"Dang it."

There were no headphones stuck to her head today, no flip flops or shorts. There was a slight chill in the air as she wandered today, bringing about the black leather jacket and dark pair of jeans. But her shoes, of course, Maelynn kept them fashionable. They too were a black leather material, laced from the top of her foot straight to her knee. She found herself singing, to no one but herself, as was the usual, but the song of choice today, came from a book. She stepped lightly almost silently though the woods, her long dark hair flowing freely in the light morning breeze.

Deep in the meadow, under the willow
A bed of grass, a soft green pillow
Lay down your head, and close your eyes
And when they open, the sun will rise.

She had a free morning, and was tired of the buildings and noise; So Maelynn let herself have her own morning, in the woods, just wandering, admiring the colors of spring, quietly apologizing for spooking whatever animal was nearby; and in a secret part of her mind, feeling very much like Snow White, even whispering to herself that she should've brought a cape.

Here it's safe, and here it’s warm
Here the daisies guard you from every harm
Here your dreams are sweet–
–and tomorrow brings them true
Here is the place where I love you.

Ever since she'd started her new job at the Occult shop, pretty much managing it due to the lack of appearances her manager would make, Maelynn had found herself very in touch with nature, having read books on green magick and the like. She picked a small white flower and twirled it between her fingers as a smile danced at her lips, seeing the morning dew still fresh on the flowers petals.

Deep in the meadow, hidden far away
A cloak of leaves, a moonbeam ray
Forget your woes and let your troubles lay
And when again it’s morning, they’ll wash away

After another moment or two, she tucked the flower behind her ear, pulling her hair back with it, to balance the flower, and keep it in place.

Here it’s safe, and here it’s warm
Here the daisies guard you from every harm
Here your dreams are sweet–
– and tomorrow brings them true
Here is the place where I love you.

As she finished the song, she looked around, taking a full circle before taking a lock of hair and twirling it in her fingers. So content with her morning, so lost in the beauty of the woods, Maelynn didn't take into account that she may actually find herself physically lost... Until now, when all she could see was trees, grass, branches, flowers... Just forest.

"Dang it." Maelynn whispered while continuing to look around.

While at his place in the country after dropping Ollie off at his loft, he went inside to take a much desired shower. Once he was done he threw on a clean shirt, jeans and tennis shoes. Going to the kitchen, he grabbed himself a beer and threw a couple corn dogs in the microwave and started it up. Popping the top on the beer he took a long swing before a beeping caught his attention. Walking to his laptop he brought up the security program and saw that one of his sensors set in the forest next to his house had gone off.

Having tucked in a knife behind his pants, he made his way into the forest where the sensor was placed. Markus was about to turn around when the sound of a female voice singing caught his attention and debated a full five seconds before finally going to find the source. The familiar brunette came into view as he heard the words, "Dang it." Taking another swig of the beer, he leaned on a tree. "Would this be similar to Snow White or Little Red Riding Hood?"

She spun on her heel, sliding a little on the fallen leaves that covered the ground. Mae smiled and took a step toward him. "That'd depend. Would you be prince charming, or the big bad wolf?" She placed her hands in the pockets of the leather jacket and continued her approach, barely making a noise with her step. Physically, she was light enough to not make much noise, but a light step didn't hurt.

"Beer? This early in the mornin'? It can't be much passed eight or so. I don't think I've been out here this long." she flicked her hair behind her shoulder before replacing her hand into her pocket and looked up to the sky for a second, eyeing the location of the sun to judge the time.

Maelynn eyed him up, deciding that 'relaxed' was what he looked for today. So all of her searching for him, led her to believe, that he took his own little vacation. Well, little, being two months or so, but to each their own. "Long time no see." She added with a quick nod.

"That's the tricky question.... Are you looking in the light? Or for something a little dark?" Glancing at his watch, "It's still breakfast time, but some of us prefer beer to blood, I suppose." He was sure this would be lost on her since she didn't know of his twin that he had. Finishing off the beer, "Since we already have the big bad wolf in town, I'll play the part of Prince Charming."

