Storm drew up out of the instinctual crouch he'd fallen in, though he hadn't got to the point of fighting with the wolf that had stared him down before its owner called for it. His eyes flickered to Shadow, then to his wound, and his mind came back, now having something besides fear to preoccupy it. He went to Shadow's side, removing his shirt, revealing the long scar stretching from his shoulder to his hip, and wrapped it tightly over Shadow's wound. He then took Shadow's arm and put it around his shoulders, pulling him up. "We're getting you back to the castle to see the healer there. I'm sure these guys have enough to reflect on as is." He turned his attention to the soldiers staring at them. "The lesson from that is to learn that every creature has a weakness, and more than one. That is a very important lesson and one you all might like to take on your journeys. Check the cafeteria today. You are all assigned in groups and there is a proper amount of different maps scattered about. You all can either fight over who gets which or you can all think it through carefully of which team would work best with which map. There will be something for you to collect at the end of each map. And be careful. You'll be in and out of our borders and it is dangerous. Some of you will return with your objects. Some of you will be here without an object. And some of you won't be here at all. The ones here with an object are the only ones I'll need in my army. Oh, and by the way. You only have until dawn." He left the building, carrying Shadow carefully towards the castle. "I'm really sorry. There's no reason I should have froze up like that. I'll make sure you're taken care of." |

Shadow chuckled lightly, the pain faded and numbed from adrenaline. "It's not your fault. It could have just as easily been me as well. I was surprised with myself that I moved at all," Shadow said with false amusement. He sighed slightly and began to tell the story behind his words with a hushed voice as not to let Crystal over hear. "You see, when I was younger, myself, Crystal, and our good friend Rufus were assaulted by Fenrir, far worse than just those. We all got away with our lives somehow, and no one remembers how, but that image of them hovering over me and the others, hungry for our flesh...It's engraved in my mind." Crystal came up beside them then, worry painted on her face. "I'm alright. You know I've survived much worse," Shadow reassured her before she could speak. "And actually, I need to go into town to get something while we are already out doing things." Crystal immediately objected to this. "You need to get your wound tended to. Even if it isn't me, I won't stand for that." Shadow had his hand pressed to his chest still, hiding the second wound and letting his element cover it well. "Like I said, I've survived worse. I just have to get something important," he said, his gaze sharpening with his last word. "Geez. You always were such a pain. When you're done in town, come back to the castle and I'll patch you up properly," she sighed in submission. With that said, Crystal flounced back to the castle, spear in hand and held naturally from years of use. Shadow sighed himself and said, "I have business with the jeweler you were at the other day. He should have an order ready for me. I say that, but some people are so unreliable now." |

"I... haven't had the best experiences with wolves." He stayed silent until Crystal left, then glanced at the burden he was carrying. "You don't have to hide it anymore. I can smell the blood from every wound you have. In which case, I must say, I'm glad I drank it earlier." Frustration swam in Storm's eyes, though. Especially when Shadow told what was so important for him to do. "Can't you get it later? Most people here are reliable and he won't give it to anyone else but you. It can wait another day. This is my fault and I'm not going to let you just walk around and make everything raw." |

Shadow shrugged saying, "I didn't really intend to hide it from you. Just her. Crystal worries a lot over things like this, as I'm sure you know well by now." He pulled his hand away to show a dark mist coming from the wounds and his hand red with the blood that he'd been staunching. "And it's not really that important, but I'd rather not go back to the castle. I kind of like the town. It reminds me of my home town. I thought it would be a decent to get her off my back. Sisters are a pain sometimes, but you've gotta love em," Shadow said. His natural recovery wasn't instant, but he would heal on his own within a day without healing. He hated to waste a good day just because he was hurt. "By the way, don't blame yourself for this. I haven't really been able to get real time training in recently. I miss stepped and didn't play my cards right this time." |

"Ya, but you wouldn't have been in that situation if I hadn't been the way I was." He hissed. "And why are you being an idiot? Stressing your wounds just because you like the town." He growled softly. "You're giving me two options. I will go with option one for now and go with you to town, because I'm sure as hell not leaving you alone. But if things get worse with your wounds, I'm doing option two." |

"Don't forget I am not human either," he said, ignoring Storm's statement to put the blame back on himself. "Anyways, onwards to victory, or whatever." He began to limp awkwardly, dark mist accumulating from the wound in his leg as well. Zakuro was wandering around the market district with Lazura by his side. He ventured from booth to booth looking at the wears and came across small flute that would fit in his pack. he lifted it and turned it over in his hands, inspecting it with scrutiny. "Your really going to buy that," Lazura said from the side, watching her new rider with the same eyes he looked at the flute with. He said nothing, only continued to examine it before taking his own out and comparing the two. Lazura had not seen his flute before and this came as a slight change to her. |

