[Day 9 - Morning]

It was a late morning for the Dark Duo.

Draco was the first to rise from his luxurious bed. The journey to Silvershine City had been somewhat unpleasant as his previous adventures there held some painful moments for the man in black. Not to mention the journey was painfully long, even longer than last time as the teachers were control freaks who triple checked that everyone was in their assigned groups before moving from one transport to the next. His meal on the ferry had not been as good as last time either, only been given a sandwich to devour as opposed to his fish and chips like last time. His arm was feeling a lot better but he had not dueled anyone during the two months prior to the field trip. He had tested out his Duel Disk a little to check what improvements had been added to the device and ensuring the scanner systems worked efficiently so that there would be no nasty surprises for when he used his new machinery in an actual duel. Everything seemed to be in order though and with his right arm more or less fully healed, Draco would be seeking an opponent to duel sometime in the near distant future. Sometimes, he could still feel the occasional throb of anguish from the arm but it was a pain which could be suppressed by the mind with relative ease. There was no need for any bandages on the wound either, as the blood had clotted sufficiently, closing up the wound and preventing further blood loss.

"We will meet again."

Z's words echoed through the back of the Ra's mind.

We're only here for three days and he plans on ruining this field trip for me. I better try and enjoy myself while I can, I suppose.

Slipping out of his bed, Draco entered the bathroom and cleaned himself up before returning to the room in his usual black attire consisting of black trousers, with a dark shirt along with a black vest and trench coat. The room was decorated with blood red curtains with a similar red plastering applied to the walls of the room. There were two picture frames on the walls. One consisted of a bowl of fruit and the other held a background scene of a farm with a tumbleweed rolling along the pathway in the foreground. There was a highly polished desk with a pair of matching chairs along with a small T.V for watching porn movies. There was also a snacks fridge but all of the contents within cost money. Each day, the cleaners would leave four bottles of water for the Dark Duo. Two would be still water while the remaining two would be sparkling water. A small assortment of shortbread biscuits would also be left during the cleaning process. His roommate was still asleep sucking his thumb and didn't respond to Draco's call.

"Oh well, can't be helped. I'm really hungry and at this rate I am going to miss breakfast, the most important meal of the day."

Gouki had his roommate's contact details so the two could easily communicate if necessary. Just as he was about to leave the room, a buzzing sound resonated from one of the many compartments in Draco's haxback pack. Slightly irritated by the inconvenience this had caused, Draco reluctantly drew out his PDA from one of the easy to reach compartments while the bag was behind his back. He plugged his headphones in so he could listen to the device. Apparently Swebb had sent a mass E-mail to the students with a map of the city.

Draco laughed.

He had no need for such a map even if he could read it. He knew the city almost like the back of his palm . . . which isn't exactly saying much given Draco's lack of sight. OK let's try that again. He knows the city well enough to navigate himself to wherever he wants to go. Professor Swebb was the most infuriating teacher of the whole lot. With her upper-class British accent, she had practically interrogated Draco when he had returned from his week away from the island, about his endeavours in the city. This was the opportunity where Draco could have said that Z had taken him as a hostage against his own will.

But what was the point?

It was unlikely anyone would believe that story anyway, he didn't even tell his own roommate about the whole truth of his disappearance. So he just went along with it all and informed the staff about his one week tour of the city and whatnot. He was glad his assigned teacher was Professor Kenji. He was a laid back professor and his lessons were easy going for the most part too.

Draco had to inform the city police in advance about his katana. It was a huge pain in the backside, having to send off several documents and make time consuming phone calls but in the end, things worked out. The police authorities know about his weapon and how he would be carrying it while on his city visit. If Z tried anything, Draco would at least have the means to defend himself to his very best abilities. His skills with a blade didn't quite match one Nanayo Shingetsu, but they were quite sufficient to rip the flesh of many opponents, should it come down to it. Right now, the sword was within its sheath, secured to its master's back via his Karate Black belt.

Withdrawing the PDA back into the compartment, he exited his room and closed the door softly.

Gouki opened his red colored eyes after waking up from his sleep. After stretching his arms and legs, the demon pushed the bed sheets out of the way so that he can get off the bed he was sleeping on. One of the first things the Ra Yellow student noticed was the absence of his blind roommate. The turbo demon walked over to his bag of clothes to pull out what the black t-shirt and pants that he desired to wear for the day. After 10 minutes of showering, brushing, and putting clothes on in the bathroom, Gouki walked out of restroom.

