Took our Escos to Torque Of The Devil in uxbridge yesterday for a rolling road tune up. The stage 3 stuff has been in there since 1994 and we've recently done the head gasket and fitted a LARGE new intercooler so thought it was time for a check up. Chris certainly seemed to know his stuff so we were really happy with his advice - unfortunely he sent us away with a shopping list The good news is the old (92440 miles) engine is doing pretty well. The bad news was that the actuator is getting weak so we need to replace it. We also need to get the injectors cleaned as number 2 is running very lean and Chris advised us to not be so heavy with the right foot until we get that sorted. We also need to get an induction kit. Amazing the difference it made -a power figure of round 283bhp with the lid on the air box and then 292bhp with the lid off. Wouldn't have believed it without seeing it. So if we do all the things suggested we should see over 300bhp which is what we were hoping for. We've found someone on Escortrscosworth.com who can clean injectors and Simon's sourced an actuator on the internet so that will be ordered soon plus we'll pinch the air filter off the Saph for now. Will take it back in when that's all done and see where we are then. Little peed off as all this money being spent on the Escos just makes the day our Saph is back on the road further and further away |

At least it'll be sorted now though and you won't have to worry about it. You can spend all your "worry dollars" on the saph instead! Guy |
