(OOC: That's not a typo in the topic title.

Also! I think a while back Dante mentioned he SHOULD have been a vegetarian, but he still did occasionally enjoy eating meat, and only didn't do so more often because Billie was around. Well... Billie packed the menu, so you're stuck with it! =D)

---

Wilhelmina April May June Rachel Hatcher had invited her closest friend, Dante Laxina, to spend some time with her at a romantic getaway. Unfortunately for lady Hatcher however, Dante was unaware of her intentions. Because of this, when she suggested a picnic between them, he'd probably not have seen the romantic undertones she intended to set up between them.

The warm sun overhead, the cool shade under the tree, a refreshing, nearly autumn breeze bringing the sweet scent of grass to her nose, and a small blanket for them to rest on, along with a small basket of vegetarian-only snacks. All she needed was Dante to make the scene perfect.

She awaited for the shorter Ra Yellow boy to show up, as she tried to do some last minute touched upon her snow white hair, done up in a braid and held in place by a black and white ribbon. She was wearing her gothic loli disguise.

Waiting for the boy was killing her though. She said [InsertNumberHere] o' clock, and it was already [InsertNumberHere] ten! She thought about sending him ten more PMs, waiting anxiously for him in the shade of the tree.

She had planned this as a bit of a surprise, only alerting him that she wanted to eat with him for a while.

It had to be a hilltop. It just had to be a hilltop. Dante looked up the rising slope. There was a fine looking tree towards the top, with plenty of branches, some of them drooping low. It would be a fine climbing tree, if Dante were so inclined. But he was not so inclined. He started walking up, though, because he knew Mina would be upset if he didn't. It was so far up, though! Regardless, he took step after step, trying to ignore how predominantly lazy he felt.

In truth, it wasn't much of a hill. Maybe a hundred feet up or so, in the shades of a big, victorious old oak tree, Dante was honestly just too lazy to really think of it as the easy task it should have been. The sky was a perfect blue, the sun shining brightly behind him. Only a few cards dotted the sky, and Dante looked up to them occassionally, trying to pick out their shapes. It was minutes later -- he knew he was late, and hoped she had been too otherwise occupied to notice -- that he came up on the top of the hill. He saw her fiddling with her braid, and notice d-- perhaps a little too quickly -- the out fit she was wearing.

He said nothing at first, sneaking up behind her. All at once, he plopped on to the ground, right in front of her (taking care, of course, to avoid landing in any food) and feigned exhaustion. "Hill... so... high... need... food! ... Can't... talk... normal!" He placed the back of his hand over his forehead, as though he were some cliched damsel in distress.

Taking a mor eserious expression, his face upturned into a smile, and he didn't bother moving from where he was, laying in front of her, his head almost in her lap. "Hey, Mina."

Her heart skipped a beat as the short lad feel down in front of her. Partly because she didn't immediately recognize him and assumed him to be a mugger.

But sure enough, it was her good friend Dante. Her heart skipped a second beat as she saw him, the edges of her cheek highlighting in a perfect pink hue.

She was blushing, and yet she didn't know why. They had spoken a million times before, and had done countless things together. They were almost as close as family. Even her words left her almost breathless.

"Uhh..." she stammered, a quick blink before finally beginning to realize why he had pretended to pass out there.

"H-hey Dante." She said, a nervous smile decorating her face as she crossed her legs.

Mina was pale, normally, so color in her face was easily noticed. Dante assumed he had frightened her, as an explanation for the redness in her cheeks. He sat up, scooching over to the other side of the picnic blanket, just And looked hungrily into the basket as his stomache growled. "Ah, the roaring of a hungry teenage male." he said, dreaming of big, meaty sandwhiches and things covered with enough pork product to make even Aoi turn away, "Enough to make even the most fearsome of lions turn away."

He chuckled for half a second, and leaned back on his arms, looking from the basket to Mina. Naturally, he knew there would be nothing meaty inside. Mina had made this, after all, and it would thus be all vegetarian. Dante didn't mind at all: the short german lad had grown accustomed to her diet, "cheating" only when she wasn't around."So, you're certainly dressed..." What exactly would the word for this be? He looked her up and down, trying to find the right one. "Black?" He was entirely unsure of what exactly the proper word for it was. He couldn't say it didn't like good on her though. "It's an interesting change, I gotta say."

