Shadow cradled her head and said, "If we hurry, we shouldn't have to worry." He lifted her up and with the aid of Aeroth, placed her gently on his back, mounting shortly after. "Which way is the village," Aeroth asked, his head turning to look at Narasu. Shadow looked at Storm's sad figure. "You'll be fine till we get back?" |

Storm forced himself into his usual seat on Narasu, sparking a glare at Shadow. "That question is invalid because I'm coming. I'm leading you there." So there wasn't time to argue, Narasu opened his great wings and gave a strong flap, sending dust flying everywhere, putting the large fire out, and forcing his huge body into the air. As soon as he was above the trees, he hovered and looked at Aeroth. "It's this way." He spoke and began flying in the direction he indicated. Storm gave a sharp cough but tried to muffle it partly because of the pain it caused him. It didn't take long before the dim lights of a village began to appear shortly after leaving the mountains. Storm glanced to Aeroth and the others. "Is Crystal still ok?" He called over the roaring winds they were flying through. |

Shadow didn't say a word as Storm mounted uneasily and they took off, only smiled. Aeroth spread his massive feathered wings and gently lifted into the air, careful of Crystal. They flew at as fast a pace as they could without repercussions and soon saw the place. Crystals breathing had become ragged and hot as she held on to consciousness, he eye lids fluttering open occasionally to make sense of what was going on. "She's holding on, but she might not for long," Shadow said with worry in his voice as he watched her and checked their progress. |

"Of course, why would she." He hissed to himself, anger boiling in his eyes. He laid close to Narasu and the large dragon dove for the village, only pulling up inches from the ground, enough to place his feet on it and stop himself. Storm only then released his tight grip on the spike in front of him, glancing back at Shadow and the others. He didn't speak, only pointed to a gentle spring in the middle of the village that flowed into a fountain. |

Aeroth came down, his black and white mass of feathers gently floating as his white talons pieced the ground. He slumped down allowing Shadow to Hop off easily. He turned and eased Crystal Down off Aeroths back, her body a limp figure. He moved quickly to the fountain and gently set her in, making sure her entire body, including her face, were submerged. He stepped back and watched anxiously for a sign of her recovery. |

Storm watched from atop Narasu. He wanted to go nearer to Crystal, to be with her, to see what was happening. But he knew he couldn't leave the small amount of warmth he was getting from his dragon who continued to blow small circles of smoke to keep his neck heated for his rider. |

Slowly but surely, a faint light began to emit from her, one of a crystal blue, as she remained just below the surface. Shadow breathed out a sigh of relief upon seeing this. He turned to Storm and Narasu saying, "She's recovering. All we can do now is wait for her to awaken herself once she's ready." He walked over to Aeroth and sat down, leaning against his feathered body. Aeroth looked down at him from Crystal's recovering body and said, "We maybe have heal her, but there is still the matter of Storm." Shadow looked to storm's shivering body on Narasu and sighed, knowing they weren't in the clear yet. "Now would be a good time to think of ideas while we aren't struggling to keep everyone alive at once." |

Narasu glanced at Shadow, his large crimson eyes focusing solely on the man. "All you have to do is ask and the answer shall be given to you. However, the answer will do you no good unless you yourself truely feel a connection with the demon atop my back. Speak with your mind, boy, for no one else may be allowed to hear us." Storm still looked to Crystal in the small fountain, watching the water pouring over her as she laid in its cool, wet embrace. He shivered at the thought and looked down to the ground, searching for warmer, dryer things to think about. He nor any of the others seemed to be able to hear what Narasu had said to Shadow. |

"I wasn't aware that you could use telepathy to other beings," Shadow said glancing to Crystal a moment before closing his eyes. "Is Aeroth safe to know this also, seeing as he can hear my thoughts as well," Shadow mentioned, Aeroth glancing his piercing eyes from Crystal's figure over to Narasu and Storm. |

"I am not dim, child. He cannot hear what I shall say. Telepathy is very simple for my kind, for it is the only way we can speak. Therefore, we can control it and even master it. If I was unable to put a wall between my words and Aeroth's hearing, I would not have even bothered to speak with you. Now, answer my question of how connected you may be to my rider and ask how he may be cured." The voice was as calm as ever, things seeming to rarely upset Narasu. The dragon's moods seemed to be polar opposites of his rider's. While he was constantly patient and calm, his rider was, to put it simply, bipolar. And, though Storm had a connection with his dragon, he seemed completely deaf to what he was saying to Shadow. |

Aeroth smiled inwardly at the comment brought through by Narasu, knowing he had greater control of his telepathy with Shadow than Narasu believe, but regardless, he blocked his mind from the thoughts of his companion and friend. "Shadow watched Crystal again and replied to the question at hand. "I followed him through darkness and harsh cold, almost to death. I think I can say for certain that I will do what even needs do to help my close friend. Now what is it that needs to happen to cure him of his illness." Though it wasn't spoken aloud, Shadow focused intently on the words that were to come, taking care to remember what was said. |

