Storm smiled at her willingness. "We're doing it my way, though. And-" He brushed past her, his eyes flashing crimson as they glanced at her. "You will not be in that war." He again grabbed her wrist and led her inside, releasing it as they came to the front of the already-lined-up soldiers. Storm stood tall in front of them and his voice rang with authority. "At ease, men!" Every man took the stance of a resting soldier, their attention on him. "I hope you brought every weapon you own, men, because you will be going toe to toe with us today. You will choose which of us you go after individually, but you will choose nontheless. I will not have soldiers who can't even stand against me to go stand against a waring army." He saw only one or two soldiers glance at Crystal before they moved their eyes back to him, but he smirked, already anticipating their hesitance in attacking her. "To help ease your nerves, I'll let you all watch a practice run." He turned to Crystal and he took his crouch. His eyes instantly wavered slightly as his own memories ran through him. Hunting. Fighting. Claiming his own territories. Killing. His pupils dangerously faded out, but he closed his eyes for a moment and when they opened, they had returned. "Fight me, Crystal." He smiled, showing his elongated fangs. "Tame me."

As Storm and Crystal entered, The soldiers all suddenly stood in attention. Shadow smiled at this and stood along with them, not standing out despite his odd appearance compared to the armor worn by the others. "This will be fun," he whispered to himself.
Leaning over to another he asked, "Who are you gunna pick?"

Crystal sighed at Storm's stubbornness, but stood her own in going to war. This was her choice. When he set to show the mock run she shrugged and said, "If you insist my dear."
She took her own stance, no weapon and without delay set after him. Crystal pushed forward and swept her leg for his head, anticipating his easy dodge and setting her hands on the ground to throw a second spin kick.

Storm smirked and noticed her hands, having fought with her before, he had tried studying her techniques. Instead of dodging, he grabbed her ankle of the foot flying for him and hoisted himself into the air, flipping himself upside down to land on his hands, bending backwards, wrapping his legs around her waist and flipping her back with him, turning them both temporarily into a sitting position with his legs around her. He then pulled her back by wrapping his arm around her neck and pulled out his knife, placing it to her through, but not touching it. His pupils again faded and he let a curse, closing his eyes and focusing. He suddenly hissed and dropped the knife, his eyes flying open, the pupil back in them, but also pain. His collar had burned him. Maybe if I could get a drink once in a while, this wouldn't happen! His knife lost, he could do nothing but tempt her. "Come on, Crystal." He knew she missed having her own freedom, her will to fight. And he was determined to let her have that today. To have that adrenaline. To have the feel of winning. But not by a forfeit. "Is this what I'm marrying? A girl who can't keep up with me? I'm a demon. I'm Storm Recair. If you want me, tame me."

Crystal smiled and set her hands to the ground behind them and pushed her mind and body to wield her power. With effort, she managed to use her element to boost herself to her feet, Storm still attached. "Try this!"
She again used her power to boost into the air and then they plummeted to the ground, crashing with Storm hitting first. The moment they hit, she took that chance to pry free of his grasp and she vaulted away. She breathed deeply, controlling her out put and then ran at Storm again. "You've gotta get up."

Storm lay there, stunned as the floor hit his spine. It took him a moment for his mind to gather itself and control his body once more, only to notice Crystal charging him again. He timed it, then hissed. "Or maybe you should just come down!" He swung his leg under her, leaping to his feet in the process as he kicked her legs and he landed in his crouch, his eyes out of focus as his body still tried to recouperate.

Shadow watched from the back and suddenly realized something was off. He knew that Storm's fighting wasn't the same as it usually was. "This can't end well."
He started around the walls, keeping in the darkness where he could as he moved closer to their battle at the front, attention not on him from all the jeers and cheering from the soldiers who'd taken a liking to the duel.

Crystal caught herself easily and as his foot swept hers, she cartwheeled to the side, moving closer and from his from in the same move. Planting one foot down, she spun herself in a strange stationary flip, creating a sphere distance that he limbs could reach. A hand or foot would come into contact with the ground and keep her going as long as her body could hold. It was a move she learned from Shadow, though it was performed with element and weapons.
She moved closer to Storm until her foot found his lower back and slammed into him, then again from the other side with her arm to his sternum. It created a series of unpredictable attacks the way she adapted it.

