In addition to Epic Tournament 8, a Duelist Kingdom format side-event will be held on Sept. 11. For Duelist Kingdom matches, each player bets a number of Star Chips. The victor obtains the Star Chips from the loser. Any duelist that loses all of his/her Star Chips is eliminated from the tournament. Once a duelist has obtained a preset number of Star Chips, they are granted access to the Elimination Rounds in the castle. The standard values are as follows, but may vary according to participation: Begin with 2 Star Chips 10 Chips to enter the castle Maximum of Four Duelists can enter the castle 48 hour time limit to obtain Star Chips Please post in this thread if this event interests you. |

Aoi, you do know we would need at least 20 people to enter this, right? Just in order for this to work... |

=( On-topic: You really think each person who enters the tournament can get 4 duels, minimum, done in 2 days during Saturday and Sunday, when most places hold locals which typically last all day, Church on Sunday (for those that observe), as well as Date Night (Friday and Saturday), AND families going out during the weekend? Secondly, you'd need 20 people to enter in order to end up with 4 people with 10 chips. Not even the main tournament has ever had 20 participants (closest would be the third one with 18 people.) Furthermore, incoming trends seem to indicate that number will probably be even less as time goes on. |

Beneath it is listed the values used for the ACTUAL Duelist Kingdom challenge. I state that these will not necessarily be the values used for this tournament, I just don't want to put down actual numbers until I know how many people would be interested. I needed to list things like that for the benefit of anyone who never saw the Duelist Kingdom season, and has absolutely no clue how the format works. The time limit was retained so people can't simply hold on to their Star Chips and hope others get eliminated first. In all seriousness since we don't have an island to physically traverse it should not take very long to complete anyway. If someone by chance has locals, a date night, church, and their family goes out all on the same weekend, then they could request that it be held at a different time. Otherwise, I would expect people to be online at some point during that time because most likely they already signed up for Epic and have to show up for the first round anyway. I chose the weekend because I figured people would be more active than during the week when they are theoretically supposed to have homework. Also of note is that there is no additional field bonus used. Standard rules are applied to matches. I'm also restricting the card usage to the TCG. Lastly, in part to solve any shortfall in Star Chips in play, I could easily throw Player Killers into this. Easily. So the number of total Star Chips held by participants should not be an issue. sure 0_o i guess? but i wouldn't say you need 10 to enter. i'd say figure out how many people are in the tournament first, then decide how many you need to enter the castle...will there be field power bonus's 0_0? |
