War Crazy Yugioh Villain Wannabe
|
:|Character Information|:. Name: Kikai, Maki Age: 15 Dorm: N/A Grade/Year: 1st Gender: Male Race: Caucasian, French/German descent. Height: 5'9" Weight: 127 lbs. Eye Color: Pale Blue Hair Color: Jet Black Personality: Maki is a guy who normally likes to keep to himself when the people around him are talking about things completely irrelevant to his interests. However, when someone brings up dueling, weapons, or military machines of any kind, he likes to step into the conversation and talk and can usually be quite talkative on the subject. In terms of his general personality, he's usually rather unhappy. He claims that this is because it's too "peaceful" for him to be truly happy and that he can only be happy during conflict. Defining Characteristics: He has rings around his eyes, probably from lack of sleep. Also, his right arm is completely mechanical, with his duel disk attached to it through a series of wires. Physical Appearance: Maki stands at a height of 5'9. His black hair is normally drooped over around his eyes in a somewhat messy manner, as if to appear to be hiding his face. His facial features are somewhat boyish in appearance, but take on his german side moreso than his french side. He is rather slender in appearance, wearing his academy blazer in pristine form while also donning a pair of boots. Known Relatives: Uncle Lafayette, Aunt Antoinette, Cousin Marcel (Mother's relatives), Uncle Messer, Aunt Gretchen Biography: A few months after Maki's mother became pregnant, his father, a marine lieutennant, had died in combat during a war. A few months after he was born, his mother, an army medical officer, was also killed in military combat. Because of both of these losses and not naming any godparents, both his father's brother Lafayette and his mother's brother Messer were constantly fighting over who would raise the child. His mother was of French origin and, because of this, Lafayette, Maki's uncle, wished for Maki to learn the fine arts and become a great artist someday. His father was of German origin and, because of this, Messer, Maki's other uncle, wished for Maki to become an automobile engineer and carry on the family business that way. Due to these dueling points of view, Maki was always surrounded by bitter rivalries and violent arguments. Lafayette taught him how to sketch, to paint, and how to cook. Messer taught him about the various mechanics that go into automobiles and such. One day, while at Lafayette's House, Maki thought of playing with a cannon, an genuine antique from the days of Napoleon Bonaparte. He and Marcel thought it might be fun to try and repair it. Using the knowledge he had from Messer, he succeeded. However, as he was cleaning the inside of the barrel, his younger cousin lit the fuse. Just as Maki was about to pull his arm out, the cannon fired, taking off his arm completely. Immediately after, he was taken to intensive care at the local hospital and was in the operating room for a significantly long amount of time. By the time they were finished, the doctors said that he would survive. After days of bickering at each other on whose fault it was, both Antoinette and Gretchen agreed to compromise by purchasing a prosthetic arm for the boy. After fighting with how much more they wanted to spend on the arm, they settled on a custom-made prosthetic made of titanium that had a duel disk built in. The arm was powered by a high grade lithium battery that would keep the arm functioning for over 100 years. Several months after that day, Maki decided to take up dueling as what he wanted to do. Neither of his uncles would dare argue this due to the amount of blame they both felt, so they supported Maki with everything he would need to become a great duelist, including a deck of cards that he liked. He also made sure his deck had a balance of Machinations in tribute to Messer, and mythical beings found in artworks in tribute to Lafayette. Finally, they both sent him to Duel Academy where he would take the entrance examinations and learn to be a great duelist. I'm fairly certain none of our characters can be related to any actual characters on the show.
Other then the fact that it's mechanical and can become a duel disk, does the arm do anything else at all? (Super strength, odd plasma gun cannon, or any other kind of oddities?) |

It's... umm... made of metal...? But seriously. Think Rex Goodwin's arm from 5Ds. It's really really durable and has a duel disk, but otherwise ordinary. Also, I can modify the history and relatives. I just thought the Crowler/Bonaparte relatives would be amusing for a backstory. |

Can't say I've seen 5Ds. Sorry. But if it's "otherwise ordinary", I guess it's fine, as long as it currently had no upgrades and whatnot.
Please do. |

"No, wait. My arm enables me to fire an anti-matter cannon capable of splitting the universe asunder!" But seriously, for an RP of an anime that's supposed to leave fighting to a card game, I think that weapons and the like would be kinda ridiculous. Also, I fixed relatives and history as per your request. Edited by Maki Kikai, Jun 25 2009, 03:32 PM.

German Uncle! French Uncle! Err... I guess it's fine, though considering how important his uncles seem to be, might be nice to give 'em names... *Begrudgingly approves* |