Storm could do little more than take the attacks she gave him, his body still not answering his mind's call. He tried again, as his pupils again disappeared, closing his eyes and focusing, but the hits he kept receiving were only making it worse. His collar glew brightly and he bit back a scream, his mind not being able to handle everything going on. A large fire erupted, the heat pushing Storm far back from where Crystal was, and he did good to stay on his feet. He felt like he was going to be sick. But he forced the feeling back and straightened, the fire now gone, his unseeing eyes facing the crowd, his voice seemingly perfectly fine. "As you can see, she can handle herself. Do not fear going against her. She can handle you. Remember, this is to test your strength of battle. Do not disappoint me. Choose which of us you wish to fight now and stand in an orderly line. Each match will be fought individually. You have five minutes to gather your weapons from your beds and five minutes to choose and line up. Dismissed." He swallowed as he heard the soldiers begin moving and he took a shaken breath, his pupils again fading.

Shadow swept up from the darkness and blocked the fire from causing damage to anyone, especially Crystal, but vanished before she could really catch sight of him. Afterwards, he came up from behind Storm while Crystal was preoccupied and pulled him aside. "You haven't had a drink recently have you?" he questioned knowing how Storm gets without blood.
"It's dangerous like this Storm. Shadow tapped his wrist and said, "I told you long ago that I would help whenever."

Crystal couldn't help but feel it was an empty victory for her. Storm didn't put up a normal fight. It was different, but she couldn't quite place it. She sat down by a pillar and began meditating, trying to regulate the energy she'd used while facing him.

His body was shaking slightly. "I-I didn't know it'd got so bad." He swallowed, hearing the pulse on Shadow's heart, the blood rushing through his veins. He closed his eyes tightly, sitting down in the floor, propping himself up against the wall. He was in a cold sweat, his body still not recouperating. "What if I can't stop, Shadow? You know I've never liked risking you like that." His anxiety was rising with his lack of blood and strength, his breathing shakey.

"What do you think I am, some pansy? We are on par after all. I'm sure I can handle it," Shadow said.
He knew if bothered Storm, but a swift blow would be plenty if it came down to it. "I've never had a problem, and I'd really rather you not sear anyone to death. We'll need all we can get out on that battle field when the time comes."

He looked at Shadow's eyes, his pupils disappearing and reappearing consecutively. He swallowed and his eyes went down to Shadow's wrist. "Just... don't let me hurt you." His voice was fearful, but he knew he feared more what would happen if he did not. He feared the monster he turned into.
He grabbed Shadow's wrist and bit into it, his fangs sliding in a little more roughly than usual. Still, he pierced the vein perfectly, just as skillfully as ever, and the blood rushed into his mouth. The warmth itself aroused him, and he had enough of his mind to blush, but not enough to stop. His body needed blood and it would get it. He controlled himself as much as he could while drinking, forcing back the urge to make a new bite, for the feeling and not the blood for his chosen vein would not run out. His instincts urged him to go for the neck, but the part of his mind he was able to keep because Shadow had caught him before it had gotten so bad, told him otherwise.

Shadow felt the fangs slip into his arm and resisted the instinct to fight. It had certainly been a while since he last did this, but he didn't easily forget the feeling. He didn't forget something like this easy, even if it didn't hurt much.

Crystal, after she finished collecting herself, looked over to find Shadow with Storm, though the abnormally dark area made it hard to see. "You ready for this Storm?" she called over to him.

He felt the blood boosting his senses, bringing them back to the natural states, bringing his body and mind back to it's proper state. Of course, a night of sleep will help revive his mind to it's better state, helping take the stress from it along with the blood he was drinking now.
The problem was, he hadn't yet had enough blood to even sustain him for the day of fights, let alone his usually length of time without drinking. He had gained enough of his mind to react, but not enough to risk "losing his prey". He looked up at Shadow, his fangs never leaving, his eyes pleading, their pupil slowly returning. Asking him to stall her.