"Indeed it has been a long time. I had my reasons for up and vanishing. But first things first, let's get you out of this forest. If you keep going the way you were going, you'd be walking into a literal pack of wolves." He took a few steps past her as he walked to a tree a few feet back. Kneeling down, his hands took a piece off bark off the tree that turned out to be a cylindrical object about three inches in diameter. Pressing a series of buttons, followed by a soft beep and replaced it where it blended into the tree again. Walking back towards Mae, Markus offered his non-beer holding arm to her. "Shall we?"

Maelynn tilted her head off to the side at his mention of the town already having a big bad wolf. "You don't mean Kieran do ya? She ain't really so bad, could use a little fun, a smile or two in her life, but she ain't so bad." She shrugged a little and then widened her eyes at the wolf talk, looking over her shoulder toward where the wolves den must be.

She then followed him with her eyes, watching him pull a tree apart and put it back together in a sense. "A toy of yours, I'll assume?" She asked while leaning toward him, trying to catch a glimpse at his work. She nodded and linked arms with him, resting her palm easily at his forearm. "Indeed we shall." She said with a smile and a nod while tucking a lock of hair behind her ear.

"Gotta make sure no one sneaks up on me." He said as he walked with her out of the forest to a spot just behind his place. "No one knows that the sentries are there, cloak, camo, the whole nine." Domino rested out in the sunlight, the light reflecting off her polished metal. "Kieran, no. Someone worse than her, I'm afraid." From the way she talked about Kier, sounds like she hand been spending some time at the shop.

"Did you get a job at the shop?" Probably not, though he had to ask. She didn't look like the kind of girl to get her hands dirty from engine oil and grease like he or Kieran. He finished off the beer and tossed it into one of the trash bins outside the house.

The sun was starting to warm up the day, and as they walked, Maelynn peeled the leather jacket off, tucking it under her free arm, her hand now moving to the pocket of her jeans instead of the jacket. Worse than Kieran? Mae thought to herself that the run ins she'd had with Kieran weren't exactly on the friendly level, nor the nice in any manner sort of level, however, to think that there was someone worse out there, almost irked her nerves. "Perhaps the real big bad wolf just needs a little love, and he or she will become a big not so bad puppy." She shrugged a bit and smiled as they cleared the woods and came to his house.

"Me? Oh gracious no. I did however, lose a job, and gain another in your absence. I use to stop in and ask Kieran if she had heard anythin' from you. Ya' didn't much seem like the type to up and vanish, so I tried to check in." Mae shrugged a bit before pointing over to Domino. "I see she's beautiful as ever." Mae smiled and nodded, confirming her own words.

"I don't think any kind of loving will calm that wolf for too long." He said out loud, but mostly to himself. "And about just up and leaving, something came up that required my immediate and undivided attention." Looking up at the sky, using his hand to block some of the sunlight. He saw blood on his hand, but knew it wasn't real. This sight might never go away, but that didn't mean he wasn't going to let it get to him and keep him down. That was in the past, and that's were it would remain.

Walking over toward her, he placed his hand on her shoulder. "Just falling apart without me, aren't you?" He said with a slight chuckle. "Where's this new job at?" He was picturing her working with children or something like that, probably a restaurant gig. A place where her personality could really shine.

She brought a gentle hand to his forearm and smiled to him, "You're safe, I forgive you. I'm not some cold hearted she devil that would lash out for you having other things in your life besides myself." Maelynn let out a little laugh.

"Oh my gracious, I was a lost puppy without you here, I cried myself to sleep nightly!" She overexadurated both her accent and her tone before letting a light laugh out and instantly twirling her hair at the talk of her job. "Ah.. Uh... Well..." Why as she having a hard time saying it, she wasn't home, witchcraft and the like weren't devil worship, and it wasn't a sin to have a job. Mae took a deep breath in and nodded. "An occult shop, actually." She cleared her throat a little and brought her hands behind her back, waiting for some horrible reaction like what she would get back home.

An occult shop, really? Man, this Southern Belle was full of surprises. "That doesn't sound too bad, Mae. I think it'd be fun to travel across the states to hunt down sightings of supernatural events and creatures." Markus tried to remain serious after that comment, but he couldn't, so he busted out laughing. "But, on a somewhat serious note, if I came in, would I get a discount?" He smirked to show he was still teasing a bit.

He moved over towards the back door of his house and opened it up for her. "Would you like to come in? I was just about to start making breakfast."