Suddenly, the weight from Shadow's one side was lifted, while giving no extra to Shadow's wounded side. Storm's eyes showed their focus as he used his own powers. "Don't forget, I'm not to be underestimated." He glanced around. "Ok, so the one I got Crystal's engagement ring from, right?" Without waiting for an answer, Storm began weaving effortlessly through the crowd and booths. |

Shadow's mouth tipped up in a small smile. "Well, at least we know how to be a team." Shadow realized that this was a good chance to catch up some more on what's been going on. "So anything interesting you wanna talk about. It's been a little more than three years after all." Shadow could already see the number of people increasing as they reentered the market district of the kingdom. It was like the primary vein running a long strip from the heart of everything, the castle. Smaller stalls were set up on their end, but towards the center it would be full of people haggling and pressing to sell their goods. Zakuro shook his head after a long time comparing the two instruments. "What's wrong with it? You seemed to like it well enough," Lazura asked Zakuro, who was clearing ignoring the man behind the counter hawking him to buy the item. He spoke to both Lazura and the man to silence the relentless questions. "It has a split at the second key, and more over, it won't have as wide a range as mine based on the shape and cuts." The seller was slightly speechless, not knowing this for himself, and Lazura nodded in silence and followed him away and into the crowd, satisfied by his answer. |

Storm glanced back at him without slowing, knowing his power made up for Shadows injuries, so causing him to be no slower than usual. "What do you mean? What is there to tell you that you either dont already know or which has no business for you to know?" His eyes held curiosity but no hostility. |

Shadow chuckled at Storm's frankness. "Well, if I'm asking, I clearly wouldn't know. I guess I miss just chatting with you no matter what is was we were talking about," Shadow admitted with a small shrug. He could feel the pain in his step less now, glad that he was able to use his shadows, but he knew that in a crowded place he would have to stop his rapid healing, his welcome as a dark element frowned upon in most places. "Actually," he said a thought crossing his mind, "We could talk about that collar around your neck and the clearly visible scorch on you skin under it." They'd talked before a little bit, but not enough for it to leave much of an impression amid his sudden return and the typhoon of events they've already been through. |

Storm winced as, thanks to Shadow's reminding him, the feeling of being owned passed over him once more, just as if he were a dog. He self-consciously touched the collar then fixed his shirt to help ease himself. "It's to keep my power at low levels. Which, of course, is hard for me to do period, which you know that. So it's been taking a bigger toll on me than it for Crystal's bracelet. She seems to be handling hers well. I'm really proud of her, to be honest. Her quick thinking is helping her tremendously." He easily turned the subject, feeling his anxiety rise and his heart rate quicken, also becoming much more aware of the immense crowd of people about them. "So, what is it we're picking up at this booth?" |

Shadow could feel Storm's pull on the conversation as he moved the topic forcefully away. Though he wanted to know as much as possible about the situation, which now seemed to be slightly more serious that it had prior to this, he let the chance pass by until a later time. "Oh, curious are we? Well, you'll just have to wait and see tonight when I reveal this item to both you and Crystal. After their trip to the jewelers, through Shadow's struggle against his wound, he retrieved the items he'd had made. "Storm, thanks for helping me get here, and more over letting me come in such a condition. Could you wait here though while I get it though? I'd like to keep it a secret for now," Shadow asked honestly, hoping Storm would comply. |

Relief came as Shadow let the conversation drop and he felt a little more at ease, though it did not push it all away. He glanced at Shadow. "A gift, then?" He held his gaze steady at Shadow's request. Finally, "Fine. I will be right here at the front, though. And hurry, because I'd really rather you not be out too much longer and I know Crystal is not as lenient as I am." He stood at the front of the booth, glancing at the many different jewels on it, but his attention staying on Shadow, not letting his force he lended to Shadow fade with the distance. |

Shadow thanked Storm and moved to the jeweler. "Greetings sir. I'm sure you recognize me from the other day. I came to retrieve the pendents I requested," Shadow said brightly. The Jack's eyes grew wide in remembrance and he said, "One moment, I'll fetch them." He ran off from the booth to the main shop and returned hastily. "These correct?" he said holing up the necklaces carefully, one with a stunning gold chain link band and a rainbow shaped to fit inside the gold heart piece. The other two had delicate flat wound gold bands with a circle pendant of the same nature hanging. All three were masterful crafts with great beauty and care. "Yes. They are beyond what I had imagined. You certainly are a skilled crafts man," Shadow said staring them down with scrutiny. Jack smiled happily at the comment and pulled three cases, one for each necklace, and gently placed them inside the padded container before handing them to Shadow. "I hope they bring happiness to all who wear them," Jack said with a slight bow to his "rich" customer. Zakuro bumped into Storm's shoulder as he passed by, the tightly packed crowds pressing. Lazura trailed behind and noticed it was Storm before Zakuro had. "Good to see you again Storm, and healthy after our expedition with the army," Lazura said curtly with her lavish voice. |