He reached for his deck box and clipped it to the side of his pants and also grabbed his PDA. It would seem boring for the red-eyed duelist to travel the city by himself, so he decided to find out where did Draco went off to. Gouki remembered the story that Draco told him about his date with Z and one of his lackeys. With the knowledge that his blind roommate received a sneak peek at the city before the field trip, it can be concluded that Draco must have had the city in his head like a map if he went alone. Curious to where he could have gone, the demon used his PDA to send a voice message to his roommate.

From: Gouki Shinkou

Where the hell did you walk off to? Do you have a death wish for going alone in a city where you can get ran over by a car? Anyway tell me your location so that we can meet up. I got nothing better to do at the moment.

The turbo demon sends the message over to his blind roommate while he waits for a response.

A ringing can be heard from Gouki’s PDA before he checked it to find out his roommate has replied.

From: Draco Black

I am in Kaiba Land, heading off to the Dueling Arenas to find some opponents to battle against. I hope you’re not starving to death in your room. You will have to grab something to eat at the Theme Park as the Hotel’s restaurant has finished serving Breakfast. If you have nothing better to do, why don’t you just dance outside in the streets while naked?

The reply from Draco made the demon show a smirk at the humorous comment that was left. Perhaps the red-eyed duelist was influencing the blind duelist with his rude nature. He recorded another voice message to send to Draco and clicked send.

From: Gouki Shinkou

You don’t have to worry about me, I just woke up about 15 minutes ago so I am not starving like a homeless person that is probably around the corner from where you are. Also if I were to dance outside in the street naked, I think I would send the whole area to your blind club. Anyways, I will be there soon so make sure not to fall off from any buildings or get hit by a bus.

It was time for Gouki to leave the hotel and head over to the Kaiba Land theme park to meet up with his roommate. After equipping his Dark Armed duelist to his wrist, he walked towards the door and twists the doorknob to walk through. After walking out of the room, he shuts the door closed.

[From Que the Questioning.]

[Day 13 - Midnight]

Fortunately the Dark Duo was able to return to their room without being caught by any members of the Academy staff. Drakow had sent a text message on his PDA to Harima vaguely explaining that he would be late due to an unexpected turn of situations and that there was nothing to be alarmed about.

Approaching the door, Drakow inserted the card key or whatever device that was required to open the door and after a small clicking noise, the door swung open for the Dark Duo. He entered the room and placed his back pack on the floor, beside the wooden desk and REMOVED HIS SHOES Glares at Rina. His sword was underneath his bed but even so, things could become unnecessarily complicated should the detective realize this.

He reached into a folder inside one of the desk draws and pulled out his cheque book. Taking a pen from the desk he wrote down the necessary information on the cheque and signed it.

"The cheque is on the table Gouki."

By the time he had finished writing the cheque, the detective had entered the room. Drakow decided he would have a lie down on his bed, forfeiting the desk chair for the detective. Gouki would probably sit down on his bed or on the corner chair. He stretched his body while he was lying on the bed to ease his muscles.

He was ready to hear his roommate's story.

The red-eyed demon walked through the door after it was opened by his roommate. He held on the back of his left shoe with his right to lift his feet from the left shoe. After this, he threw the shoe off with his foot to make it land in a spot where the shoes will not be in the way. Gouki repeated this method to get the right shoe off of his foot.

Shortly after, Draco wrote up the check that was promised to get Gouki to agree to the interrogation. He grabbed the check after it was finished and placed it in his pocket. The black-haired demon took a seat on top of his bed which was conveniently right in front of the desk chair that would be used for the detective. He waited for the investigator to take a seat for the questioning to begin.

The darkness of the night had quickly shrouded the skies, commanding the trio(standing on a random street) to find shelter somewhere else lestthey be exposed to the dangers brought upon by the penumbral skies. The result would be all 3 of them making their way into the hotel where Draco & Gouki resided, where they would be more comfortable and also in private, position that would also be very helpful for the "Interrogation" that was about to take place. Michelle at that point had a hard time believing Gouki acceded to speak in exchange for money, and that the other boy had agreed to provide it... If he really was a murderer, said amount would be useless(There's no bail for dead people).

Midnight came, bringing with it the classic quick beep from Michelle's watch as t warn her of the hour... It is now that she realized it had become quite late; she had been on the job for almost the entire day, all while leaving her little sister behind(Without major warning), maybe it was time to call her - but it was actually time for work, hopefully all of this would end before long.

