To start this off nicely, Terry Goodkind does put some mature themes in his stories, such as swearing, and other... more adult themes, but overall, his books are good. Terry Goodkind, the author of the Sword of Truth series. He has written a series called The Sword Of Truth. The First book, called Wizard's First Rule was published in 1994. Wizard's First Rule, though 829 pages, is a fantastic book to read, and a very engaging book that you can just never seem to put down. So that everyone can get the jist of what the book is about, I'll post what the blurb on the back of the book says: "In the aftermath of the brutal murder of his father, a mysterious woman, Kahlan Amnell, appears in Richard Cypher's forest sanctuary seeking help...and more. His world, his very beliefs, are shattered when ancient debts come due with thundering violence. In their darkest hour, hunted relentlessly, tormented by treachery and loss, Kahlan calls upon Richard to reach beyond his sword -- to invoke within himself something more noble. Neither knows that the rules of battle have just changed...or that their time has run out. This is the beginning. One book. One Rule. Witness the birth of a legend." it's a really good book, I suggest you read it, then continue the series. I'm only on book 2 so far, which is called the Stone Of Tears. Wizard's First Rule is kinda fast paced, though, just so you know. And the ending is... kinda cheesy. Well, then. Discuss what you think the book is like, or, if you've read it, discuss why you liked or disliked it without spoilers. |

Thanks, Kahuna. I tend to read books that have that genre... So it's not hard to find many good books. (Mostly the Twilight Series...) |

I like your summary of it, I am looking it up right now and might look into buying. Sounds like another good author and book that I haven't heard of yet.

That's not my summary, it's straight from the back of the book. And yeah, it's a good book. Beware, it came out in 1994, and you might want to buy the whole series... the newest one just came out, and it's called Confessor. There are 11 books in the series that I can name right off the bat... So yeah. it's a good series. |
