kinda new," Keith replied, taking a moment to shove the chess piece back into the pocket of his jeans before offering a hand to the older boy. "I'm Keith Chandler, but most people either call me Keith or KC." He smiled slightly; it felt nice to meet a friendly duelist. |