Draco rushed into the room, and only a few seconds later would Gouki and herself join him there. Upon passing through the open door she could gaze around the small and rather average room(Common for a road trip) but failed to worry about the details. She took a few steps into the rooms and realized they had taken their shoes off, and being the nice girl she was, she did the same as to notdisrespect them: Michelle bent down and picked up her elegant shoewear gently with one hand and placed them aside, next to the door; she then proceeded to walk across the carpeted floor into a desk chair that rested just about a feet in front of Gouki's current position(She assumed that to be her spot). Approaching the chair from the side and carefully set her body upon the cushioned surface over the flat part of the chair before straightening her posture so that she would be facing the boy. After crossing her legs to find a comfortable position, Michelle was now ready to begin listening.

"Sooo Gouki-kun~ There's a looot to ask ^^ But I guess we can listen to your version of the story first! mind you it's also the only version << Ehe~ But yeah, you should begin now"

She nodded after her rather obvious choice of words and just satthere quietly glancing directly at Gouki with interest(Much liek a child stare) very very intently, almost without blinking, almost as if trying to make Gouki feel uncomfortable... Up to this moment Michelle didn't look serious enough for the job she was trying to complete.

Gouki started thinking back to the event where that thief broke into his house during the night. It was like a scene from hell to the black-haired demon. It could be remembered as clear as day. He wanted to avoid telling the story to anyone as it would bring up the terrible memories and possibly unwanted reactions from others. However, it was time for the tale to be told.

“On that night, I was preparing my things before going on the boat ride to Duel Academy. My ambition is to be in the pro circuit just like my father, and Duel Academy was the step that would take me closer to that objective. However on that very night, everything changed. A burglar broke into my house armed with a machete. My defenseless parents were powerless to prevent their fate. I watched the whole thing unfold before my very eyes! The blood flying everywhere as they were brutally stabbed to death! I could not do anything to prevent them from that madman! MY MIND WAS DRIVEN MAD WITH HATRED AND SORROW!”

The Turbo Demon took a moment to breath after revealing part of the story so far. Perhaps this would be able to show sympathy when Gouki reveals what happened next during that night. A malicious grin appeared in his expression along with a malevolent chuckle as he was ready to finish up the story.

“I remember hearing the words of a demon that offered me the opportunity to bring retribution upon that bastard. Of course I accepted that offer and I immediately found a method to take my revenge! While he was busy stealing the possessions of my home, I was able to sneak into the kitchen to grab a sharp knife from the cabinets. I approached him from behind without making a sound and then when I was close enough, I STABBED HIM RIGHT INTO HIS NECK WITH MY BLADE! HIS SCREAMS OF AGONY WERE SO ENJOYABLE TO HEAR UNTIL HE EVENTUALLY DIED!”

“Of course not even that was enough to satisfy me! I decided to finish the job by urinating all over his dead body! If you were at the scene, that would explain why the body smelt so dreadful! Now do you have any questions to ask me, detective?!”

Gouki expressed his wicked persona throughout his words that brought upon the event where he forever changed into the Demon of Hate. The red-eyed demon probably did not look humane to his audience after such a corrupt tale. The interrogation however was not complete yet as Michelle will most likely ask for questions during and even after the incident

The tension was ripe. The awkward enhancing bird was not around to augment this tension though.

It took a little while after Michelle beckoned the demon of hate to speak, before he did so. Immediately, a rush of adrenalin flowed through Drakow, revitalizing the blind man. He focused intently on Gouki's words while relaxing on his bed. He listened to his story about how a thief robbed him of his parents.

Drakow could not help but feel sad and sympathetic for his roommate. Those feelings were frozen in ice when the sinister laugh escaped Gouki's lips. A solemn expression was plastered on Drakow as he waited for the Ra Yellow to finish up his dreadful tale.

His voice was much more maniacal than before. The madness was seeping through his mind and into the flow of his words now. He spoke of how he made a contract with a demon of some sort and then murdered the one who stole his parents from him. The scariest part was how he spoke of enjoyment as he committed the murder. A shiver tingled up Drakow's spine and he decided to sit upright in fear Gouki might try something reckless.

Who . . . who exactly have I been rooming with all of this time? I always knew Gouki was a heartless person with a cruel personality but I never imagined this level of disregard for human life. I mean, I can comprehend him wanting to get revenge on the one who killed his parents and I can even understand him going as far as taking that man's life. But speaking about such a thing so enthusiastically is a great concern to me. It’s as if he could kill anyone with little regret and with great satisfaction. Including me. If it wasn’t for you introducing yourself into my mind, I would have never believed the section of his story about making a deal with a demon. Even so, it could have easily have been his mind playing tricks on him in his moment beyond the brink of insanity. Can you verify whether he does have some sort of demonic being holed up in his head?

