If any of you have been paying attention you may have noticed that the council has done nothing since it's inception. It's now time for that to change. The first thing to do is to create a new council. It will consist of 5 members this time. It will have elections at the end of every month. This enables council members who are not productive to be removed and new members to take their place. For this first election we will start with nominations. You may nominate anyone, however keep in mind that they should be active members of the community and responsible. Rules about nominations - You can not nominate yourself - You can only nominate one person - All nominations must be seconded - You may only second two nominations - You may not second a nomination for yourself - Nominees must accept nominations to be included in the vote. I will create a poll on Wednesday of next week. All nominations that have been seconded and accepted by that time will be included. As a little heads up to people accepting nominations. The council will be having weekly meeting (dates and times to be determined by members). The council will also have to reach decisions on the issues brought before them at the meeting. This will be done by vote. Once the council is created a chair will be picked from among the council members by the council members. The chair will be responsible for deciding meeting times, selecting the meeting topics and counting votes among other things. Thus when you accept you nomination to council keep in mind that by doing so you are indicating that you will be able to remain active for at least a first term of one month and will be able to attend the weekly meetings. More to come on council regulations once the council has been selected. Nominations will begin now.
