Danielle hesitated, unsure of how or if she should respond. Aoi seemed a bit upset about Rina's question on what movie to see. Rina tried to say something, but only managed out a weak apology. The silence lasted for two seconds. Then, Danielle jumped in to try and keep the conversation moving. "Well! There weren't really any movies that looked really good when I checked earlier." She recalled the titles that were showing at Rainbow Theatres. Helix was the only one that had caught her eye then, and it wasn't a bad movie. But she didn't want to go watch it again, and she wasn't sure Rina or Aoi were into bio-thrillers. She took a bite of the second apple Danish and thought for a moment. "I guess we could go to the mall anyway though. We could go look at what they have, or we could find something else to do there. There's a pretty cool arcade there, too, which might be worth checking out." |

"... I guess..." Aoi answered. She didn't particularly have anything she wanted to buy, to her knowledge. It would be much more of a window-shopping affair. There wasn't anywhere in particular she really wanted to go... but she did feel that she should leave the hotel. She would go somewhere where she might avoid the people she was supposed to know. Aoi's eyes remained focused on the dark remnants of tree rings that covered the wooden table in seemingly random array. She knew Rina would give some kind of input soon. |

"...Mm..." was her reply. Her eyes never left the back of the wheelchair. "...Let's go there, then..." she forced out, for their sake. If Aoi was willing to go somewhere, then she would go as well. Rina was in somewhat-deep thought, enough to vaguely hear what was going on around her and sense motion, but long silences wouldn't be noted. She lazed her blue eyes to herself for a moment. She couldn't help but think of what Aoi said to her last night. It repeated over and over.
".... .... ...." Softly shutting her eyes momentarily, she straightened herself out. "...I'm ready when you guys are." She lacked the usual enthusiasm, but that wasn't because of the destination: she was still thinking to herself. |

Danielle nodded, sensing a slight lack of enthusiasm from both Aoi and Rina. She decided to overplay her own excitement in order to maybe help them have a good and enjoyable time out of the hotel. Danielle gathered her writing tools and dropped them into her purse with one hand, while she used the other to put the rest of the last Danish in her mouth. She stood, closing her purse while she did so, chewing on the apple-flavored pastry. After a moment, she could speak again. She smiled at the pair. "Alright, let's go then!" She began to lead the way out of the hotel, glancing behind to make sure that they were following. [To: Mechanical Wings Part III?] |

Putting her thoughts on hold, Rina glanced over to make sure Aoi wasn't biting down on her own danish before moving the wheelchair with mostly her right hand - partially with her left, as her danish was held with it, only a single bit taken from it. Hopefully this excursion would become a healthy distraction. Noticing Danielle glance back made her realize that Danielle probably felt like someone who walked in on a foul argument between friends. Rina felt horrible, but planned on trying to chin up a little bit as they go along, for Dani's sake. All the while, trying not to lose any possible remains of friendship between herself and Aoi... though it may be self-delusion(?) .... ...We'll see how all that turns out.... |