Gouki has broken the barrier to kill someone. Such an act will leave a mental scar on just about anyone. Those with strong minds can mitigate the damage such a wound can inflict on the mind. But it is nigh impossible to completely cure the pain. Certain things such as reliving the event as in this case, can trigger the distress within the mind and the poison can continue to spread through his thoughts, consuming his soul with madness and insanity. Anything is within the realm of possibility with regards to human life as far as that boy is concerned now. It is possible to confirm whether that child has a malicious conscience within his mind but you will need to physically touch him. The facial area is preferable with the easiest entrance point being located at the temples. If you want my personal opinion though, I am aware of a demon whose desire is to provoke hatred towards ones enemies. It is very possible that this demon made an irresistible offer to Gouki. This demon goes by the name of Sonneillon – the Demon of Hate.

It does make sense. It explains why he never shows friendliness or kindness to anyone at all. It supports the reasoning behind his provocative behaviour and hateful attitude to everyone. The pieces do fit I suppose. I highly doubt the detective will believe it though. I am curious to see how she will react.

As am I.

To that end, Drakow decided to keep his mouth shut and wait for the detective to make her move.

The story began, allowing the past finally reveal itself. Coming from Gouki's mouth srpouted a violent story of murder and hate, lots and lots of hate; the only witnesses to such chronicles would be Draco (The random boy) and the detective herself, who remained sitting completely calm, with her legs crossed and her arms resting comfortably slightly above her lap - and sho she remained until the murderous boy had given the story the proper ending.

Clearly it had been a dsturbing thing to hear, yet most of what he said was nothing new - most of it was information the previous detectives had extracted from the crime scene... Michelle was just here to finish the job. With this story also came some new information, apparently Gouki was bringing up things about demons possessing his soul and such (Which was rather redudant for her) but more importantly, he had been adamant on his lack of remorse - there was no doubt that Gouki would surely end another live if he found it necessary... And men such as those did not deserve a spot on society anymore, maaybe even not deserve to exist at all... But law wouldn't alow the latter, and kicking him out of the garden of Eden would perhaps be enough.

Michelle however, couldn't help but to think about the supernatural and clearly ficticious part of the tale: considering how honest he seemed, it was more than likely that Gouki indeed believed in such things, and a such, had lost judgement already... Either that or he was a very good liar. The detective also hoped to be able to keep her promise of being condescendent, and so... An idea sparked anew.

Tilting her head to the side a bit in cocern and putting on a quick frown (though cleary faked/overreacted like an anime character) she would begin to lay down her veredict, again in her gentle voice that seemed empty of any hostility.

~- Michelle -~
" Ahh~ Is that so? I almost guessed it tehee~ But you know, I just can't let you go after that.... It would make Nee-san a very bad detective! But she's still a nice lady, soooo I've got a deal for you!"

She giggled a bit after that last word, lighting up yet another smile, though this one seemed a bit awkward and more precise at expressing her seriousness about the situation.

"I'll just declare you "Not Guilty on reason of mental illness" sounds nice huh? You won't go to jail! Sure, you still have to do other stuff.. but its pretty good,I'm sure it'll fit you just fiiiine <3. "

"But for that to work... You'll have to agree riiiiight now~ Or you'll end up in court and well, you've been quite a bad boy... So it could get complicated :P Soooo, how about it Gouki-kun?"

Gouki saw as the detective not even change her expression after hearing the story even though his blind roommate showed some shock. It would seem that the interrogator would not let him go freely without either facing court or being declared as being mentally ill. Both options surely did not sound pleasant and perhaps he could negotiate to get himself out of the predicament. The demon calmed down as he expressed his defense argument.

“Now I got a question for the interrogator. What do you supposed would happen if I did not take that opportunity to end the life of that murderer? I could have easily died that night if I did not act. What I did was perfectly logical. It would seem that perhaps the emotions I revealed was too scary for you to let me go. Do you honestly think I am going to become a serial killer?! It was my life or his! The thief would have been a greater threat to society than I would ever have! Now, what do you have to reply to that?!”

All Gouki can do is attempt to fight for his freedom from his dark past. If he can just somehow avoid the penalties, there would be no more worries from the law intervening in his life. The red-eyed demon felt prepared to bribe if his arguments fail to save him the trouble that would seem to be ready to face him.
