“It’s the flying V!” Victor commented as Dia collapsed. The new turn of events were more than a little surprising. The fact the girl ignored him completely as she ran by gave Victor some pause. Was it because she believed she was more powerful or was it simply that she didn’t know who he was? That coupled with the fact that the holy man had been dispatched so easily was puzzling. If the church was going to left someone run around eating people Victor figured the man would at least put up a better fight. “Care to make some introductions?” Victor commented to the girl as he adjusted his stance so he could study her better. This day was full of surprises. |

The mysterious girl's mouth hung agape as her mighty blade sliced cleanly through Dio's body, splattering blood against the warehouse's shingled structure as it flew off the shining business end of her weapon. The blood's pattern against the metal made it almost seem as if her blade were longer than it was, as in the exact moment that she cut through him, there was a distinct slash trajectory that went through Dia's midsection, then diagonally up the side of the warehouse. If the blood had been her blade, the warehouse would have been sliced open as well. As her momentum brought the blade back around, she heaved it to alter its direction downward, slamming the tip into the pavement to stop its motion and her body's rotation. The Engine Blade was much too heavy a weapon to stop its momentum with just her own muscles, so slamming it into the ground or any other large, thick immobile surface was the quickest way of dissipating its force. For the moments between stopping her spin and Victor approaching her, she merely stared down at the halves of Dia's body in awe. She had fought many people in this city, but never before had anything like this happened. It was the first time she had seen a dead body, especially one so thoroughly maimed. There had been times where her assaults had likely left mortal wounds, but she never stayed to observe her victim. This time, she had no choice but to gaze down in awe, her left eye still blazing with a bright blue fire that somehow was unable to ignite the jet-black hair above it. "I.. killed him." But... he was going to kill that man. He already murdered another. You were right. Don't be afraid. "I'm... not afraid..." "Care to make some introductions?" called the all too calm voice behind her, that of the man she'd rescued from imminent digestion. Though she turned her head to the right and glanced quickly with her 'normal' eye, she made no attempt to answer his question. Instead, ignoring him, she walked over to where Roadkill Panda had landed, scooping him up into her arms and leaving the Engine Blade behind. Only once she had retrieved her plush partner did she return to where the blade had been jammed, finally looking at Victor directly with both eyes. "Don't ask me questions," were her first words to him. Loud, with almost angry emphasis. "Hurry and run. The police will--" Once more, her lips parted as her jaw fell. The blue flame over her left eye flickered wildly as she stared straight into Victor's eyes. She hadn't noticed it at first glance, since she had focused on Dia--and who wouldn't, with the gore he had already caused--but this man was not a normal human either. Now that she had a good look at him... he was frighteningly powerful. There was an aura which eminated from his entire body... one that flowed like a sea, dribbling out across the landscape as if he were leaking an ocean onto the pavement. It made her step back, her left hand reaching out and grasping the handle of the Engine Blade without actually removing the sword from the crack in the tarmac it had caused. "What... are you?" Suddenly, she felt as if perhaps she had made a mistake. Perhaps, the tall man was actually a much more dangerous person than the cannibalistic one she had just killed. Perhaps it was a fight for territory between fellow cannibals. Either way, she was starting to feel sick to her stomach. The stench of blood was filling her nostrils and souring her taste buds. This... is not good. |

Victor was surprised at the small girl’s strength, being able to wield a sword like that. She certainly wasn’t normal human girl, something was different. But her actions struck him as peculiar. She stared at the body like someone who had never experience carnage this close, but surly someone who wielded a sword like that had seen death before. And there was the stuffed animal, why did she throw it in the first place and what purpose did it serve. She was very peculiar indeed but that only made Victor’s hunger stronger. "Don't ask me questions, hurry and run. The police will—“ she turned and begun angrily. And for a moment Victor’s face matched hers with shock. One of her eyes was on fire. A blue flame engulfed the entire eye and flicked madly. But Victor recovered from his shock first, and shrugged. “The police don’t concern me. While this town is certainly full of surprises I doubt the police have an ace up there sleeve to deal with me.” Victor continued calmly as if they had all the time in the world. “What… are you?” she stammered as she retreated towards her weapon. Smiling Victor withdrew his hands form his pockets. “Are all the interesting people in the town this rude?” he wondered aloud. “No introduction, nothing! Not so much as a howdy do.” Sighing Victor studied the girl in front of him. The sword in one hand and the plush panda in the other amongst all the blood made an interesting scene. “I would have thought a girl such as yourself who wonders the rooftops would be able to recognize a vampire when you saw one.” As if you punctuate his point his stomach rumbled. The bounded field would be beginning to sap her will, but it was also beginning to make Victor crave blood more. And the sight of the former holy man with the blood splatter on the wall certainly wasn’t helping Victor maintain control. “I’ve answered your question, my turn. What does that flaming eye of yours do?” |

Victor's calm demeanor confirmed her fears--this man was not a man at all. The way he acted so collected and sure of himself amidst a sea of blood that should make any sane person wretch was unmistakeably foul. "Vam...pire," she repeated quietly to herself, almost under her breath. A Vampire. A being that consumes the life force of another to survive. Her left eye flicked momentarily back to the gore which was once Dia's body. That man ate someone too. I might be right... they could both be Vampires. "I've answered your question, my turn," Victor continued on, forcing her to return her attention to him and him alone. "What does that flaming eye of yours do?" As if her body responded directly to his request, the fire burning around her eye flickered out into nothingness, leaving only eerily blue pupils behind. If I don't look into him... I won't see his power. I...can fight. However... I need a distraction. Her accursed power nullified, Victor now looked like any other person and their surroundings were merely a deserted pier. The blood-stained aura about him as well as the unsettling seeping mass were nowhere to be seen. After all, such things weren't discernable by human vision. "I don't know myself," she replied with a sigh, not breaking her stare. It was a lie, but then again she had no reason to tell the truth in a situation like this. If she were to defeat him here, what use would it be to bother filling him in with useless information? Looking down at Roadkill Panda in her arms, the edge of her mouth seemed to twitch slightly. Did the makings of a smile just cross her otherwise unreadible and emotionless expression? Dropping the plush into her hand, she casually tossed it Victor's way. "Why not ask him?" This was by far the most conversation she'd ever had with someone else, especially someone she intended to slay to maintain peace and order in Fuyuki--even if it was all lies. The conversation, though, would soon come to an end. As soon as the panda's trajectory ended roughly at Victor's hands she twisted her body, her hand on the Engine Blade gripping tightly to pry it from the asphalt. Once freed a single step sent her spinning momentum towards the self-professed Vampire, intending to slice him in half just as she had Dia! With luck, the sword just might bisect Roadkill Panda, too. |

DON'T CALL ME TIGER
|
"Listen...to my thought bubble...!" In about the most energetic voice he could muster, though all it sounded like was Roadkill Panda was waking from a nightmare really. Regardless, he would begin explaining things...just not in the way anyone would expect. He wasn't actually speaking, he was explaining things in his head...it was a intricate and well put together explanation that would likely leave no questions unanswered. Only you know, it was in a thought bubble above his head, one that actually didn't exist. Instead, his attempt to explain would leave one more question: where the hell did he get the sunglasses he was now wearing? |
