I should introduce myself!

1.If "Book of Moon" is chained to the effect of "Demise, King of Armageddon", is "Demise, King of Armageddon" destroyed by his effect? Does the effect still activate? Explain your reasoning. The effect still activates, of course. The turn player has priority to place their effect first on the chain link, thus it’d look this like Chain Link 1: Demise Chain Link 2: Book of Moon Chain resolves backwards Book of moon flips Demise, Demise destroys everything except himself because of the following part of his text: “…destroy all cards on the field /except this card./” 2. If a "Crystal Beast" monster is tributed for a tribute summon, can you activate its "Crystilization" effect? Explain why or why not. Just by reading the card you can tell it requires destruction of a monster. Tributing does not equal destruction, thus no. 3. Explain the difference between a card effect and a cost. Also, explain how to determine whether a discard or tributing is the result of a card effect, or a the result of a cost. Furthermore, can "Dark World" monster effects activate when discarded via a cost? Do cards like "Sangan" activate as the result of a cost? Costw generally come before a card effect. They are also non-refundable, so if your card gets negated, then you lost out on whatever you paid for the cost. A card effect happens during resolution. By reading the card, you can usually tell whether its a discard or tribute. It’s not discard or tribute unless it says otherwise. With this in mind, Dark World does not resolve as discarded by a cost, since they need to be discarded by a card /effect/. Sangan does not care as to how it triggers so longs as it ends in the grave, so it’s fine being killed by costs, so long as it is on the field. 4. You are running a Crystal Beast deck. You have "Ancient City - Rainbow Ruins" on the field, and four "Crystal Beasts" in your spell and trap zone, as well as a "Crystal Beast" in your monster zone. Your opponent activates a field spell card. Can you negate the effect of the field spell card? Will Rainbow Ruins be destroyed by the field spell? If so, why is Rainbow Ruins destroyed? Explain your reasoning. Yes, you can negate the Field Spell Card. Of course, if you choose not to, it will be destroyed. While there can only be one face-up Field Spell Card on the field at any time, if you negate the one your opponent is trying to play, it would be as if they had never played it, assuming the chain resolves. 5. 5. Can "Rope of Life" be activated if you have no cards in your hand? Is discarding for "Rope of Life" a cost? Explain your reasoning. I tend to believe “reading the card” is great reasoning. “discard your entire hand to activate this card” . When you pay something (in this case your hand) to “activate a card” that’s a cost. Thus, you can’t activate Rope of Life. 6. Monsters: 24 Dark Magician of Chaos Dark Creator x2 Jinzo x2 Darklord Zerato x2 Caius x3 Strike Ninja x2 Armageddon Knight x3 D.D. Scout Plane x3 Treeborn Frog Mystic Tomato x3 Sangan Disk Commander Spell: 12 Allure of Darkness x3 Reinforcement of the Army x2 Smashing Ground Lightning Vortex Premature Burial Heavy Storm D.D. R Different Dimension Reincarnation x2 Monster Reborn Trap: 5 Mirror Force Torrential Tribute Return x2 Crush Card Virus Side Deck: Bottomless Trap Hole x3 Solemn Judgment x3 Deck Devastation x3 D.D. Crow x3 Des Wombat x3 The deck is meant to flow smoothly. Strike Ninja + D.D. Scout Plane is just plain smexy, really. Not only do you get infinite dodge, but infinite tribute fodder. Only two Strike Ninja is necessary, maybe even 1, because essentially, you want him to last there on the field, and not let it die. With triple Armageddon Knight and Mystic Tomato, we can be sure to drop a lot of Darks in the grave to feed the ninja. With so much feeding the grave, Dark Creator is only fitting, as we can reuse some of those useful darks by sacking Scout Planes. Here comes Disk Commander, who is perfect with Dark Creator. His draw power could give us those spells we need, hence why we have Allure of Darkness as well. Return serves as our trump card. When everything is lost, we “return” to our winning position ^^. The Side Board is rather simple: I hate DAD. So I use BTH, which also stops any kind of swarmage deck, such as Zombies and the like. The Solemn Judgments are my “Crap, too much to worry about” cards. I use them when I don’t know what to side in. Deck Devastation owns Gadgets, and weenie decks. Weenies tend to annoy me, so I rather kill them in large numbers ^^;; The Crows are for those graveyard abusing decks (like mine!), and since they are Dark, they only feed Ninja more <3. The wombats are anti-burn. *Note: The Dark Structure Deck was made Legal for the TCG the 8th, so ... yeah. Edited by Arkana Triux, Apr 15 2008, 11:16 PM.