Shadow was at a loss. At this point he couldn't move to intercept her, and if he said the wrong thing, she would move towards them. "What, are you trying to leave me out of the fun?" he called to her.
"Alright mister high and mighty. If you think your tough, how about we go around sometime," Crystal said.
Shadow didn't risk easing up yet, worried she might still move. "HA! you've never been able to beat me before. Maybe these guys here can give us a warm up," he taunted in retaliation.
"Are you scared a girl is going to beat you? Well, I'll be waiting for you to make up your mind."
Crystal put on her more imperial air and spoke to the guards who had begun to return. "Look sharp! If you couldn't carry all that armor, why would you bring it?" she snapped out, the last comment a general statement.

Storm had one last swallow and finally removed his fangs from Shadow and held his sleeve to Shadow's new small wounds until they ceased bleeding. He then rose, fixing his appearance and taking a comforting breath, his eyes back to their beautiful dark red shade and his body much more relaxed. He glanced at Shadow, his eyes sincere. "You really are my best friend, Shadow. Thank you." He came from the darkness and took in the siege of soldiers ready to fight him, Crystal, and now, Shadow. He smirked, finally ready and anticipating the challenge. He got into his crouch, his eyes shining brightly. "Is everyone ready to begin?"

Shadow nodded in acknowledgement saying, "Anytime. You know it's not a big deal for me, though coming from you, that certainly does mean much more."
The veil of darkness that Shadow kept while with Storm fell and he stepped forward. "Of course. I wouldn't miss out on the fun."
Seeing the soldiers armed to the teeth, Shadow drew his over sized daggers for anyone who chose to fight him. crystal pushed her mind and body past it's limit, and summoned forth Aurora, her Arcane spear. "Let's see what we have to work with. Don't feel shy, step forward.
The first stepped forward to face Storm as was expected from both Crystal and Shadow. "All yours," the both said in unison.

Storm flashed his infamous smirk, his eyes glowing brightly with their dark shade. "Make the first move."
The soldier looked around, seeming hesitant. "This is stupid."
Storm nodded and gave a look of solemn understanding. "Yes, playing pretend surely is a silly game. So, let's really risk our lives." He disappeared, reappearing behind the soldier, taking the back of his collar, and jerking him up into the air, leaping up and cutting his leg down sharply, nailing the soldier in his stomach and slamming him into the floor, dust rising from the impact. Though he had made his earlier statement, he was not using all of his strength nor even touching his powers, plus the collar was more motivation to take this route. But he also did this because he really was testing these soldiers' skills and he couldn't do that if he killed them. He didn't expect them to beat him. But he did want to see them tire him out. He also knew the soldiers' minds of this being a "petty stupid game" would restrict them from giving him their all. So, he would not give his opponents any time to think of anything expect a counter-attack.
He skidded back, taking his crouch once more, but drawing his knife from his boot, aiming. He smiled. 'The demon who never misses his mark'. 'A true aimer'. Things he had been called. He had to admit, his eye-sight and judgement had never let him down. He was hoping the soldier would recouperate and counter attack before he threw it, though. He seemed to be aiming for a wounding shot but he rarely forgot his purpose. Instead, he was now testing this soldier's ability to think quickly.

