The sun shone over the outer gardens of the Zenkai Hospital. It was just after lunch on a Monday afternoon, and a couple of Aoi's classmates had decided to make a visit. The two girls got off the #16 bus and began walking toward the main buildings. Beyond the garden was Building D, where they knew Aoi was receiving care. They entered the waiting room, where a young man sat behind a counter. He looked up from the computer screen as he noticed the two visitors. |

Danielle smiled back at the man working at the hospital. She took a step forward to speak to him, introduce themselves, and ask where they might find Aoi's room. However, she remembered that she didn't exactly know Aoi very well herself. Although she had no problems talking to him, it would be better if her companion did the talking this time. She glanced at the white-haired girl and nudged her lightly. "She's your roommate-- do you want to do it?" |

Miss April May June Rachel followed her former... or current... roommate to visit her current... or former... roommate. Yeah, that sentence was in no way horrible. Getting off the bus, Billie followed behind Danielle. Miss Hatcher was still in quite a bit of a daze. Sure, she didn't like the girl, but she didn't exactly wish for something this bad to happen to her. Her previous encounter with Alistair had left her with quite a bit of personal reflection, and a more new found respect for the friendship of others. Stepping in, the cold sterile smell flooded her nose. The pale, pastel paint job of the building's colour pallet seemed to remind her of her former job as a nurse, one which she didn't exactly enjoy. She wordless entered the establishment with Danielle by her side. An expression of worry on her countenance, as the pair reached the counter. "I.." her mouth felt dry as she couldn't quite find the words to say. A part of her was too stricken with worry to even speak. Imagining Aoi being in pain was just too sad for her. Overcome with emotion, she couldn't bring herself to ask for Aoi's hospital room number. By the way she looked, one could easily tell she was not going to speak anytime soon. Danielle waited, and watched Billie make the effort to speak. She commended the effort. But it wasn't exactly going to get the information they needed. After watching Billie struggle for a moment, Danielle decided to come to the rescue. She composed herself, and put her hand on Billie's shoulder. She looked the young man in the eye and spoke for both of them. "We're friends of a patient here. Her name is Aoi Sanders.... Do you mind if we stopped by to visit her?" Danielle knew that they had come during visiting hours. Rina had already given them some information about Aoi's condition, and had told the two when the hospital allowed visitors. However, given the serious nature of Aoi's injuries, they couldn't be certain that Aoi wouldn't be resting when they stopped by. It was always better to ask for help than to demand it, anyway. With her hand still on Billie's shoulder, giving the young girl support, they waited for the young man to direct them to Aoi's room, or at least in the general direction it was in. |

The young man didn't need to look back at the computer screen. "She's in Room 112." He turned his head to the hallway. "It's just around that corner to the left." He quickly glanced back to the screen, but returned his gaze to the two visitors to see if they had any more questions. |

Danielle glanced toward the hallway he had indicated, and then looked back at him. She nodded to him and smiled weakly. "Thanks." She looked to Billie to check in with her. She seemed to be still a little out of it. Danielle slid her hand over to Billie's other shoulder, so that her arm was behind her friend's back. "Do you want to go say hi to her now?" Although that was the reason they had came, Danielle wanted to make sure Billie was ready to pay Aoi a visit. Perhaps simply affirming their purpose would help her friend out. |

Our little white haired friend remained quite a bit out of it. Was this her fault? Could it have been her fault? It always seemed to be that people she didn't like met a rather vicious circumstance... Kouji Yagami, rather off putting as he kissed her, met a grizzly and unexplained death when he fell onto the monorail tracks and was cut into 40 different pieces, and what was left of him was buried on the school grounds, having no family. A cheap wooden box, an unmarked grave. Xenneth Hikari, a happy and upbeat nurse, who just had the misfortune of stealing away Miss Hatcher's position. In one fell swoop, he was assaulted, ghastly blood loss, awakening in a world he did not recognize as much, his memories lost. Billie hoped not too many of those lost memories were years in medical school. Danielle Chirel, attempting to drown the girl, or perhaps to awaken her from a drunken stupor. Billie had assumed the former, until Danielle had landed in the Nurse's Office, confirming the latter. The rest of that whole conflict was all a blur... Jey Nakari, she could still remember her last words to him... "Y-you know what N-namayo!" she slurred angrily, finishing her drink. "You shouldn't... quit your day job or... something?" her voice mellowed out. "And... I love you.. so much." Billie blinked, before recalling that wasn't her famous last words towards Mister Nakari. However, she certainly did recall holding a grudge against him. A traitor to the Ra Yellow dorm, though she silently changed her mind once she herself became an Obelisk. She never quite got to tell him she approved of his Face Heel Turn, and now it was too late. And then there was Aoi... Maybe it was her own guilt, she was only doing this to help herself feel better, not to help Aoi feel better. Butterflies in her stomach nipping at her insides, causing conflicting pains. However, Danielle snapped her out of her distant state. A comforting arm sliding underneath the blanket of white hair, resting comfortably on her left shoulder. Her roommate spoke. Billie shook her head from left to right, a disappointed expression on her face. "I don't think she'd want to see me..." |