His stomache growled again, and Dante's focus changed direction. "Sooo.... Whaddya got in that pic-a-nic basket?" Perhaps just a little too much like Yogi Bear, Dante eyed it warily. His stomach growled again, and he laughed. "As I'm sure you can hear, I'm asking purely for your sake. I'll eat you, if I don't get something soon."

(OOC: Sakaki! Stop forgetting Dante's colour! 0_0)

---

"Uhh... w-well..." she had to regain her confidence! Being a former nurse's assistant, she did know some tips to ease stress. Eye contact and visually seeing someone imposing tends to make a gal nervous, so all Billie had to do to not allow herself to become overfilled with emotions was not look at him.

Either said than done though, Dante was just so darn cute! Her eyes immediately darted to the picnic basket, as she turned her attention away from him for a second.

"I've packed a lot of small things for us Dante." taking her eyes off the boy seemed to have eased her anxiety as she was now sitting on her knees and searching for food for the pair.

"All Natural Potato Chips," two small bags produced, "Popcorn," only one bag of this, however slightly larger than the chips. "Watermelon, grapes, apple slices," She pulled out three indivudal plastic containers, the fruit chilled slightly as she wasn't in the mood to eat rotten food. "A thermos full of fruit juice." A silver container that Billie put to the side, attempting to keep it upright. "And! Two loaves of warm garlic bread!" She smiled at the last one, bread with small hints of garlic baked right in.

She turned around, now face to face with her love. "I d-didn't forget anything, right?" An 'eager for validation' type of look in her eyes as she awaited his response.

(For the record, I know stomache isn't supposed to be spelled with the e at the end. I got stuck on the early-late 1800s spelling of the word, and I can't NOT spell it that way now.)

His stomache growled just a little bit louder with every item pulled from the basket, and Dante had no problems with what she produced at all. Already, the short german lad was envisioning a strange sort of sandwhich, using some of that garlic bread, the potato chips, the popcorn, and the watermelon -- just to add moisture in case the chips and pop corn dried the bread (which he had to admit looked delicious) out.

The smell filled him, filled his very soul -- for, despite having had a full meal not an hour or so before, Dante was as ravenous as if he had not eaten in weeks -- and he delighted in it. Mina asked if she had forgotten anything, and Dante inhaled deeply, just for the sake of getting one more hint of that sweet scent. "Well, by the way all this smells, you didn't miss a beat, Mina." The words came casually to him. They were quite true, but had no monumental meaning, or at least, not within his intentions. "In fact, if it smells as good as it tastes, you might be safe from me for a while -- which I think we can both be glad for." He laughed a little at her and said "Black might look alright on you, but it certainly won't make ya tasty."

(OOC: It's okay. I can't manage to type the American spelling of colour. So much so, that I was accused of plagarism in college when I used the British spelling, until the professor realized I had used "favourite" and "neighbour" in hand written in-class assignments. <_<)

His sweet laughter was like a gentle music to her awaiting ears. The knowledge that Dante was enjoying himself was more than enough for Billie.

Her dark blue eyes, hidden behind her red contacts, looked at Dante with longing, but she dared not say a word, not without knowing if he felt the same way.

"Uhh..." she blushed at his compliment on the color she wore. Did he always pay attention to what she wore.

She sighed. What was going on with her? Her and Dante used to be inseperable when they were kids, but now the boy left her wordless and unable to make sense of things. And a part of her enjoyed it. Maybe a quick subject change would keep her mind off it.

"H-hey!" she said, pointing to a large slate pillar a few feet or so away. "You've heard the story of the Dusk Memorial Park Pillar, right?" He probably hadn't, and she only had about a few minutes before she sat down here.

"A while ago-" she took a bite of watermelon. "A hurricane tore through one of our neighboring academies. Then, as if to add injury to... injury, an earthquake split the ground underneath the island." She took another bite. "Hundred of students at Sonic Duck Academy died that day."

