Angel of Denial
|
A new day had begun, fact that became apparent a the almighty sun had already risen from its resting place in the shadows in order to prostrate its glory and embrace the world below with its loving warmth. It was still a bit dark perhaps, surely nowhere past 7:00AM, but it had already been several minutes since the street lights had ceased to manifest their golden glow; clearly the gloomy night had found its defeat, now preparing for the revenge within 12 hours time. The flight had arrived only the previous night, meaning that work had begun almost as soon as possible as clearly it would not be a good idea to attempt such tasks at night with such little information at hand. The woman had never been to this city before and thus it proved to be a rather problematic task to guide her around this thriving metropolis. Silvershine, despite the gimmicky name, seemed to actually live up to its title - It stood out amongst many other lands due to its economical success; disease far from contagious as many countries seemed to be experiencing issues in said department. This Woman, Michelle, wasn't exactly fond of these foreign places as there would be many barrier to hinder her mission; there was also a time limit to it, a not very generous one, thus it had been decided to handle everything as soon as possible. Her sister had been left behind at their hotel room as she seemed to be sound asleep when Michelle had decided to commence, yet she still had the courtesy of leaving a note to explain her absence. Miss Xiun had no expectations of being to finish everything in a single go, and plans for many regroupings at the hotel were sure to develop in the near future. The large building known as the Silvershine Police Station now stood behind the lady, she had just recently left the building upon receiving one of the most minimal briefings in history which made her think she was entirely on her own; luckily she had at least been granted special authority for executing police duties as if she was one of them, a trait which could surely help in the future. Now, carrying armed with a makeshift police badge, a nice repertoire of skills and considerable determination, she was headed to her destiny. Michelle's approach for the mission would first be the most simple one: To find and interrogate the target, this title which would currently be granted to some duelist youth from the "Crimson Wind Academy", a type of university focused on the arts and science of the Duel Monsters card game. The campus for the school was usually very difficult to access, but this time the students had come to her, sort off. The thought of other students being around put a smile to her face, clearly there had to be a classmate from whom info could be obtained if plan A were to fail (Which was very likely); hopefully one of them would know something. She was heading to the famous "Silvershine Hotel and Resort", a luxurious hotel that had proved to be one of the most famous touristic spots in the city, clearly an institution o much higher quality than the one she was staying at herself. A large number of students from the academy had been brought to stay at such luxurious place, which brought the incognita of whether the CWA actually had paid for all of it (Or the students had to pay something...); it was not an important matter, but still remained a riddle to bug her every once in a while. She did not even know which groups had attended this "Field trip" or just a select few, but then again, only the fact that her target had been included was enough reason. A rather unnecessary expression of worry spread through the young woman's pale face as she continued her walk through the now slightly empty sidewalks. Her hands rose up to her chin as to adopt a rather generic posture of thinking. As seconds passed, more and more people had began to gather around the streets, eventually ascending to a considerable density which only made things more troublesome, it was no more than an annoyance, but still something she wasn't prepared to cope with... It really made one think about how populated this city was; it was the only reason to explain the zombified hordes of working men and women marching in unison across the wide sidewalks. Michelle just tried her best to remember the directions she had been instructed to follow... But it seemed as if she was going to require some external support.