He had zoned out, a way he kept himself calm when his anxiety rose to great heights. He snapped back when Zakuro touched him and he hid his restlessness at being in the crowd with great care. He smiled kindly to Lazura. "A few bruises. Everything else is healing well, of course. What are you two doing in the shops?" |

Zakuro nodded his head in a sort of apology rather than speaking over the bustle of the crowd. Lazura looked from Storm to him a moment and then replied, "You'd have to ask him that. I don't have the slightest idea what he'd want with all these people here." Zakuro shrugged and said, "I enjoy looking for nik-nacs I guess. I thought I might find a better flute than this one I made," He explained showing his to Storm for a moment. He had hoped he might run into Storm too though. He hadn't spoken since the army scare tactic and knew Storm had proposed. Zakuro felt weird that he was interested in something like that with someone else, but let it pass as it was. Storm would be a great ally as well as friend if things turned out well. Shadow Stepped away from the jewelers booth after thanking Jack, and his eyes narrowed in observation, watching everyone around him. No one seemed to be paying him any mind, not even Storm with Zakuro and Lazura. He nodded and quickly cast a shrouded dispersion over the cases, then they vanished into his waist pouch, which was nothing but darkness and shadow on the inside. Easy transport. He then moved slightly lopsidedly to the others while they were chatting. Zakuro nodded to Shadow a moment to acknowledge his return. |

As Shadow came closer to Storm, more of Storm's mind was allowed to open, the distance he was having to let his power go shortening. He spoke to Zakuro. "Most of the booths around here are kind but cannot make what is needed properly. But there are a few that can make anything perfectly. In fact, if you go down this street here and hang a left in the first ally, go past, I believe 4 booths, and the fifth one on your right is the one you're looking for. They sell wood items, like furniture, but tell him I sent you and you will get your money's worth in an instrument. He doesn't like making them anymore for reasons, but he'll make you yours. Just tell him what you want. Though, he does like putting his own ideas into things he makes so don't expect a replica of what you have in your mind." This showed the amount of studying Storm had done in figuring the layout of the village, even while he seemed to do no more than walk places with Crystal and Shadow. "I'm sorry to come off as rude, but I need to be going back to the castle to attend some things. You're more than welcome to join us or you can go on for your flute. I'll provide food if you come with us." He wanted to get back to the castle to feel Crystal's presescence, knowing it would calm him down, and also knowing he needed to get Shadow back not only for her to calm herself and get to heal him or for himself to take back the power he was giving him, but to get his friend out of his pain and into a much more comfortable position of laying down. |

"I think I will accompany you. That shop shouldn't be up and walking off before I make it over," Zakuro explained, taking course along side Storm and Shadow with Lazura close by. After a short trip through the market, though one that felt too long to Shadow with his pain returning from lack of his powers as a painkiller, they made it to the castle again. After they all made it past the public areas, Storm helped them all to pass through into the private areas with his high authority position. Crystal was waiting just past the check point with Charlie at her side. "Well, you certainly took your time didn't you," she said with a clear attitude. She'd been waiting there chatting with Charlie since changing clothes when she returned. It was now khaki pants with white blouse and her hair pulled behind one ear. "I guess we're home then," Shadow said in reply, knowing how to handle Crystal after so long. Zakuro and Lazura stood somewhat awkwardly behind them, having not been noticed as of yet, which Crystal made certain to fix. With a more polite tone than she'd used with Shadow she said, "Welcome to our kingdom..." She looked to Storm for a name, unsure what to say next. |

Storm smiled, relief and ease washing over him with her there and he, in turn, helped her. "Crystal, this is Zakuro and Lazura. They are... friends, I suppose, that I've met recently. They've helped me a lot with the army." He gestured to each in turn, but his eyes told her more. "They are alright, but do not trust them as we do Shadow." He then turned to Zakuro, knowing Lazura would not care by now. "Zakuro, this is Crystal. My fiancee as of last night." He blushed slightly, remembering his nerves last night. "Here, let's all go on upstairs into our room and get Shadow going towards getting better and everyone a nice warm meal, hm?" |

Shadow only partly connected the name with the person, focus on his wounds which had now begun to bloom in pain. "That would be an excellent idea," Shadow stated, clenching his teeth together slightly. Crystal, however, remained clueless that this man was the Zakura Manura that was husband to Cisca and father to Espira, whom Shadow had been with up until recently. Crystal blushed at Storm's introduction of her to the guests. "Congratulations to the both of you," Zakuro said in his monotone with a flourished bow. Lazura gave a slight acknowledgement as well from beneath her robe. This made Crystal blush even more, though happiness apparent from the smile that touched her lips. "I graciously welcome you Zakuro and Lazura, and thank you," Crystal formally said trying to recover, but soon dropped the formality. Storm, do you think you can guide them to the dinning hall while I help Shadow with this?" Crystal said, her eyes pleading with him more than her voice, coming back to the problem at hand. |