Danielle's expression became one of momentary surprise. It faded instantly, replaced by a calm, reassuring smile for Billie. Sensing that she would not change her mind soon, she took a step toward a pair of chairs in the waiting room. Her arm was still around Billie, who came with her. The two sat down. Danielle looked to her right, to keep Billie's face in her view. The other girl stared forward for the moment. Danielle smiled, hoping Billie would relax while she spoke with her. "Why wouldn't she?" "We never really quite got along..." Billie looked Danielle's way. "I could have sworn I mentioned it before..." Danielle recalled both hearing and noticing firsthand Billie and Aoi not getting along. She tried to say something helpful. "I'm sure it won't matter... I mean..." She sighed, trying to find the words she wanted to say. After a moment, she continued, "I'm sure the fact that you came will make things a lot better." Billie looked away from her. Danielle waited another moment for a response. Billie was still silent. "It'll show that you actually care about her, and aren't just always fighting with her." Billie adjusted herself in the chair, turning away from Danielle. "I think you're giving Aoi too little credit." She looked over her shoulder in Dani's direction. "She'll see right through it." The silence lasted for a few seconds. "You're here because you care about her... aren't you?" "... Maybe..." Billie looked away, and readjusted herself in the chair again. Danielle leaned forward, tipping her head so she could still see Billie's face. Her blonde hair dangled carelessly over the armrests of the chair. "Maybe?" "I dunno... I think I may be here just to make myself feel better more than I am to help her..." Danielle smiled innocently at her. "Well, there's nothing wrong with helping yourself feel better while you're at it." She leaned back in her chair, tucking her hair back behind her ear with her left hand into a more ordered state. Her voice became serious. "... It's not like anyone's perfectly fine, after all...." Billie turned toward her suddenly. "But I don't feel like that! A part of me is glad Aoi got hurt!" Danielle turned away, her eyes flashing momentarily in the direction of the young man working at the front desk. She looked down to the ground. "... why do you say that?" Her voice was quiet and controlled. "I already explained it! We never got along. She doesn't wanna see me, and I don't wanna see her." Hearing the confidence in Billie's voice, Danielle repressed her own feelings and faced Billie. She looked into her friend's bright blue eyes, hidden behind her crimson red contact lenses. "Why didn't you get along?" Billie answered readily, "She always had an out for me, since the moment we met! Always so arrogant-- she really need to get off her high whorse!" Danielle let her gaze drop. "Well... yeah." She thought for a minute. Danielle glanced at Billie, who fidgeted again. Danielle spoke again, "I don't think that's going to be much of a problem right now, though." There was a pause, and then Billie replied, "It probably still is. I mean, she's probably faking it for attention or something." Danielle gave her a look, but Billie continued talking. "After all, I got drop kicked in the knee like, 3 days ago and you don't see me crying! I only cried for like, 40 minutes!" "You what?" Danielle leaned over and began inspecting Billie's knees for damage. "I got better." Danielle paused, looked Billie in the eye, but decided at the last moment not to say anything. She sat back in her chair and sighed. "Look... I just thought it would be right if you came to visit Aoi." She took a deep breath and prepared herself for her next words. ".... as.... her roommate, you... should at least check in with her." Danielle glanced away, not even caring what Billie's reaction was. "Danielle! You have no idea what it's like to have such a difficult roommate! One who constantly goes against your wishes, is inconsiderate about other people's personal belongings, and has an overly undeserved sense of superiority!" Danielle did not need to speak. She looked at Billie, with one hand on her hip. Her eyes were narrowed slightly, but they were still gentle. Her expression seemed to ask of Billie "dude, are you for real?"-- and a moment of silence passed once again. ".... Fine. But remember, I'm only here because you asked me to. I'm not going to lie and pretend Aoi and I were friends when everyone in the room knows it's not true." Danielle nodded reluctantly. It was not what she had hoped for, but it was good enough. The two girls stood and walked wordlessly to Room 112. Danielle opened the door. Edited by Wilhelmina Hatcher, Aug 17 2009, 12:53 AM.

"Hey, Emily, you have more visitors." Rosaline sat beside Aoi's bed, looking up to the open door and the two girls on the other side. Aoi lay in the bed, her left arm and the back of her head covered in bandages. A sheet concealed any injuries to the lower half of her body. Aoi rolled her head to see her classmates for herself. No sign of any recognition registered on her face. Rose stood up and extended a hand to the two. "I'm Rose." |

Before she could complain more, Danielle had opened up the door. "Let's just get this over with." she muttered, quitely so only Danielle would hear her. To her surprise, Aoi was not alone in this room. In one quick moment, an unfamiliar voice belonging to an unfamiliar girl called out to the pair. "uhh... the name's Wilhelmina. Call me Billie." she replied curtly. "I'm her..." she paused, to think of the word. "roommate, I guess." She looked down at Rose's outstretched hand before remembering to grab firmly and shake. Awkwarly however, she had clutched her hand with her right and left, shaing Rose's single hand with two of them. I assume Danielle introduce herself as well right around this time, or immediately after Billie. The pink haired girl's hands were rather soft, she noted, before letting go. "And you are Owwie's... sister?" our white haired antagonist questioned. She wasn't wearing any typical hospital attire, so she couldn't be a nurse or a doctor or something. Also, Aoi and this "Rose" girl were of similar height, and similar frame. Not to mention there blue eyes and unnatural looking hair. It only seemed logical, to Billie at least, that a friend or family member would be here with Aoi. And Aoi had no friends so... Edited by Wilhelmina Hatcher, Aug 17 2009, 06:17 PM.
