Curfew was drawing nearer as Rina finally arrived at the Sebek Green dormitory. Though she had arrived, with no one in plain sight, she hadn't considered how to grab the attention of potential opponents. Knocking on their doors was not something that she wanted to do, if it was avoidable. Yelling was in the same category.... Rina contorted her face, puzzled and somewhat frustrated. "Does this mean I'll have to wait for someone to come out...?" She folded her ams and pouted with puffed cheeks. "Totally not fu--!! Oh!" Just then, a Sebek student (NPC) came out of his room, yawning as he was headed for the men's outhouse, behind the old building. This was Rina's first visit to the dorm, so there was no indication of this, as far as she could see. As he came down the stairs, Rina called out to him. "Hey~!" "Huh...?" With lazy eyes, the black-haired, brown-eyed Sebek glanced in Rina's direction. She was waving in the air at him. Groaning, he replied, "Yeah~, whadda want...!?" "Wanna duel~?" the blue-eyed girl asked. "No thanks~!" The green student yawned and continued on his way to the back of the small dorm. Rina lowered her hand and frowned. "Well this is getting me nowhere, fast...." If she really wanted a duel against a Sebek, heck, even an Osiris, next door, she'd have to standby and wait. Fortunately, despite it being dark, it wasn't cold out. Only a slight breeze that left her feeling serene every once in a while. |

Lawrence had just arrived from his encounter with the curious Yellow male. It seemed they were not fated to duel, as his rucksack called out to him, and he could not manage to get the table hanging from his arm to work. He walked toward the Sebek Area, when an unusually bright tuft of orange caught his attention in the darkness. A firefly perhaps? Too big to be a firefly. He walked towards the area, a sense of trepidation in his step. Could it have been a Dragon? Once he stepped into a sight, he recognized the feminine form as being merely a small little girl. "You there!" he called out. "What business do you have here!?" |

"Heh--?" She cautiously turned around. It, thankfully, wasn't the headmaster: the voice was too different. "E'geh!" Catching sight of the male, she recognized him as the sword-wielding Sebek from class, long ended. His name, however, she didn't remember, but at this point in time, that was of very little concern to her. She didn't want to be staring down the tip of his sword in any way possible. With that said, she answered with an anxious tone in her voice. "Me? I wa-- I was just looking for a duel...! That's all...!" |

"A duel eh?" a twinkle in his eye and he saw this was a good opportunity to test his skills. "I shall entertain your ambition then, little Firefly." He raised his arm, showing his duel disk. "However, I am unfamiliar with your customary ways of dueling. Please explain how to operate this mechanism." He motioned to the item on his arm. As he spoke, his PDA buzzed once more. He had no idea an e-mail was sent to him, informing him to go to the forest for the headmaster's punishment. |

"-- ...'Firefly?" Rina wondered to herself. That was the first time that nickname had ever been use on her. As for explaining how to use the duel disk, Rina was even more puzzled. An academy duelist who didn't know how to use a duel disk.... Was he a table-topper? Probably, she figured. "Well," she began, "there are three ways of activating this version of the duel disk. ...The first is by pressing the button underneath the disk, itself, near the arm brace." Rina raised her arm so that Lawrence could see her disk from underneath. She pointed at the button's location. "The second is by tightening your arm and bringing it upward." She then remembered his interaction with Ryo's 'technology' and sweatdropped. "...It's a... technological thing, so don't worry about that one.... Those two ways work only if your deck is already in its deck space. The last way to turn it on..." she retrieved her deck from her duelist belt holster and began shuffling it, "is to insert the deck. Once you do...." She stuffed her deck into the deck zone of the disk. As it locked into place, the device scanned the inside of the deck zone. The red orb half of the duel disk extended, and the second half of the monster zone ejected from its compartment. The blue and red orbs on top then lit up, completing the disk's transition from standby to battle mode. "You're ready to go!" Edited by Rina Kasakura, Mar 17 2008, 06:49 PM.

"Very well Firefly." the knight spoke. "Have it your way." He placed his deck into the disk's holder. He then did the second way she instructed. He raised his arm while clenching a fist. The disk loaded into place, almost scaring the knight half to death. He tried his best to regain his composure. "I... I shall begin the duel then." he said. "You dare tread upon Sebek grounds, it is only customary that we go first." He drew out his top 5 cards, and then one more. "I'll shall commence with Future Fusion!" How odd that a person ripped from the past would activate a card speaking about the future. In any case, he searched through his deck, pulling out King's Knight, Queen's Knight, and Jack's Knight. "After the conclusion of two of my standby phases, you shall see the emergence of my most powerful monster!" He smiled. "But prior to that, I summon Blade Knight!" A dark looking Knight holding a white sword emerged onto the field. "You may go, little Firefly." Edited by Billie Hatcher, Mar 17 2008, 07:03 PM.

"Future Fusion...!" The redhead Ra grinned from ear to ear as she saw which fusion materials were sent to the Graveyard. The infamous Yugi Muto used those three cards to create a powerful monster. Rina wondered if this future fusion monster would be the one and the same. (8000/8000) "Still with the 'Firefly." She pondered it some more. "...Hm. Y'know... I could use that, someday.... But, for now, I draw!" With her opening hand of 5 cards already in place, she pulled out another card from the top of her deck. Analyzing her hand, she came up with a plan. "Let's see how well this 'firefly' can shine! First, I'll set one monster in defense mode!" As she placed the card horizontally on the monster zone, its solid image hologram appeared before her. "Next," she selected 3 cards from her hand and began inserting them into the slots below the monster zones, "I'll lay down 3 cards for support! That ends my turn." |

"Hmm..." a sense of fear a trepidation lit up in the man's face. Three spells and traps? In any case, the man drew a card. "I shall activate Mystical Space Typhoon!" he declared. Rina grinned. "Sorry, but that one's gonna cost ya! I'll activate that trap... known as 'Secret Barrel!" As the card revealed itself, a number of cannon mouths appeared from within the card. "This card takes out 200 of your life points! ...For each card you control on the field, and each card in your hand!" Seven cannon mouths, in total, emerged. |

"Ahh!" roared Lawrence. It seemed the card he had targeted was chainable. "It appears the firefly burns rbightly..." (6600/8000) He got back on his feet. "Let us take a step out of this dreary night scenery." he said, noting a confused look on the girl's face. "I activate the field spell Luminous Spark!" As the card was activated, the entire playing field was covered in a bright, blinding light. It took Lawrence a second to adjust his eyes to the brightness of it all, but at last, he managed. "Now, my Blade Knight! Attack!" Blade Knight rushed forward, sword extending in his hand, all 2100 attack points aimed at the facedown. The monster was flipped faceup, Big Shield Gardna. Blade Knight's atack had been repulsed, and Lawrence lost a little chunk of points. (6100/8000) "You may go ahead, Firefly." |
