Blue-Eyed Girl of Destiny
|
Kisa remained strong as she walked away from her rude opponent.....but she knew it would not be a lasting strength. She immediately made he way to her room on the 4th floor of the hotel they had been staying at, and closed her door, locking it behind her. As soon as she did, she slid to the floor, her back against the door, as if trying to brace it from being opened. That was when the tears began to fall. She'd lost her duel......it was something she was not exactly used to doing. She'd won every duel she'd ever had since she came to the Academy.....and now that streak was destroyed. She had a rather large ego to go with her winning streak, and today, that had been quickly deflated. It hurt......it really did. And so, the tears poured on.....though she herself remained silent, still showing she had some strength and pride left in her. |

Change is a funny thing...
|
Lumis' Room was on the first floor. The girls' rooms were on the 3rd and 4th floors. It had taken him a bit of time, but he'd hacked into the Hotel System and figured out just whose room was whose. And he'd found the room he needed to find. But, clearly, he couldn't use the front door of the room. And, chances are, if he was caught, he'd be sent back to the Academy. But these times were desperate times. Even though he'd received that message on his PDA only hours earlier, after his duel with Draco...
It was the exact opposite of that now. But he wouldn't let that stop him from seeing the person who was the most important to him. For some reason, he was actually tall enough to climb from balcony to balcony, climbing his way up with a little improvised rope from vines outside. It was difficult, but 4 floors wasn't much when you got a resting period every 5 minutes. When he'd thought that he reached what he hoped was the right balcony, he'd knocked on the window lightly, hoping to the great heavens that Kisa would be the one answering, if anyone at all. |

She had closed her eyes and rested her head against the door.......that was when she heard a rap at the windows at the other end of the room. Someone was at her balcony doors......."Who is it?" she asked softly. She never heard a reply, but instead got another rap on the glass. She figured that she had not spoken loud enough, and sighed as she got up. Who in God's name would be bothering her right now? More importantly....who even knew she was here right now? she just got here! She slowly opened the door......and gasped as the love of her life stood in her vision. "L-Lumis!" She suddenly felt very embarrassed, very aware of the tears and their stains that remained on her cheeks. "What......what are you doing here? how did you find me?" |

His eyes showed joy when he'd found that she actually was the one who answered the knocking. However, Lumis felt the pang of a wounded heart as he'd seen Kisa's tear-stained face. Part of him thought that he should have left, but that was a small minority of him, as the rest of him wanted so badly to comfort her. He'd smiled warmly at her, and his eyes looked into hers, as if displaying his full-hearted support for her. He'd pressed his hand against the glass and closed his eyes, his mouth beginning to move as he'd explained himself. "I had to hack into the Hotel System with my PDA. But you know me. As scientific as I am, it wasn't too hard." He'd pressed his forehead against the glass as he'd looked at her, his eyes filling with worry now as is palm and fingers pressed against the glass. He wanted so much to hold her in his arms right now that it was almost painful. His hair blew in the wind as well, as he'd realized just how cold it was out here during the night, even with the warm air from the ocean nearby. He'd shivered a bit as he'd said while chuckling, "Might I come in?" |

Kisa nodded slowly and opened the door, allowing him access into her room. She moved and sat on her bed and watched him. "What brings you here, stranger?" She asked softly, trying to sound as if nothing were wrong. ((Sorry the reply is so short....)) |

Lumis took a seat next to her and held his hand in hers. He could still feel the pang from seeing her crying face under the moonlight. He'd moved his lips to kiss her cheek, wiping a tear away as he'd used his other hand to move a lock of her hair behind her ear. Whispering in her ear comfortingly and with a low tone, he'd squeezed her hand a little tighter, as if trying to show her that he was here, both physically and mentally. "What's wrong, Kisa? You can tell me, you know..." His hand continued to stroke her hair softly and with as much affection as he could possibly show her. His eyes still showed his worry, since those were actually his emotions. It was a little surprising how much it hurt to see her like this. And how enraged he'd felt. Not only had he been demoted, but some creep was being a jerk to his girlfriend. There was no way that Lumis wasn't angry. However, for her sake, he'd controlled it. For now, all he could do was be her support. |

The feel of his hand grasping hers......his lips against her cheek......suddenly all her strength faded.....because now she knew he could be strong for her....she no longer needed to be strong for herself right now. As this realization hit her, she seemed to collapse in his arms and she started to cry even more. "I lost.......i lost horribly......" she didn't care how stupid she sounded, or how immature it might have been. She was with him.....and now she could truly let herself loose. "And on top of that......my opponent was very rude.....i tried to keep my cool, i really did....but he was demeaning and.....and....." she looked down at the floor and lost all words. There was nothing more she could say....but she was sure he knew exactly what was going on. A girl of her status in the Academy would certainly be upset after her first loss.....right? it was perfectly normal to be upset.....but this upset? she really didn't know what he would think of her now, seeing her this way. |

"Shh... Shh... It's alright... You don't need to worry about him any more... I know you. You're a strong, beautiful, proud duelist. Don't let some jerk take that away from you. Besides, that's why I'm here now..." As he'd said that, he'd pulled her closer to him, bringing her into a warm embrace. All of these things he heard continued to prick into his heart as he tried to think of how to comfort her. Especially on top of all of the things that he should have been worried about. No. Those didn't matter anymore. All that mattered was that the person precious to him was hurt, and he had to see her smile again. At least, if not her smile, then he wanted the tears to stop. Knowing full well that she had been a very proud duelist, though... the tears wouldn't be stopping anytime soon, unless he could do something about it. "It's alright, Kisa... I'm here for you... I always will be..." |

She just hook her head and buried her face into his shoulder. She felt so weak, so vulnerable. So this was what most of her opponents probably felt after dueling her. It wasn't the greatest feeling in the world......was this what every duelist felt like on their first major loss? It took several minutes before she finally calmed down enough to stop crying. She looked up at him and wrapped her arms around his waist. At this point, she didn't know what to say, so she just rested her head on his shoulder silently. The tears were drying and her breathing was becoming stronger and more steady. She realized she hadn't taken off her duel disk yet, and so she parted her body from Lumis's and removed the disk from her arm, setting it aside. She stood up and turned to look at Lumis with soft eyes. ".....thank you." |

Lumis stood up with her and smiled warmly and invitingly. Hugging her close once again, he'd pulled her close and made sure to keep her in his arms, not wanting to let go. It was something that had comforted him, too. That, even in his state, he could help someone. Especially if it was Kisa. He'd actually been surprised that he could help someone like her. She just seemed the type to be... depended on. Or independent, even. But it was times like this that surprised him a little. This was his girlfriend, though. She was allowed to have moments where she could depend on him. "You don't need to thank me. Just let me be here with you." Lumis kissed her forehead lightly and used one of his hands to push a lock of her hair out of the way, following it up with a light stroke of the rest of her hair. He'd continued to smile at her, hoping that it would comfort her further, even in the slightest bit. |