Narasu narrowed his eyes on Shadow. "It is a very simple task, yet it is the hardest thing he could ever accomplish. It is something you could do with ease but, should he do it, it could break him as he once was. That is what shall be difficult about this task. Completeing it without breaking him. Think about it. You're not an idiot, so surely you could reach the conclusion. He has just been robbed of something that he dearly relied on, rendering him helpless. Not only can he not leave heat, he also is in need of more blood than usual, something he also hates about himself. The answer is simple. Storm must be taught to be helpless. He must learn to accept himself and to accept help. He must be able to let himself be fully taken care of. This lesson will gain him his control of fire back. It will also help him in the future. Hopefully, he will never become this helpless again. But, he, like everyone else, will need help in his life and this will help him to be able to accept and take that help. If he is to be a king, his decisions and allies will affect everyone. Aeroth may not be allowed to know this. Crystal may not be allowed to know this. You can give them subtle hints so they may help, but they may not know the truth. And Storm, especially, may not know this. Should he accept help simply because he knows he will later get his power back for it, the lesson will not be learned truely and the fire shall be forever lost until the lesson is fully learned. I am only able to tell you this for one reason: I am not allowed to help. I am his dragon. He already trusts me. If I were to help, I would be taken away from him and you do not want to see the mental damage that can do to him. Now that you know what must be done, I can no longer provide him my warmth. You may come to me for advice, but what I may tell or aid you with is severely limited. Good luck, Shadow." The great dragon lowered his head so that it rested on the ground and the smoke that showed the heat in his neck disappeared and let a shiver race through Storm. |

Shadows eyes narrowed and became dark and frozen as he thought intensely about his own past and hardships. The hatred vanished from his face as he began to think of Storm in his predicament, and how exactly Storm was expected to trust Shadow fully and accept his help. Just as he was deep in thought, a sloshing splash sounded from the fountain. Crystal had finally awakened and had quickly moved to the edge of the fountain, sitting on the smooth stone of the side and letting her feet dangle in the water. She looked over at them with a rather grim look, her deep blue eyes reading that the situation had grown no better in her absence. "I apologize for the trouble. I should have been more aware of the water when i rested," She said moving from the fountain edge to Aeroth stroking his feathered wing in appreciation. |

Storm watched her, studying her movements in case she still were not fully alright or stumbled at any time. He forced a smile. "If I hadn't been scared for your life, I'd tell you it was ok." He kept a light mocking tone regardless of the shiver that raced through him at the time. He couldn't stop himself from wrapping his arms around himself, though. "Can we, ya know, make a fire or something? At least find a place to stay for the night." As he spoke, he only just realized the sun was beginning to set. It brought dread to his eyes as he knew that meant the little warmth the sun brought was about to be stolen by the cool night. Narasu said nothing, simply stayed in his laying position, his eyes also worriedly on the sun. Even if he was allowed to help, his eyes gave away that he had no idea on how to deal with Storm with a dropping temperature. |

Shadow looked to Crystal and Aeroth, both suddenly becomeing quiet and taking on rather worried looks. Shadow stood and moved away from Aeroth and spoke to Storm. "Storm, how much do you trust me," He asked seriously. He glanced to the dropping sun and then looked back to Storm for a reply. |

Storm looked at him with a narrowed gaze. His voice was guarded as he spoke, paying very good attention to the changes in Shadow's group's expressions. "I trust you the same as I trust anyone else. Why?" |

"Well that's not very reassuring," He said, his gaze hardening on Storm. Just before the darkness had engulfed them for the night, Shadow went to work. He Closed his eyes and darkness began to emit from his feat, like shadows on the ground. They continued outwards until they had flattened covering the ground from where he stood, out in a circle around Narasu, Storm, Aeroth, and Crystal. Shadow the opened his smoldering dark grey eyes, and raised his arms quickly, The form raising around them into the sky like a dome, briefly engulfing them in total shroud, before it faded back to the sky just before night. He then looked to Storm and Narasu, gauging their reactions, himself uncharacteristically silent. |

Storm's crimson eyes, glowing faintly in the darkness surrounding them, never moved from Shadow, distrusting the man simply from the question of trust. Once the dark dome had vanished, he spoke, suppressing yet another of his many racking shivers. "And what was the point of that, then, Shadow?" |

His gaze became softer but his silent oddness remained. "you have no power where you are now. I want you to trust me, because its the key to survive. Even if you are weak, you can be lifted up by your allies, and rely on them. Me," He said. Crystal stayed near Aeroth, who was watching with wise eyes. |

Storm scoffed, his crimson eyes flooding with a deep coldness mixed with fear from deep within his heart. "I'm not an idiot. Once a king falls, it's his own fault and no one comes to his aid. No, they come for his land and people. There is no reason for a being to help another when there is nothing to gain and I have nothing to offer. Don't play with me, Shadow." His soft defensive growl came from within his chest. "I am not weak." |
