--NEW!-- DEBATE DATES have CHANGED (See bottom of post) Beginning August 3rd, 2009 Month 3 - Day 13's (Wednesday's) Afternoon Scenario: Within the first couple of days of the academy field trip, Silvershine City has been the host to a lot of problems that have arisen for various students, current, former, and soon-to-be, alike. Ranging from trouble with friends, to troubles with the world, to run-ins with the law, and life-threatening accidents, Crimson Wind sure has a lot on its plate. With incidents like these happening in such a short period of time, it won't be too long before they are all traced back to the academy.... But as far as some students are aware, everything is hunky-dory, here, at 4 in the afternoon. Besides, it's Wednesday, now, not Sunday. Three days have gone by, and conveniently, nothing has yet gone awry.... And despite it being pretty windy outside, the sun is shining for all to see as it tries to take away your worries; your frustrations; your problems, so that everyone can enjoy what this day has in store.
((If I've forgotten anything, let me know, A.S.A.P. -- Staff, feel free to add to the above. [is moderately affected by: Distractions of Created Wrestler creations <__< ])) Current Setting's End Date: August 17th, 2009 (End Date is debatable until August 15th) (Phase Week begins on the IRL Wednesday of the last week of the Current Setting.) Next Setting: Month 3 - Day 13 - Evening Next Setting's Weather: "Extremely windy" (Editable by Danielle Chirel) (Next Setting is debatable until August 15th) Edited by Rina Kasakura, Aug 12 2009, 07:11 PM.

I thought it was spelled... I can't spell it, but it's really French. Eh, as of right now, I have no problem with time ending the 17th, however as I've expressed before, it's really rather... idiotic to have it be undebatable after a certain length of IRL time, ESPECIALLY if the debate period is so long before it comes into effect (five days). If anything, make it undebatable the day before, not half a week before. |

I think one day before is better. We might have some last second RPs for more then one or two active characters and need to extend it a few more days. |

The main reasons I didn't do that is because: 1) I didn't even think of doing it that close 2) because of the suddenness of the / a potential change. It gives people several days to notice the changes to the schedule in the announcement thread or the portal, if there are any, and prepare for them with whatever threads they're in, --- like stretching it out to continue it from Afternoon to Evening, or giving time to condense it if it's decided upon to go to the next day, instead, when it was originally scheduled to continue to the Evening. 3) IIRC (or not), no one discussed about it when I brought it up it in the other related topic. [does not include "there shouldn't be a deadline"] I'm not really considering "last-minute" RPs that much, unless the people involved knew that RP would be coming and would happen late. In that case, they can still bring it up ahead of time. For the spontaneous ones who wanna cram one in at the end, that can be done in CWA Roleplay, or it can be scheduled for another time, setting, and/or scenario. BUT you guys make a good point - In retrospect, Tuesday's too soon. As I said before, as long as the last day of debate is not the last day of the setting, I can accept it (or, at least, I'll try it out) - gives some time (albeit, a day...) for people to notice the sudden change (if there is any). IRL Thursday, Friday, or Saturday being the last debatable day makes more sense than Tuesday.... By then, everyone should well~ know how things will likely play out, and can still (probably) adapt to the changes (moreso with earlier days - more people and/or days to notice and do something about it). So yeah, I can do that - [shrug] worth a shot. ...BUT, everyone needs to remember it's a debate (...or really more of a group request thing...? [shrugs]). Just saying "I / the day needs another week" won't get the job done, people, especially if that shows up on the last day or two. Explain yourselves and bring it up well in advance, as sometimes, discussions take days. .... So, everyone, keeping all that in mind, which do you guys wanna go with? Which Will Be the Last Day of Debates -Thursday? -Friday? -Saturday? (Side Note: I'd also prefer not to move IRL days ahead by only a few days [prefers the 1-week additions]. We can do the several-day thing; I'd just prefer not to.... ...Sounds... messy, figuratively.) Also! Additional Thought: [wonders if a minimum # of people should be set in order to consider the change requests.... .... ...Maybe 4 or 6 (<-- minimum requirement of 2 or 3 threads worth of people, excluding solos [so that a lone thread doesn't change around everyone's schedule... unless it has {#} people in it, or is an important major plot thread)? Maybe more? Not needed / doesn't matter?] |

I disagree. If there is a sudden change, people will usually take notice if they go into the chat and notice a lot of arguing. The only people who are really harmed are those that went to sleep early, and... no offense, but they're typically not as active anyway. <_< If there are a good number that would be inconvenienced with us going into overtime, we should make it into a phase week. (except... you know... not lasting a week.) As for Thursday, Friday, Saturday, etc, I don't have a calander in front of me, so I don't know exactly when and where everything is. |

What if there isn't any arguing (ie. the chat is the same ol' same-ol') / what if they were not around for the arguing when they sign in? @only people harmed: - or those who, for whatever reason, can't/won't spend much time on the site that day (busy with other general stuff/going to holiday dinner/going to event/doctor/etc. - yeah, there's laziness, I guess, but the others are also possible, and more considerable) - or those who still planned on using an Afternoon-to-Evening schedule, but can't because of a changed next setting (hench the "condense" part)
There's always a Phase Week on the last week. It's just that I said that I wouldn't always be saying that anymore (can't recall why.... It was probably more work than it was worth at the time)... but I guess I should put it at the bottom with the rest of that stuff...[consideration for newer members 'n all]. As for it being a week long, for the Settings that are 2+ weeks, I think a week of the "Phase
.... [blinks] ...???? I don't know what you'd need a calender for (the date numbers aren't important, here, but... if I understood them correctly: Last Day of Debates - Thursday was brought up by Danielle (unless she was talking about Friday and I misunderstood) -Saturday was the one you brought up in your above first post - And Friday, I just threw in 'cause it sounded like a day people would remember (unless Danielle was the one who mentioned it) |

Friday should be the last day of debates. I'm one of those people who plans lengths for scenes and I don't want a scene timed to expire and then find out the day before the switch in setting that we aren't switching yet. Everybody should know by Friday if their threads are going to run long. |
