Remembering to get something to eat, Akane took the stairs down to the dining room to get herself a plate-ful of dinner. Interestingly enough, she brought along one of her lighter textbooks - an attempt to analyze and understand a problem that had been bothering her for some time. What made the dining part so convenient was the fact that it is self-served, so late arrivals wouldn't be left out of dinnertime, unless they were really late, to the point when everything would be cleared away.... Withholding the informtion of her dinner because I don't want to think about it right now, Akane took a seat at the long, rectangular table, positioned at the center of the side closest to the entrance/exit. Only a handful of other students were in the room with her at this time, as some had come to eat and had already finished, or snuck their food away to their respective rooms. |

The automatic doors slid open as Douken came in, the Test Tiger phushie resting on his back still as he tried to put on an Osiris Red blazer. Before he got in, he encountered another teacher who congratulated him on the advancement and gave him the blazer to try on to make sure the size was right. However, seeing the tiger getting in the way, he placed it onto of a nearby table, the paw covering the book of the nearby Osiris. Once he was out of his hands, he was able to get it on. "That's better...," he said, seeing it fit right. He removed his glasses a bit before using it to clean the lenses as the transitions faded away. When he placed them on, his stomached growled. "It must be dinner time," he laughed. |

With the Test Tiger's stuffed paw on her textbook, Akane was not amused. But that thought subsided for but a short while, seeing the familiar student standing at her right side. The Osiris amazon glared at him, lowering her fork, prior. "Hey, your tiger's on my textbook," she began, mildly annoyed that he hadn't noticed that fact already. Looking him over, she noticed something else: something was different about him. "And another thing:" she turned her head away from her dinner, towards the boy in red clothing from what I recall, you're supposed to be a Sebek student. ...What are you doing with an Osiris Red jacket?" Her first thought was that he stole it from someone. Why he'd go to all that trouble just to look like an Osiris, though, she couldn't figure out.... |

"Sorry about that," he chuckled, moving the paw out of the way. "And why I have an Osiris jacket is because I am now an osiris. I met with Miss Kim earlier today and she told me i got promoted..." He got a look of who it was talking, and then realized, "Aren't you Akane?" He got a look at the textbook. "You must be her. You are the only person that I could think of who would bring ther textbooks onto a vacation, a time to relax from studying... Let me guess, you never left your room..." |

Her eye twitced, knowing exactly what Douken was getting at. "! Excuse me...? Of course I have...! Several times, I'll have you know...!" Akane wasn't lying, but it didn't help her case, much. "Studying non-stop isn't good for one's health. ...If I feel like it, I'll go tomorrow. I have a whole week to enjoy this trip. How I do so is none of your concern...!" Akane returned to her meal, disgruntled. |

"You're right, it isn't good for your health. Then why did you bring textbooks to the dinner table? You make it seem like there will be a test next time we come back," he stated calmly, unlike her outburst. He headed off, leaving the tiger there to say he was coming back as he got himself some dinner and sat across from her with his food. "Why must you study so much? What are you aiming for?" He took a bite of what he had before continuing, "If you are aiming for something, then don't expect to get it from a book. There are some things that a book cannot teach you..." |

She sighed, calming herself. "I'm not trying to learn the secrets of the world, here," she overexaggerated, calmly. ".... While most of you were at the amusement park, there were a few problems in this book that I couldn't figure out at the time. ...I was hoping either Professor Kim, Swebb or Tomespell stayed behind, even though I knew it wasn't likely. ...Well, I was able to figure some of those problems out, myself, as time went by, but the rest I still don't understand." She explained, skipping over a certain detail. "And with dinner being served, aside from being hungry, myself, I should run into a teacher, here, at some point. That's the only reason I brought the book with me. If I don't see one by the time I finish, I'll contact them on my PDA." |

Douken sighed, pushing his glasses up and pinching his nose where the tips of his eyes were. "Why do you need to worry about problems Akane? We are not in school! We do not have homework to worry about! Seeing how you act in class, you wouldn't have any work to do since you work on them during lunch!" He let off another sigh when she mentioned seeing the teachers here. "I saw Miss Kim earlier today. She told me that even they are taking time to relax. It gives them a break from worrying about making study plans or grading papers. As far as I see, you are the only one here who still has their nose in their books." Since she didn't answer his question, he repeated, "What do you have to gain from this? What is so important to be doing homework on a vacation?" |

As Douken spoke, she closed her eyes, listening, but not wanting to hear it. And with the repetition of questions that she had tried to avoid, she nearly snapped at him... but instead...: ".... What you say isn't going to change anything.... I have my reasons... and I'd like to believe that you can respectfully accept that...." At this point, she wasn't in the mood to argue over her own study habits. She had only two objectives: eating dinner and finding a professor. In regards to the former, she grabbed a forkful, lifting it up, slighlty. "I congratulate you on your promotion to Osiris Red, by the way." The raven haired girl took a bite of her food, silencing her for a short while. |

"Sorry," he said, taking as bite of his food. "There are just some people i know who always kept their noses in the books and studying whether it was by force from parents or trying to be the best in school. They knocked out the social world completely. It is nearly impossible for them to have a social life since all they have in their mind is their studies. I remember one kid tried to become class president, but all he did was brag on how much smarter he was to everyone else in an odd form and was never elected. They just saw him as a nobody since no one knew him because he was always in the books..." He tok another bite before adding, "Sorry for the rant. I just think maybe you should at least take this time to relax. It may do you some good... And thank you..." The last part was obviously her congratulating him on the promotion. |