A quietness now seemed to surround the pair. "Kind makes you think... doesn't it?" she sighed. "Like... maybe we should be doing the most out of life... in case it suddenly comes to an end. Live life to the fullest, ya' know, and tell all the people that you l-love" she choked a little, coughing up a seed. "... j-just h-how much they mean to you." An emotional tone to her voice, still trying to work up the courage to tell him how much she cared.

As she spoke, he made his admittedly strange sandwhich, and oh, what a sandwhich it was. part watermelon, part potato chip, part popcorn, part garlic bread, it had all the aspects necessary to make a good sandwhich (accept meat, a loss Dante would accept for Mina): Crunch, moisture, and a meshing of flavors that was strange and yet good together. Dante was a christian, and strong in his faith. The Lord was a serious aspect of his life.

If He were not, however, Dante have to seriously consider this sandwhich, right here, in his hands, as his personal choice of gods. Here was a God who loved him, who treated him right, and whom he could meet again whenever he desired -- and had the means. Yup, this was a God he could enjoy.

He listened intently as he made and ate his sandwhich. The chips, the watermelon, the popcorn -- in a wierd, sickening sort of way, it made for a fine sandwhich. But the best of it all was the bread. His first bite, and he had to pause, taking a moment to savor -- yes, Dante actually took the time to savor this.... We therefore know it must be good -- the food, wondering just where She had gotten this.

She finished her story, and Dante finished chewing his second bite, nodded, and swallowed. "Well, y'never know when you're going Home," he said, relaxed despite his claim of constant, lurking death, and went on. "I s'pose the people that matter to you should know that they matter. I'd hate not to know if someone really cared about me, and then just was... gone." He thoguth a moment, ad added "Even worse if I went Home before I could tell someone how I felt about them." He looked at Mina intently, but not with romance on his mind. No, he was, instead, trying to figure her out. What's UP with this girl today? The clothes, and... I dunno... that look. What is it? He had picked up on her voice, but couldn't quite pick out what about it alarmed him.

"But then, I guess it all pans out in the end. Not like we'll ever really be gone forever, right?" And with that, Dante took another bite of God sandwhich, enjoying it really quite thoroughly.

"Of course not." Getting a little more courage, yet still very noticebly nervous, Lady Hatcher moved from her kneeling position to at the base of the basket to right next to Dante.

She smiled, trying her best not to show the stress she was under. "Dante..." she muttered, trying to get his attention for a split second. "You're my best friend and... I l-" she stopped.

"... Uhh, let's just enjoy the scenery some more."

(I'ma God-m od Mina just a teensy bit, and just say she answered Dante's question. I won't even say how she answered, just that she did. If that's a problem, you can let me know and I'll be all too happy to change my post.)

Billie

(OOC: No problem. I'll just write it in myself. =D )

Dante raised an eyebrow when she moved herself closer to Dante. She sat next to him, and Dante really didn't mind. He had been her friend for longer than he could remember, after all. Closeness wasn't really an issue. He looked up at the sky, noting the clouds. They weren't heavy, and Dante tried picking shapes out of them. It wasn't working as well as he would like. Mina was definitely the more imaginitive of the pair. He was already enjoying the scenery: Mina needn't ask him to.

He pointed up at the sky, out lining one cloud in particular. "Hey Mina," he said, looking at one. "What does that cloud look like to you. I can't see anything in it, but you've always been more imaginative than me." She answered his question,

Billie

"Uhh... a heart."

and he shaped out one more,
Billie

"Two l-life long friends holding hands."

and then another,
Billie

"A woman who couldn't think of losing her closest friend..."

and then another,
Billie

"Nimbostratus clouds. No Dante! That's not what you get when you fuse Elemental Hero Stratos with Nimble Momonga! It's... nevermind. <_<"

with Mina finding shapes to each ones, while Dante picked out the next, trying to see the shape she had identified in the last.

"What about that one?" He pointed to a plane, jokingly outlining it. It had a sign flowing behind it, advertising some crab shack. ("Get crabs at the Sanders seafood shack!") He laughed, saying that that cloud (the plane) looked very much like a bunny rabbit.