The soldier, leg bleeding is searing pain, scrambled to his feet, balancing on a spear he'd brought. After a moment, he managed his balance and readied himself again. A charge attack was the most he could muster with such feeble training and stamina. He stretch his arms out, spear trained on Storm, but his limp made him slow and clumsy, stumbling to one knee. "I give," the sad excuse of a soldier said, knowing had this truly been a fight for his life, he was dead already. After limping back into the ranks dejected, another came forth to challenge Shadow to prove his own skill with elven daggers. "Good fight Storm. My turn it seems."
He smiled and did a little jig, happy for the chance, and the next opponent sneered at his antics while the others laughed. "I saw your blades and had to challenge you. You see, I wanted to shred you apart."
"Don't worry, it's just been a while since I had a fight," Shadow stated then ripped his daggers from their resting place at his belt ad taking a low stance then finished, "I'll be glad to show you your place here."
The elf drew his own weapons, but it was too late. Shadow had moved for a frontal attack. His hilts found the gaps in the shoulder of the armor, driving home the pain. He dropped out as an X slash came his way. Shadow used this chance to correct the mistake in footing. "Keep your center lower. You move faster and sharper," He said for everyone to hear.
Though he had spoken, not a foot was misplaced as he picked away at his opponent with swift, seemingly impossible moves. The elf struck his fatal mistake. Shadow stepped back with ease and jammed his hilts into the man's wrists, the daggers falling to the ground, and Shadow put a powerful kick to the chest plate, knocking the elf back. Before he could recover or even make sense of the move, Shadows daggers slashed clean through the thin metal the guarded the throat, slamming into the ground and not harming the foe. "This is not a joke nor a game. This man could have lost his life at my hands. Your enemy will not show mercy. This is kill, or be killed in war," Shadow said.
He snatched his weapons up and cleanly sheathed them. "Your style isn't terrible, but your slow and have inadequate footing for the style. Four of ten."
He offer to help the man up, but he pushed Shadows hands away and collected his blades in shame. Crystal leaned over to Storm. "This is looking really bleak for us. He didn't even break a sweat nor use his power," she stated with a sigh.

Storm nodded, his eyes on the soldier he'd wounded. "I never even lost a breath. I'm actually beginning to worry, to be honest." He took a deep breath and released it. "We have an extremely little amount of time before they need to be ready. All we have to do is train them and not waste what time we have. What sticks out to me the most, though, is-" He nodded toward his wounded soldier, whom simply stood there with the other soldiers, having done a horrible wrap job on his leg. "Not a single other soldier has volunteered to help him. He did that on his own. And it wouldn't prevent him from bleeding out had I hit him right. They need to stand on their own in battle, yes, but when one of them needs help and someone has the capability of helping them, under no circumstances do I want to see a rejection. No one even helped him walk back. I want them to learn this part, too. Because this could save more lives than the ability to fight." He growled quietly. "I'm just not sure how to-" His attention went to the door in the back, which opened slowly and quietly as a soldier slipped in, obviously having been late. It was not the usual entrance door, probably so he could not be spotted and get in trouble, but instead it was the door that led through the whole building, but which also held.... Storm bit his tongue as one shoved its head through the door, the soldier unable to keep it back, and five more pushing their way through. Wolves. Perfect loyal companions on any scene. Each wolf here was assigned to a soldier. Wolves and elves went well together. But wolves and demons... did not. It was always a big territorial issue. And that made Storm's scent more evident than any one else's. Storm's eyes went big as the huge beasts came charging for him. He also noticed how none of the soldiers thought to call to their wolves and stop them, but instead let shock cause their brains to pause. Storm has fought many wolves to keep himself alive, but those were usually one on one or two at the most, all of which he struggled to beat and never left without some bad wounds. But five? That were trained to protect? With soldiers' blood within the room? His heart began to race. His mind yelled at him that they were trained, they knew orders, they could follow them. But Storm was never around animals, let alone dogs. He had no clue how to get them to stop. He had no clue how to take on five at one time. Fear overtook his body, preventing him from movement. "Shadow! Crystal!"

Immediately Shadow drew to Storm's side, a sudden darkness shimmering from his skin as he took a stance low to the ground to meet the first wolf charging at them. Crystal's spear was already poised for a fight as she yelled out uncharacteristically at the elven warriors who just stared dumbly at this. "These are your "pets"! Do something you idiots!"
Shadow's first strike was sorely misplaced, his dagger shearing through flesh and pushing the wolf aside, but leaving his right leg out too far. The next in the attack formation let it's teeth sink into his leg, while the next one jumped, claw extended for his throat. The one at his ankle ripped deeper into his flesh, but he pushed through the pain that came in pulses through his body and managed to flip himself before the killing strike could find him. Instead, it tore past his thick black attire and bore into his chest.
A series of sharp whistles came from all around it seemed and the wolves pulled away. Crystal had set her spear through the bone of the hind leg in the one that Shadow first fought, and it now limped, whimpering to it's owner. Shadow could feel the release of pressure on his calf as the action ceases.
He curled his now lame lag in and applied pressure to the wound as he assessed what had happened to Storm, Crystal, and the on lookers while he was being attacked.
